The town of San Felice, which is the ancient San Felice Scovolo, preserves in its historical centre the remains of the ancient Castle, the Palazzo Rotingo, built in the 17th century, now the Town Hall.
A walk through the centre reveals the former Monte di Pietà di San Felice, an elegant Venetian-style building with a five-arched portico and square ashlar stone pillars.
It was once the seat of the municipal government, and now that the town's activities have turned decisively towards tourism, it is home to the Information Office and an Exhibition Hall that hosts numerous exhibitions by contemporary artists.
San Felice - Sanctuary of the Carmine
The baroque Parish Church, dedicated to the Martyrs Saint Felice, Saint Adauto and Saint Flavia, is located right in the centre of the village and contains valuable works of art, including an altarpiece by Romanino, making it well worth a visit. Just outside the historic centre of San Felice del Benaco is the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Carmine, an ancient Romanesque church built in 1460 and run by Carmelite friars.
San Felice - Portese
It is home to a very active Nautical Club that promotes various events including the "Trofeo dell'Esposizione", "Lui e lei" and the great summer initiative "Trans Benaco cruise race".
Also worth seeing is the Castle, built in the early Middle Ages to defend the town from barbarian raids, of which only a stub of a round tower remains.
On the nearby promontory of San Fermo, facing the Isola del Garda, there is a 15th century church of the same name that offers a very suggestive and panoramic view of Lake Garda from above.
