For example, visit the village of Veenhuizen with its prison museum. The Drents-Friese Wold National Park is great for walking and cycling. The provincial capitals of Assen and Groningen and the Frisian town of Drachten are not far away. A trip to the Wadden Islands of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog is also a great day activity during your vacation in Friesland.
