About this property
Roomy Lakeside Home With Great Views And Minutes From Trout Town USA (Roscoe)
Our lakeside home sits on a hillside overlooking beautiful Tennanah Lake (largest private lake in the Catskills). We love the quiet serenity of being out in the country, while still only 10 minutes from Roscoe stores and restaurants. We enjoy the house in all 4 seasons, but our favorite season is the summer. Nights are usually cool, with ceiling fans and open windows keeping it quite comfortable. We think you'll love falling asleep with the sounds of water lapping at the dock and waking up to great sunrises. Our spring-fed lake is clear and refreshing - perfect for a summer day swim. Look for the eagles that nest across the lake.
Great fishing - Tennanah lake is stocked with bass, trout and perch. We are also minutes from world class trout fishing streams and several outfitters in Roscoe.
Our home is on a hillside, so the great views come with somewhat steep path down to the water. We have a floating dock and the water gets deep quickly. May not be suitable for families with very young children or those with physical limitations.

In the lake every day, kayaking, golf at the Roscoe Mountain Inn, gourmet dinning tucked in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, watching the fog burn off while being serenaded by birds one early morning, and a full moon trickling across the lake on our last night.
This vacation filled my soul!
Such a great property! This is our second time vacationing here, and it is an ideal location, right on the lake. The house has everything you need for a relaxing vacation and Carol is extremely communicative. We had another amazing time and would highly recommend!!
We had three generations in the house ranging in age from 78 to 13, and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Carol is a wonderful host and the house is exceedingly well equipped. All in all, a wonderful stay. Would return.
House was clean with plenty of room for our group.beautiful views of the lake from multiple decks. Lots of fish caught from the dock or using the kayaks and canoe. Great location to relax with family and friends.
We had such a wonderful time this weekend! The only thing I’d say to future guests is make sure to bring conditioner if you use it. The lake house is beautiful and we’ll set up for large groups
We had a great stay. Very quiet and peaceful.
Very clean. Great that they leave supplies for cleaning, cooking, paper goods, etc.
Home could use a bit of upgrading, but it is priced accordingly, so it is still a 5 overall.
The bedrooms were very spacious, with multiple beds in two of the rooms. The two decks are very nice, especially the one down by the lake.
The house is nice, but could benefit from some updated furniture and a smart TV.
It was perfect for our purposes, we went flyfishing in the area for two days, and this was a great homebase. Looking forward to going back!
What a wonderful place to relax in a quiet atmosphere. Everything was great! The host made the experience seamless. The house was nice and being right on the lake was amazing. Plenty to do from fishing to kayaking and games at night. No need to leave the property.
Carol was an amazing host and the place was a perfect spot for a long weekend away with old friends. The lake house was the perfect launchpad for a spectacular few days of fly fishing the famous local rivers. Fishing in the lake was productive as well. We cooked all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen with all modern appliances. We all had a fantastic time. Thanks Carol!
Carol and her husband have done an amazing job with this property. We enjoyed every second of our getaway. The view from dawn until dusk is amazing and then at night you can cap it off with a drink by the bonfire. They had a brand new Weber grill for our arrival which was awesome. The outdoor seating setup is great and the cool breeze that comes into the house at night is super relaxing.
We plan to return to this property every year as long as it remains available. Highly suggest.

Simply Beautiful!
We stayed in Carol's house in late June and it was the best rental experience we have ever had. The home is very comfortable and set up in a way that there are many separate spaces for people to hang out together or to get a little time apart if you are a multi-group party. The view is unparalleled both on the lake and on land. Fishing in the lake is fantastic. I caught a small mouth bass off of the dock on the second cast! Can't wait to come back. Thanks Carol!

We enjoyed this house and loved the lake. The kayaks were fun, we saw beavers and lots of other cool wildlife while paddling. It’s nice and close to Roscoe and Livingston manor and tons of great fishing spots.
This lake house has ever thing you could possibly want for a great family vacation. Our family enjoyed fishing, kayaking, campfire and S'mores, swimming, and tubing. We had a wonderful time.
Enjoyed our stay at this house, 6 Adults, plenty of room. A beautiful view of the Lake and the beautiful fall season. House was very peaceful. We would rent again if we are in the area visiting family.
Thank You to our host, which communicated well and made it very easy for us to know our way around the house.
We had a WONDERFUL time at this lake house! We are a couple in our 60's from Florida. We hosted two of our daughters + sons-in-law for a weekend here. We hadn't all been together in over a year, due to the pandemic. This was such a perfect get-away for all of us! We shopped at a nearby grocery before the "kids" arrived, so we were stocked up on all necessities. We had "munchies" available throughout the weekend. On Friday evening, we went into town and enjoyed the Roscoe Beer Company where they had live music playing outside. We went to a local restaurant on the "main drag" of downtown Roscoe, a very cute & scenic street. And we made our way over to the local ice cream shop (Yum!). We finished up the evening with some very competitive board games (at which the women excelled!). On Saturday, we made a big family breakfast & then spent the day relaxing, walking, kyaking/canoeing and just generally "hangin' out!" That evening, we cooked steaks on the grill out on the deck. After dinner & clean up, we enjoyed a fire at the firepit on the lakeside deck. When we left Sunday morning, we went into Jeffersonville and had a delicious brunch at Samba Cafe before we all parted ways. Overall, this was the perfect place for our mini-family reunion. Before we even left, the kids were talking about coming back again!
House had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Carol, the host, was communicative and friendly, providing great recommendations for local eateries and outfitters alike. The lake itself was absolutely gorgeous. Though it rained the majority of our time here, it never stopped us from paddling daily with the kayaks provided. We did get a clear night, and for those who love to stargaze, the sky was perfect. The lower deck was great for hanging out at night with a fire in the most amazing firepit. Note for potential renters, the property is very vertical, may be difficult for those who are either very young or very old, lots of steps, but the path was well lit and honestly fun to traverse.
The house is spacious and comfortable, with wonderful views of the lake. The owner responded quickly to a couple of questions we had after arriving at the house.

About the host
Hosted by Carol Costello
I grew up on a lake in the Midwest. I loved all the seasons on the lake. We wanted to recreate this experience for our family and have found it with our lakeside retreat.
Why they chose this property
We were seeking a lakeside home within 2 hours of northern NJ. When we first walked out onto the back deck we knew we had found our idyllic lake home.
What makes this property unique
Our home has spectacular views from the deck outside the 1st floor. We love watching the sunrises and sunsets from our lakeside rooms and 2 decks. My favorite time of day is the golden hour before twilight, when the hillside lights up with gold and rose. Can't beat relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck before dinner.
Tennanah lake is a private lake community with no public access, so it is quiet, even on busy weekends.
