About this property

Classic apartment with two balconies

My appartement is light, sunny, fresh and furnished classically and cosy. The balcony on the street side is on the east side so you can drink your coffee in the morning over there. On the back side you can enjoy a glass of wine in the sunset! It’s located on a super lively and very popular street where neighbours, shop- and restaurant-owners know each other. Feel free to ask your questions.

The space
Open-kitchen plan with a balcony on the west, a living room with a balcony on the east.
A bathroom, one bedroom in the back and the guest room in the front of the house, with a sofa bed; changeable from 80 to 160 cm’s. I choose the best option has new mattresses but they’re not thick (7 cm). It’s fine, but not great, a grown-up shouldn’t sleep on it for more than two or three nights.

Guest access
You’re welcome everywhere in the house! As you might have suspected, I like antique. All the furniture I bought at the Amsterdam auction (Veilinghuis De Zwaan), so please handle with care, thank you so much in advance!

Other things to note
Welcome to place! :-) It’s not perfect, But.. clean, cosy and comfortable. If you’re only here for partying, don’t rent this place; the house has thin walls -like every house in this poorly build, but extremely popular area (de Pijp). I’m very lucky living between neighbours who use the stairs, the doors very quiet after around 22:00. Music can be played, but not too loud and rather inside than on the balcony. Rather without a techno/ strong bass kind of vibe. Also, please handle my interior with care, since I normally just live here (it’s not commercial renting), nothing is build ‘idiot-proof’. The accessories are mostly from Argentina. Always, always double check FIRE SAFETY especially before leaving and sleeping!

great apartment in De Pijp
My family and I had a wonderful time in Amsterdam and a big part of our experience was this apartment and where it is located. We wanted to stay in De Pijp which is full of cafes, restaurants, stores, and a great market (Albert Cuyp). At the same time, it is also a relaxed neighborhood with a lovely park (Sarphati) where many Amsterdam families and residents live - not like the heavy commercial setting in the center of Amsterdam. It is also close to the museums, historical interests, and the center area, whether you travel by bike or the train. The apartment was lovely and comfortable with one bedroom for my wife and one bedroom for my adult daughter. The living areas and kitchen were really nice and functional - perfect for winding down after a fun day or making dinner. There were 2 terraces - one looking out on the street and one overlooking the back courtyard. It is not a large apartment, yet it was just the right size for us. It is decorated as a lived-in home - and for us, for that week - it felt like our home. Louise is a really nice host who was great with communication and answering questions. She also had great suggestions of local stores, cafes and restaurants right near the apartment. We had a great time and I highly recommend Louise’s apartment for your Amsterdam adventure.
