Even children can swim without worry or danger at the salt water swimming pool, which is protected by an artificial stone barrier. Just off the beaches of Quercianella, which have the same salty taste in the air as cosmopolitan Livorno, are the wild and unspoiled islands of Gorgona and Capraia, two absolute jewels of the Tuscan archipelago that are definitely worth a visit.
