The ski area:
The Skiliftkarussell Winterberg in Sauerland offers fun on the slopes on seven mountains. With 34 runs, which come to 27.5 kilometers of slopes, it is the largest contiguous area above the Main. In addition, Winterberg scores with a modern infrastructure and night skiing that is unparalleled in western Germany.
The area around the Herrlohkopf (lifts no. 17-19) and on the Bremberg (lifts no. 9-11) and at lift no. 15 on the Kummelhang is recommended for beginners. The slopes do not have a great gradient, offer space and are still manageable. Here you can practice your own driving technique in peace and quiet. The Herrlohkpf is particularly suitable for little ski newcomers, because a huge children's area with a magic carpet, colorful figures and a tipi tent awaits them here on 10,000 square meters.
If you feel a little safer, you can switch to the Poppenberg. Here, red-marked pistes invite you to carve. On the opposite side, the cap lures with a black descent. In addition to the bobsled run, which the world's best skiers ride every year, all ski professionals can also head down to the valley at high speed. The slalom slope on the Herrlohkopf (No. 2) is also one of the steepest north of the Alps. The black marked slope at the cap should not be missed by professionals.
Night skiing & floodlight skiing:
Even in the evening, the ski lift carousel is far from over. Every Tuesday and Friday, depending on the snow conditions, a total of 14 pistes with a total length of eight kilometers are brightly lit from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Winterberg thus offers the largest range of floodlight driving in western Germany.
