The house is located on the border region of Skane, Smaland and Blekinge, east of Kristianstad, in Sweden's southernmost wilderness.
The 160km journey from Trelleborg takes you through Sweden's beautiful forest and lake-rich nature in about 2 hours. The nearest and largest lake in the region, the Halen with a bathing area, is only 3.5km away and the Baltic Sea is 15km away. You can fish here for free. Salmon fishing in Mörrum is also very popular. At the Halen campsite you can rent a boat or kayak and bicycles cheaply. There are beautiful circular hiking trails around the lakes, also suitable for bicycles, some with lighting and in winter there are cross-country ski trails. A suspension bridge now allows longer walks around the lakes.
This detached holiday home, which can be lived in all year round, is in a quiet location on the outskirts of the town and the small town centre with supermarket and pizzeria as well as the bus stop in the small town of Jämshög are within walking distance. It is a settlement with holiday homes and properties that are lived in all year round. At the rear, the property borders on a forest area with hiking trails.
A large living room and a sunny balcony invite you to get together in a relaxed atmosphere. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset here. There is garden furniture, a grill, parasol and a bike rack.
The holiday home has a large, bright living room combined with a dining room and an open kitchen. This is equipped with running cold and hot water, a large fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster as well as a dishwasher. There are 3 bedrooms, one with baby bed 0.60x1.20m and a bathroom with shower, all on one floor.
The guest toilet is in the basement, as is an additional storage room with wardrobes.
There is also a TV to pass the time, but ONLY for VHS players (German & Swedish videos available) and DVD players as well as lots of toys, books, games, puzzles and painting materials.
The house is solidly built & winterproof. It is heated with an efficient & energy-saving air heat pump and, if required, with individual flexible heating elements/radiators. Hot water is heated cheaply & quickly with a 110L water heater.
There is enough space for several cars, even for a mobile home or boat. The water is municipal and therefore fully drinkable. A rotary clothes dryer is available in the garden for laundry.
Please no inquiries with pets or more people! We often rent to allergy sufferers.
Towels, tea towels and bath mats are available.
Please bring your own bed linen, bath towels, etc.
Package with bed linen/sheets can be booked optionally.
The area is best suited for hiking, fishing, swimming and golfing, but still nice and quiet despite the many holidaymakers in the area, but not lonely or remote. There is also a tourist office in Olofström and you can get tips in German there.
It is the ideal location for exploring southern Sweden and is easily accessible all year round via the motorway connection. In Olofström, 5 km away, there are various shops, a pharmacy, a bank, cafes and restaurants. There is an indoor swimming pool, a bowling alley, an indoor riding school, an adventure playground for children aged 1-15 years and in Holje Park mini golf and market days, music and dance events. Sölvesborg and Karlshamn can be reached in half an hour. Here you can stroll through the Alststad, explore the coast and museums or simply enjoy a day at the beach.
We also recommend a visit to the archipelago, the weekly market and the smokehouses. In summer there are various festivals, markets and events.
Olofström has a hundred lakes, including some larger ones, and is therefore a real canoeing mecca and fishing paradise. The lake area stretches from Olofström across the five large lakes Halen - Raslången - Gillesjön - Filkesjön - Immeln into Skåne. Large parts in the east and northeast of Halen and the adjacent land areas form the 700 hectare Halen nature reserve. Due to the natural connections to the neighboring lakes Raslången, Filkesjön and Immeln in the neighboring province of Skåne, Halen is part of a huge water system. This circumstance, coupled with the numerous branches, bays and islands, make Halen a very popular area for canoeists. The size and varied conditions of the lake have produced a diverse fish population, which also makes the water particularly interesting as a fishing area.
In addition to roach, perch, bream, ruffe and pike, there are also notable stocks of trout, rainbow trout and eels.
The area also has a lot to offer hikers, e.g. the Blekingeleden long-distance hiking trail, which connects to the Skåneleden in the north. There is a lot of forest in Olofström and in late summer/autumn there are also plenty of berries and mushrooms.
For cyclists we recommend the 250 km long Banvallsleden, which runs partly on former railway embankments from Halmstad via Olofström to Karlshamn & the walking/cylking path round Halen 22 km.
Visit Scandinavia's largest safari park Eriksberg near Åryd, located in the largest game reserve in the Nordic region in the Blekinge archipelago. Kristianstadt also has a very beautiful old town. A day trip is worthwhile to see the countless restaurants, cafes and shops as well as some of the many restaurants. free museums, theaters and of course the Vattenrike biosphere reserve and Naturum. Many of our holiday guests have also visited the park and old town of Ronneby, the distillery and the beach of Ahus, the castle in Kalmar, Karlskrona and the IKEA museum in Älmhult. There is also a nice cafe at Immeln and a ferry takes you to the island of Ivö. In the area you can go on longer trips on foot and by bike, and on the larger lakes there are canoe and boat rentals as well as countless barbecue and fishing spots.
The area also offers lots of leisure activities for children, often free of charge. Day trips to Helsingborg and Ullared for shopping, as well as Tosselilla water park near Ystad, Pippi Longstocking Park near Vimmberby, Brio Toy Museum in Osby, the western town of High-Chapparal and the moose park near Markaryd are also recommended. Here you can drive either by your own car or by train through a large moose enclosure and there is a bison valley.
