Great Tiny House
My sister and I took a road trip from Illinois to Maine. We saw this tiny house on VRBO and fell in love with it. We had everything we needed--kitchen supplies, towels, etc. We had fun cooking our meals, going out for the day and exploring Acadia and all points around Bangor and Camden. We hiked and shopped and then returned to our little home for a great night's sleep. Josh was helpful and responsive. I would recommend this tiny house for anyone wanting to get away and explore Maine.

Indoor Camping
Great for down time. In woods, somewhat isolated. We called it indoor camping due to following ; hot water issue..Better be quick! Needs a larger tank. No sink in bath room. Has room for a corner sink. Only sink is in kitchen. Needs at least two new pots. One for pasta, one for sauce or veggies or what ever. Parking needs to be fixed.Too far from cottage and on road. Not looking for greatest TV,but system is bizarre. No local channels for weather and news of area. Makes daily planning difficult. Over all for Us (wife & I) we liked it.And ultimately would go back.

Wonderful Cabin!
Perfect cabin in the woods, on a beautiful lake, with lots to do. Plenty of room for a couple's getaway. There is a great loft upstairs that we didn't use, but that would be perfect for small children. Probably too small for a family with teens, or more than 2 adults. The cabin had everything we needed, and the hosts were super responsive to all our questions, and gave us suggestions for local things to see and do that we might not have found on our own. The cabin is well located for a day trip to Acadia National Park, as well as a jaunt down the coast. Within walking distance of the cabin is the Audobon Nature Center, which has beautiful hiking trails and views, as well as access to two lakes. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing cabin getaway that is close to plenty of things to do, give this adorable cabin a try!

Romantic cabin getaway
LOVED this property! Josh was very responsive but also respected privacy. The cabin itself was quaint, cute, romantic. Main complaint was the couch/futon....SO uncomfortable! But compensated with pillows. Bought a DVD player since weather knocked out the cable, but overall an incredible weekend!

"Fairy House"
Anyone who is a fan of Tolkien and "The Hobbit" needs to visit this tiny house in Orrington. It's a magical place. And Josh the owner is a dear. Definitely want to plan another stay - and again hike all the trails at the Field's Pond Audubon Center which is right next door. All five of the trails have their own special magic too!

Cottage Straight Out of a Storybook!
My husband rented this adorable cottage for a few nights, for our 30th anniversary. It did not disappoint at all! Josh was great to work with! He made sure the lights were on and the door was unlocked when we got there, because we were arriving late evening. Any questions I had he was quick to respond. The cottage is decorated beautifully. Everywhere you turn, there's a another amazing piece of artwork to look at. I took several pictures and my friends were amazed at all of the detail. We enjoyed the location also. It's in the middle of nowhere, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was about an hour and a half from Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. The price is very reasonable. You'd pay so much more staying in the Bar Harbor area. My husband and I totally recommend this cottage! It's perfect for a couple or a small family, since there is a loft above for children. You will not be disappointed!

Perfection!
I was looking for a jumping off point to explore Bangor and Acadia and came across this little gem. It was absolutely perfect for what I wanted. It is a rustic little storybook of a house with just enough room for one or two people or a small family. It is in a lovely wooded setting with lots of window space so you feel like you are living outdoors. There are neighbors somewhat nearby but no one close enough to see into the space. The cottage is quaintly decorated with lots of local touches and is appointed with all the necessary items one needs to live comfortably. You will see other reviews that advise that the shower loses hot water quickly but I did not have any trouble. I do tend to take quick showers and I did not test it to the extreme but I did not run out of hot water on my four mornings in the cottage. The bed was comfortable and the shower and water closet were clean, as was everything in the kitchen area. There is a bird sanctuary about a mile and a half up the road which was nice to amble through. Bangor is about 12 minutes away and Acadia and Bar Harbor are about an hour. Should I have the opportunity to visit Maine again, I will definitely be coming back to this lovely little home. Thanks to Josh and his family for letting me borrow a little piece of their delightful part of the country.

Magical cottage tucked in the woods
Lovely rustic getaway! Don’t let rustic dissuade you though. This place has everything you need for a peaceful retreat including fabulous flora of all types. While you may feel you are a workd away, Bangor is a but 15 minute drive. Don’t miss the Orono Bog Walk. Bring plenty of bug spray!!!

Inadequate!
Was hoping use as an away from home work rental but was extremely disappointed! Multiple issues with the property - limited parking, the walkway was covered in ice and mud (ended up falling) - it was not cleared, no bathroom sink, very limited TV channels, and NO water pressure for the shower (to clean up the mud after falling)... I left the same day as I checked in and the homeowner will not issue arefund - even after contacting them multiple times - very unresponsive! Never again!

This is the cutest VRBO! We were charmed!
Cozy little house. Perfect for a party of 2 but could accommodate 4 with twin beds in the loft. Hiking trails at Fields Pond which is just down the road. Road trip to Camden was great with many antique shops. Pretty high end shopping right in Camden. Wonderful seafood at The Warf restaurant. Beautiful drive down the coast of Maine! Before arriving here, we spent 5 days in Bass Harbor and saw the sights in Acadia Natl Park. Fall colors at peak!

Cute and quaint
We enjoyed staying at the “Well House”, but were a little uncomfortable with the uncovered windows. We were not sure how to walk to the lake without disturbing others. The location was good for us as we wanted to be close to Bucksport and driving distance to other attractions.

A wonderful escape
We stayed at the Well House for a few days after Christmas. It was fantastic. The cottage is very cute and homey. It was below zero at night the whole time we were there. Hitting -10 and lower a few times. It was a bit cold sometimes in the cottage. The only best source is the small gas fire place in the kitchen area. If it’s possible to get a secondary heat source or space heater in the bed area for deep winter times this place would have absolutely everything you need to get away. Even with it a bit chilly our stay was still remarkable. Make sure you bring everything you need in order to cook anything. There are a few spices however. Plenty of dishes and cookware to use. The loft upstairs is done up for a cute area for kids primarily with two beds. I could find myself just kicking back relaxing at this place for a good long time. It gave us the perfect escape we needed to relax and recharge. I highly recommend staying here at some point if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

absolutely adorable
my husband and I arrived rather late in the night. The cabin was ultra cozy, lit up perfectly and incredibly homey. Josh went out of his way to ensure that if the power was still out we would be comfy. The Well House in Loon Hollow is an inspiration to tiny home lovers, and a perfect get away from home. :)

A whimsical cottage I could call home!
Sweet cottage full of fun fantasy decor and furniture -- fairies, frogs, owls, and poems of kindness decorate the walls upstairs and down. Very comfortable bedding too. A prefect get-away into the woods. Nicely constructed building with a warm feeling too it. Beautiful wooden ladder to loft area designed for children with toys, etc. -- OK, I do not qualify as a child but my Shid Tzu & I loved it up stairs in this cozy little house. Lots of wooded light and fresh air, skylights. A well stocked kitchen with tools, oil, seasonings, foil, plastic, etc. Pleasant location in a peaceful environment. The owner is a nice person who is kind/helpful too.

Perfect weekend getaway in a cozy well maintained cabin!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long Holiday weekend with our two dogs. The cabin was the perfect size, clean and furnished with all amenities. It is located on a quiet street with a beautiful pond at the end with only a few other houses. This provided peace and quiet while still being close enough to others to not feel completely secluded. The town is closely located to Bangor and Brewer, both of which we visited for dinner. The cabin is also located about an hour away from Acadia & Bar Harbor which we visited most days. Josh was extremely accommodating, helpful and an all around great guy. We will definitely be back!

Great little cabin in the woods.
We stayed at this little cabin for our son's graduation from UMaine Orono. It was the perfect location. Extremely clean and well maintained. Great response from the owner answering any questions we had. The cabin is the perfect size for two adults and little ones. Although the site says it's a one bedroom, the cabin is an open floor plan including the comfy queen bed. So privacy might be an issue if you had more than two adults. One draw back is the very small hot water tank for showers - it runs out pretty quick. We learned to take fast showers. :-) Despite these small quirks, we completely enjoyed our stay and will be staying again if we find ourselves visiting the Bangor area again. We highly recommend staying here!

A great experience
Staying at this quaint and cute cottage was a great experience for us. The location was great—the cottage served as a superb jumping-off point for visits to Acadia National Park and many other Down-East Maine sites. We had a great time kayaking on the lake while we stayed there.

I stayed in the Well House for 2 weeks while kayaking, biking, and hiking on the Bangor area. I LOVED the little cottage! It was so comfortable, nicely appointed, clean, in a quiet area--I really felt right at home. It is also on a beautiful pond (Fields Pond) with amazing wildlife and a partial coastline and island owned by the Audubon Society. Josh was very accommodating. I highly recommend it.

Perfect Cozy cottage for a 3-day weekend
We spent Easter weekend at the cottage (me, wife, and two adult boys). There was plenty of room, everything worked, Josh was very responsive (not that there was anything for him to really respond to). Beds were clean and comfortable, linens were clean, cottage was clean throughout, I can't think of a single "con". We would definitely recommend this cottage to travelers to Maine.
