On the northern coast of the Peloponnese, close to the town of Aigio and about 30km from Patras, lies the small village of Selianitika directly on the sea. With a beautiful wide view of the sea, the Corinthian Gulf and the opposite coast of Boeotia up to the Elikonas mountain peak, the village stands on a gentle slope. It is a small village with tavernas, bakeries, grocery shops, banks and other shops for daily needs. It is tranquil, rural and Greek. In a quiet lane, on a gentle slope and within walking distance of the village and various beaches in the village, is the property Meraki.
In the middle of the village of Selianitika, surrounded by a wonderful, enclosed garden plot, is the charming property Meraki. From a former old village house with a small stable, the German owner couple has fulfilled their dream. Behind the entrance gate is a lovingly designed courtyard with 2 beautifully restored houses and a magnificent garden. What awaits guests here is seclusion, peace, relaxation and a well-kept ambience.
The holiday home Meraki is surrounded on one side by its beautiful garden and close to the small landlord's house on the other side. The Mediterranean flowering garden, overgrown with shady trees, olive, orange, fig, pomegranate trees, colourful bougainvillea and oleander is the heart of this holiday home and reflects all the German landlords' fondness for Greek nature. The old village house from the 70s was renovated in 2014 and converted into a comfortable holiday home. Two-storey, tastefully furnished, equipped with selected objects and furniture and discreet, contemporary furnishings, this holiday home offers everything for a successful, carefree holiday. The beautiful garden with its terraces offers plenty of seating and shady spots on some hot days.
Ground-level entrance via the courtyard. The spacious living and dining room area offers enough space to sit together, read or relax. Next to the dining area with decorative fireplace is the living room, separated by curtains. Adjacent to the living/dining room is the self-contained kitchen with direct access to the property's courtyard and garden, and the bathroom.
On the upper floor is a small living area separated by curtains, equipped with a futon bed for 1 person, with direct exit to a large covered terrace and view of the garden. Adjacent to this is 1 bedroom with balcony and view of the sea and the opposite coast, the second bedroom and the shared bathroom.
Away from the tourist towns, dreamy, quiet and lovingly maintained, the place offers the best setting for a relaxing, informal holiday by the sea. If you are looking for a quiet, well-kept, comfortable ambience for your holiday far away from the bustling mass tourism, then this holiday home meets all requirements.
The small house, situated at the entrance to the courtyard is occupied by the landlord couple for a few months of the year. Part of the courtyard and garden is occasionally shared by the landlord's family.
The main beach in the village of Selianitika is on the doorstep and within easy walking distance of 300m. It is an extensive beach with various partly managed beach sections, with sun loungers, umbrellas, tavernas and cafés.
The location of the holiday home Meraki is ideal for a casual holiday, with easy access from Athens airport and Patras ferry port. An ideal starting point for walks or for visits to the ancient settlements to Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Epidauros or Olympia.
To the port of Patras it is 30km, to the nearest town, to Aigio just 7km and to the airport of Athens 2 hours. There is a suburban train connection between Athens airport and Aigio several times a day.
