Casa Flora is a complete little two room apartment just off Taos Plaza and close to everything Taos offers. Enter through a brick courtyard lined with summer blooming flowers and outdoor seating area for an evening glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee. Casa Flora has a living room/kitchen which is comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is well equipped for at home dining and can seat four. The living room sofa is a new queen sofa bed with gel foam mattress for two additional guests or children. Additional $25 per person per night which may be left at departure. The room is heated with a gas log stove and the skylight offers wonderful Taos light. The bedroom features a queen bed with premium bedding, good reading lights, cozy robes, and charming gas log stove with a decorative tile surround. Only operate gas log stoves from wall thermostats. NEVER turn off main gas line. The bath has a tiled shower and plenty of towels and bath supplies. Leave your hair dryer at home since I provide one. Casa Flora is located in an adobe building built in the 1880's and has wooden floors, hand hewn beamed viga ceilings and many multi paned operable windows. 14' thick adobe walls assure winter warmth and summer coolness. All windows are screened with perfect privacy and security. There is a ceiling fan in the kitchen and another in the bedroom. I also a provide 2 swamp coolers in case you are staying during our (luckily short) summer heat spells. Casa Flora is furnished with antiques, original Taos art from some of our exceptional artists and my sense of whimsy throughout. As with all of my properties I am dog friendly. I provide dog sheets for bed and furniture. Please use. I charge $10 per dog per night which may be left at departure. If this apartment is booked for your days please look at Vrbo 422849 or Vrbo 598600. Very similar and on the same street. Vrbo 598600 is an adjoining apartment and can be rented together with Casa Flora for larger groups or families. Vrbo 422849 is just upstairs in the same building.

It was just what one would want for a short stay. Nicely decorated, well heated, working stove and referigerator, hot water, adequate light and outlets. A lovely little place to stay. the only drawback is that the bedroom was separated from the main area by a blanket. Since my son and I keep different hours this made it a little difficult to get to sleep but ear plugs did the trick.
Simple and awesome space with wood stoves for the cold high desert. Enjoyed food close by and the ambiance of the space with good friends. Perfect for a snapshot to Taos and Northern New Mexico. Thank you for having us.
We just spent one night in our way though Taos with our 2 kids (10 and 12). Location was perfect for shopping and eating downtown and to get the local flavor. Accommodations were clean, homey, and Melissa was easily available for questions.
Casa Flor was very cozy and a quiet getaway tucked in the courtyard. Even with the bustle of the 4th of holiday and fireworks, it was a quiet spot. We were able to walk to many sights, restaraunts etc. in town easily. Great spot for our getaway.
This little place is right across the street from the plaza—the perfect location for a Taos getaway. The flowered entrance is stunning, and the old adobe building was beautifully renovated. The decor is quintessential Taos.
The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The property itself is a delightful blend of Taos charm and modern comfort. It's impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The location can't be beat – just a short walk to the heart of town, with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, and museums. If this gem is available, don't hesitate to book it!
Our apartment has to be in the best location in Taos. It is walking distance from everything. The apartment is so authentic! It is beautifully decorated, and it was very clean. We had a wonderful time. Our hostess was very helpful, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who was to experience Taos,
I moved here from Marin County California in 2005. I wanted a simpler life in a small town and have found my niche in Taos. I now own 11 vacation rental properties in Taos. Everything from one bedroom apartments and casitas to two and three bedrooms. Most are an easy walk or on the Plaza. All are special and decorated in a very 'Melissiana' style Many of my guests comment that they are what they always thought Taos should be...
Why they chose this property
Some women collect shoes, some collect shoes. I seem to collect houses. I love to furnish, decorate, equip and manage these spaces as vacation rentals. I consider myself 'The Vacation Rental Queen of Taos' I had finished my last project--two homes right downtown on a property that had been in foreclosure for two years. Then I bought a downtown compound with four homes. The Inspection Report was 49 pages long. All of my homes have been on recent Taos Home & Garden Tours- Quite a compliment to my style... It's just so much fun!
What makes this property unique
Casa Flora is quiet and private. There is room for a couple to stretch out, enjoy, cook at home, but outside the front door is everything downtown Taos with shops, galleries, museums and a dozen restaurants within walking distance. There is even free parking right across the street. The town is not ticketing at the meters currently.
