Pheasant Hill Cabin. A cozy cabin and dog friendly.
This quaint cabin is 1.5 miles from the heart of historical Julian, CA. A private property, this is the perfect place for a couple's getaway, a nice family vacation or even just a group of friends looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. A fenced back yard is perfect for a dog (note: our neighbors have dogs), while the enormous front deck allows for a great hang out spot and night time star gazing. The cabin is a studio layout with a queen bed and queen sofa bed. The kitchen has everything you could need for your stay including a full size fridge.
The cabin is on its own property and is not attached or shared by any other building.
Forested neighborhood of Kentwood-In-The-Pines, in the mountains is quiet, lots of birds. (and wild turkeys!)
Winter note: please be aware that it can snow in winter and you should check the weather conditions and be prepared with chains or a 4x4. Our road usually gets cleared but not always (our neighbor has a snow plow). Locals often park at the end of the driveway in snow to make access to the street easier.

We had such a relaxing getaway in Julian at the Pheasant Hill Cabin; clean, cozy, and full of charm with nice modern touches. Our two golden retriever service dogs loved the backyard, and we truly appreciated how welcoming it was for them. Larry was responsive and kind, and weâre already wishing we stayed longer. Weâll definitely be back!
Awsome away from city and cozy nice! It was a relaxing cabin to be in!

Hey were so glad you had a good experience. It does feel amazing to get out of the city...even though it's only an hour away, Julian really does feel like another time and place!!
Hope we see you again soon!
The cabin went above expectations and genuinely was such a nice place to stay. I especially appreciated how there were instructions for any appliance/amenity that had the potential to be confusing, so everything was easy to use. Also, my husband mentioned he liked how there was something for everyone in the family to enjoy - between the games, the fireplace, the fenced yard and more. Finally, it was such a close and easy drive to downtown Julian. We honestly wished we could've stayed longer!
Very cute little place and convenient. High end touches make this studio cozy and comfortable.

Thank you so much! We love to hear comments from return guests!
And we're constantly trying to improve and add to the experience - I mean, it's our home as well so maybe we're just being selfish. Haha. But we take all feedback and always try to think what we can do!!
Looking forward to seeing you again soon,!

We try and provide everything that people would need...and since it's our second home, we try and provide all the things we need in a kitchen, haha.
It was a pleasure hosting you.
Wonderful stay with thoughtful and lovely upgrades. We absolutely love staying at the cabin each October and we can't wait for next year. Always a fantastic stay at Pheasant Hill.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay!! The pics of Harper are super cute. Thank you for being such great guests and for such good communication!!
Our 5th stay. My husband and I love this cabin for quick weekend getaways. Cozy, complete with amenities, a lovely deck and quiet neighborhood. The fact that we can bring our frurry child is a bonus. The fenced backyard is perfect. Spring is upon us and the lush, long grass and weeds made it hard for poop pick up. It was clear to see with random stools in the yard showed other visitors had the same issue. We apologize for any poops we missed!Weâll be back! Thank you for sharing cabin

We're so glad you keep coming back to pheasant hill cabin!! We hope you've enjoyed some of the improvements and changes and hope to see you again!
We're sorry about the poop, lol. This weather has thrown the garden into a tizzy. A week ago we had light snow and freezing weather, and then light rain and beautiful sunshine! We have our gardener on it now and appreciate guests like you that clean up after tbeir furry friends!!
Hope to see you soon!
Cabin was really cozy. Anything you could possibly need ( towels, dishes, microwave, etc ) was provided. I loved hanging out by the fireplace at night. There were notes spread throughout with instructions for the lights and other things. Our stay went smoothly. I would definitely book another trip here again!!

Hello Wendy!
Thank you so much for the kind words and we're so happy you enjoyed your stay!!
Since the cabin is our second home, we really try and make sure we provide everything that we, and thus our guests, could use during their stay!! And we still try and improve wherever we can.
I chuckled a bit and I'm glad you found our signs helpful...i know staying at a strange house can be confusing sometimes and so we try to point out things to take the guesswork out of some of the cabin's quirks.
We hope to see you again soon and thanks again!!
We had a great stay at Pheasant Hill, and would stay again on our next trip up to Julian! Easy check-in and great communication with our hosts. Very convenient location to Main Street and Julian itself exceeded our expectations. Our dog Franklin especially enjoyed the accommodations.
It was a quaint and peaceful neighborhood in the woods outside of Julian. Easy to access. Easy parking.

Thank you for the review and we're glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin!
We also like that we're close enough to town without being in town, lol.
We hope to see you again soon!!
We're a local San Diego couple and live between Julian and San Diego - this is our weekend/vacation home. So we use the cabin as well and just love being up in the mountains in the quiet woods! We were going up to Julian so often that we thought we would buy a home here and make it that much easier!
Why they chose this property
It's quiet and peaceful without being isolated - it's a short trip into town so you can grab food, drink and PIE and be back home quickly. You can also walk or ride a bike! We also have some incredible neighbors and love that people still walk the neighborhood and always wave!
What makes this property unique
The cabin was built in 1965 and still maintains some of the original fittings. The inside is all knotty pine and very open! The kitchen area is original as is the sink and the one in the bathroom.
