Ideal facility
We've rented the entire property for several years now for a multi-generation family gathering and have an absolutely wonderful experience every time! The hosts are very responsive and the site has everything we need!! We especially love the dining hall and the outside spaces…

Great place for family reunion
The fact that we had the entire property to ourselves and there was very little traffic in the area allow the cousins to play together throughout the day with our constant adult supervision. It was a wonderful way to have a relaxing time with the extended family. The property manager came by a couple of times to make sure all was well.

A remarkable getaway
I would say that the owner is amazing. He worked with us when there was a hard freeze on the day we were supposed to check-in and let us push the check-in a day later and gave us extra time to get there. We had a family reunion of 46 people aged from 6months to 70 years old. Everybody enjoyed the stay and loved the hospitality. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for getaway from city hustle and bustle and get into a quiet wooded area with beauty all around. I would definitely book this place again!

2nd year here!
We love this place! It’s perfect for our multi-generational reunion… minor cleanliness & maintenance issues, but nothing interfered with the quality of time together! We had extra beds, and plenty of bathrooms. Basic necessities were provided in each building. Host/manger very accommodating! Thank you!!

Great space for extended family fun!
We struggle to find a place big enough for our annual family weekend. This place was great. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and to have fun without being on top of one another. The dining hall is not as big as the pictures make it appear, but it was a great space for our family of almost 30 people to gather for meals and games. We even set up a small bounce house for the toddlers in the dining hall since it was 100+ degrees outside. There are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed around the property, but we had a great experience any way. The place has a very campy feel. If you are looking for luxury, you may be disappointed, If you are looking for space inside and out, this is the place for you. The owners and the onsite manager were great! They quickly responded to all questions and issues.

Wonderful Stay
We had a total of 41 people stay here for a church youth camp. We rented all the cabins and had plenty of room leftover. The grounds are huge and beautiful, plenty of space to run around and setup lawn games. The cabins were great, I personally think the pictures on VRBO undersell the property. With any cabin of this size, there are going to be slight issues, but all in all we were extremely pleased with our stay.

Excellent Location for a Large Gathering
Our group of 9 couples (36 people - 18 adults/18 kids) had a great 4 days at Tall Timbers Retreat over Spring Break 2020. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably as each cabin is well provisioned. We had a couple toddlers in the group and found pack n plays and high chairs readily available. On site are a few basketball hoops, playground equipment, a hiking trail through the woods, a massive (~15 ft diameter) fire pit, and a wide open grassy area. I’d guess the open area is 30x100 yards. It slopes a bit, but the whole area is definitely usable. It rained quite a bit during one of our days and there was plenty of indoor room for everyone to play. We cooked all of our meals in the professional kitchen you can see in the pictures. Everything we used worked great. Outside is a grill that is large enough to cook for our group. The Chow Hall is large and outfitted with table/chairs. It also has an ice machine that was very useful. The owners of the facility were very responsive to our questions. They also gave us the name of a fire wood company that was very affordable. We burned 1/2 cord of wood in three nights. The location is close enough to Nacogdoches to run into town for anything you forgot. They also have an on site property manager who is friendly and helpful. Cell coverage was fine (AT&T). If you are planning a family reunion, work retreat or just need a large space for a big group, Tall Timbers will definitely fit the bill!

Fantastic Location for Family Gatherings
Our second large family get together at Tall Timbers, and we would do it again! The kitchen/dining hall was perfect for meals and dancing, s'mores and singing by the fire pit all 3 nights, and it was so peaceful under the stars. The equipment and cabins were in great shape when we got there, and the owners promptly responded to questions or concerns. Would plan my next family reunion in Nacogdoches, just so we can all stay there again!

We had a great time. It's a peaceful place!
One toilet in one of the houses didn't work. And an oven in the dining area kitchen wasn't working. Everything else was great!

The property was beautiful!
We had a small church retreat and everything was accommodating. The rooms were fixed beautifully and the kitchens were perfect. There were some comments from church members that upon arrival, they noticed the microwaves were not clean especially the one in the lodge. They said it wasn't cleaned out. Other than that, we had a wonderful retreat and the kids loved petting the animals! Thank you tall timbers retreat! We would love to come back! We recommend this place!

Our Family's Reunion
Sixteen members of my family enjoyed our 3 night stay at Tall Timbers. It was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 8 children. The dining hall was spacious, had many things for the kids to do, and was very pleasant. The cabins were nice sized, clean, and comfortable. The owner was very accommodating and promptly responded to every question or request. We would definitely stay there again, if we decide to go back to Nacogdoches.

We loved it! Looking forward to coming back again!
Took our youth group of 30 to Tall Timbers for a 2 night retreat and we all loved it! Plenty of space for all our activities. The cabins were very clean and most importantly very comfy! The dining hall was great, perfect for our worship time and plenty of space for everyone to eat together. We were treated very good from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Owners personally came by to make sure everything was good. We are definitely looking forward to coming back real soon!

Family Reunion
Our stay was beautiful. We had family from all over Texas, Oklahoma and California that met at the location and couldn't of had a better time. The facilities were perfect and the owners were attentive to our every need. I couldn't have imagined anything better for our family. From the younger kids to our elderly in a mobile chair, everyone felt right at home and left with the muscles in their faces hurting from smiling all weekend.

Wonderful Family Gathering!
Our family of 36 stayed at Tall Timbers over the July 4th weekend. What a fantastic place to celebrate! The dining hall was the perfect gathering place for our entire group-it was so nice to be able to all eat together. Our tweens enjoyed the karaoke machine along with the games provided. There were also balls to play with and younger kid toys available in the cabin hallway. The cabins were nicely furnished and very clean and the beds were all comfy-enough beds for all!! Candy was so sweet in arranging and giving the kids pony and horse rides. Her children were very respectful and did not intrude on our gathering at all. Blake and Robin, the owners, were so sweet to work with our large family to make our summer's gathering a special one. We would love to come again!

I was quite taken aback by the property especially for the price charged. An out of service Water Heater with exposed wires in my cabin, along with a broken bathroom door knob I fixed. Knee high grass that should have been mowed before we arrived, not after our arrival. Kitchen in the dining hall was gross. Grease tray under griddle, was full of grease, old sausage, and maggots eating on the sausage. The cooler and freezer were not turned on prior to our arrival. "Caretaker" said we hadn't paid for that service until we showed him the receipt. Ice maker in the dining hall was inoperable. Ping pong table in the dining hall had to be duct taped together so we could use it. Flea infested dogs and cats wandering around. No one taking care of the animals or the property as far as I can tell. If I had wanted to go camping I would have gone to a State Park. I won't be back and don't recommend it to anyone.

Great!
Tall Timbers was wonderful! My group was there for a retreat and it was perfect. The dining hall was great for everyone but each room was private enough that no one felt like they couldn't get away from the crowd. They also set up zip lining with zip nac and did shirts for the event! They even set up dinner to be catered by a local BBQ place. Also, since we are a sorority at SFA, it was super convenient and easy to get to. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back next year.

First time being in a cabins area in Nacogdoches! This location was a beautiful site! The dining facilities are well maintained and over all has a welcoming Home away from home feeling! The owners were very attentive and a pleasure to be around with! Their cabins are very clean and never noticed anything to be concerned about! Can't wait to come back for our next retreat!
