Best host and property ever
I cannot endorse enough the host for this property - so thoughtful, kind, responsive, caring, and genuine. She thought of EVERYTHING. Arrived to chocolate and flowers, a comprehensive book for how to use the home and where to go in Boulder, and just the sweetest space with endless character. I wish I could have stayed a year. Worth every penny.

Cutest Bungalow Ever
My husband and I spent a month at this cute bungalow in Boulder. We had several rounds of guests during that time. Everyone loved it—so close to Pearl Street and the boutique Whole Foods Ideal Market. Lots of nice restaurants in Boulder as well as vistas, hikes, and drives. This house was the perfect location for everything.

Home away from home
There’s so much to say… From the moment we walked through the fabulously crafted wooden gate into the GARDENS of Bungalow Asio, we knew; This is THE place to be. THEN, the rest of the experience also exceeded expectations. Donna is now a good friend and balanced hanging out with being very attentive to our needs. She offered so many ways to improve our stay - starting with chocolate and wine, to making sure the bikes were just right, to bringing books over that our son would like…We were so happy to have her close by as well - we loved getting to know her ❤️ The beds were SO comfortable and the rooms were just right. The kitchen was stocked to the brim with the perfect equipment. We didn’t need a thing (though I suggested a frother would be fun for morning coffee). The location is too notch - biking or walking everywhere was key. We often went into town or hiked up Sanitas or biked to Ideal Market. The location couldn’t be better because we were close to everything yet also had a personal oasis in the front AND back yard. We will certainly be back. We miss is already ❤️ Thank you for making BA so special, Donna. Xoxo

Exactly What We Hoped it Would Be
We decided to move the tent to Boulder for a month, working remotely but also hiking and running. The house was perfect for two of us and for one week, family (couple). We loved the house - just the fight balance of coziness and neatness - and found the kitchen perfect for cooking. You know those rentals where there are inexplicable kitchen appliance parts that don't fit together? That's not this house. Here, everything you need is here and it all works. The location was great for us, giving us places to run if we were in a rush but letting us get out of town quickly for more scenic runs and hikes.

Great Experience
We had a wonderful time in Donna’s home. The Asio house is so cute!!! We stayed for almost 3 months and felt right at home. And, the master bed is really comfortable. The house is thoughtfully decorated and the kitchen is super well stocked. There is everything you need. And, both the front and backyard are amazing! The neighborhood is lovely and really close to the trails, downtown and supermarket. Highly recommend:)

What a gem!
What a gem! I've stayed in plenty of VRBO and AirBnB properties, but I've never stayed in one as thoroughly and thoughtfully outfitted as Bungalow Asio. From the plush towels and bedding to the fully stocked kitchen (every pot, pan, and spice you need--plus a Viking stove and Vitamix!) to the super comfy couch and remote-controlled gas fireplace . . . We had everything we needed for a delightful month in Boulder. Cute, cozy (but surprisingly roomy, too), clean as a whistle, and convenient. The location couldn't be better. Loved being able to walk to grocery stores and hiking trails. I couldn't recommend a property more enthusiastically! Thanks, Donna and Greg, for such a lovely stay!

Lovely Boulder Home
We enjoyed our stay in July 2016 at Bungalow Asio. The location of the home was ideal for a work/play vacation in Boulder. The owners were very responsive to our needs during the stay. We would absolutely love to return one day.

Look no further, you found your home away from home
We were looking for a home away from home in Boulder for our family, as we traveled to Boulder to await the arrival of our baby girl. Donna and Greg could not have been more thoughtful and hospitable during our entire stay (they even brought over dinner once baby was home from the hospital). I agree with all other reviews that it is the perfect long term rental, in a perfect location, with the perfect hosts. The kitchen is fantastic and has EVERYTHING one could want/need to cook family meals. Everything in the home is top quality and thoughtfully selected, carefully maintained and meticulously cleaned. Donna and Greg even created a list of activities we could do with our 4-year-old. They had strollers, bikes, toys, books, baby carrier, etc. ready to go for us in case we needed it. We had plenty of room for a family of three, an au pair, and a new baby for the last week of our stay. We attended a local event or two in the neighborhood, walked to North Boulder Rec Center (awesome indoor pool with fun water slides for children) and many of the fantastic playgrounds within walking distance. It was perfect! We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years and this one outshines any of our stays by a long shot. You will not regret staying at this wonderful home.

Wonderful Boulder Experience
My family and I stayed this summer at Bungalow Asio to get a full month Boulder adventure. The Bungalow was the perfect long term rental for us. There were 6 total people (4 adults, 2 kids-3 yrs and 6 yrs) staying very comfortably. Upon our arrival, we saw the magical gardens surrounding the house and enclosed by a wall/fence for total privacy. The landscaping was magnificent and allowed our girls the freedom to safely wander inside and out at anytime. Once inside, the home was perfectly laid out for maximum comfort and enjoyment. My young girls enjoyed the toy nook with lots of wooden and unique toys and books. We loved cooking together in the open gourmet kitchen. Donna and Greg stocked the kitchen with every tool and appliance necessary. Each room was cozy, comfortable and filled with natural light. We ate dinner many nights outside on the back table then afterwards to play cards. The outside couch was perfect for conversations and kiddie cuddles. Greg and Donna have also stocked the bungalow with bikes! Plenty of adult bikes, a trailer for the young ones, a tag-a-long for our 6 year old, and even a tandem. Just the convenience of riding our bikes at anytime (as opposed to renting like we have had to do in the past) made our experience that much better. The location of the bungalow is perfect. You can hop on the bike path easily, ride to Pearl St in less than 10 mins, ride to the pool in under 5 mins, etc. We highly recommend Bungalow Asio for anyone wanting a true authentic Boulder experience.

Home away from home in a welcoming neighborhood!
We are a family of 5 with young children, ages 5-12, and Bungalow Asio could not have been any more perfect for our 53-night stay! I researched properties for hours before finding Donna and Greg's place and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the place for us to call home for an extended work assignment in Boulder. The location is ideal, in an incredibly family friendly and welcoming neighborhood with a large community garden and a short walk to the North Boulder Recreation Center. It's a short bike ride down to Pearl Street, which we did multiple times a week. Every detail is attended to in this beautiful, comfortable and homelike rental. The kitchen has a gas stove that we used to full advantage, baking and cooking daily. The kitchen is also fully stocked with spices and staples, high quality pans, and every appliance you think you might want to use - even a crockpot and food processor! The design of everything is beautiful and feels like a real home, not a rental place. The bathrooms have everything you need - shampoo, hairdryer, plenty of towels. There are even beach towels if you want to go to the nearby Rec Center or Reservoir. The beds are very comfortable and the bed linens are high quality. Donna and Greg have bikes and helmets stocked for every size, from preschoolers to adults. We took full advantage of this and biked almost everywhere. I didn't fill my car up with gas for 6 weeks!! I have already recommended this place to so many people. Hands down, the best rental we have ever stayed in, anywhere. Thank you so much, Donna and Greg, for making this such a wonderful travel experience!

Absolutely perfect!!
From the moment we walked in through the front door we were in love with Bungalow Asio. Donna was such a wonderful hostess, offered to purchase groceries before our arrival (since we got in late), left fresh organic fruit, chocolates, coffee and beautiful flowers throughout. Every detail was thought out...the kitchen fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, the super cute bathrooms with plenty of towels, hair dryers, shampoo/conditioner/soap, bedrooms with the most comfortable beds ever (high quality linens and extras for changing if you like). The living area was super sweet and cozy with a great fireplace, comfy chairs and sofa and spacious enough for our whole family. There were bikes to ride into town (about 3 blocks to the whole foods and 1 mile to pearl street) but walking was also really easy to get to town as well. I am a property manager in Hawaii so I know what it takes and have very high standards. I can honestly say that our stay here exceeded my expectations and we can't wait to return!! Thank you Donna & Greg!!

Totally Wonderful
Our family spent Thanksgiving at Bungalow Asio and the house was the perfect setting. The kitchen was fully stocked with roasting pans, pie spices, and everything we needed. We expanded the table for the six of us and had quite a feast. The beds are very comfortable, the TV in the loft great for the game watchers, and the living room worked well for visiting and reading. And even the weather was terrific and we sat outside in the lounge chairs and enjoyed the sunshine. Would love to stay there again and highly recommend it.

Best VRBO Ever
My cousin and I chose Bungalow Asio as our retreat for a week of quilting. We were in awe by how comfortable, clean and well stocked the bungalow is. Not only is it decorated as a work of art, the attention to detail is phenomenal. So many amenities were provided and all were of the highest quality. Our hosts treated us like family. One of the highlights of our stay was finding the apple tree in the back yard. We picked fresh apples and made an apple pie! Boulder is a beautiful city with friendly people, scenic views, great restaurants and so many fun things to do. I am looking forward to a return visit and plan to stay at Bungalow Asio again.

Best VRBO ever!
I have stayed at many VRBO's across the country (Chicago, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Juan Islands...). This VRBO was by far the best. The attention to detail is amazing; the owners, Donna and Greg, are so hospitable; the home is clean, orderly, has supplies, comfort...I cannot say enough good things. They have thought of everything. We are definitely going back next year! Our week was relaxing, the neighborhood quiet, the town beautiful. Thank you Donna and Greg for taking the time to make your home so welcoming!

Whimsical wedding weekend
I rented Bungalow Asio for me and my bridesmaids to stay in for a few days prior to my wedding. It was perfect for a classy girls getaway. The home, the decor, and the garden are so charming. We had everything we needed in the home. And on my wedding day, we had our getting ready pictures in the house and my husband and I did our "first look" pictures in the garden. The photos turned out so beautiful! I am very thankful that we were able to use Bungalow Asio for my wedding weekend.

Can we move here?
Bungalow Asio was picture perfect. Four of us (3 generations) came for a late summer getaway. The bungalow had period charm and impeccable updates, plenty of space to stretch out, a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of a supermarket and downtown Boulder, bikes galore, and a host that quickly felt like a friend right next door. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful property.

The perfect vacation rental for two families!
Earlier this summer my brother and his family, and their best friends came to visit us from Sweden. We rented Bungalow Asio for 10 days and were extremely happy with everything! The house is just as described - even nicer! It is cozy and charming. The kitchen has everything you can ask for. The property is clean and well maintained with a beautiful outdoor dining patio in the back and a big beautiful deck in the front. Donna and Maya were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. This is a fabulous location! You can walk or ride your bike to everything. There were even some cool tandem bikes for us to use! We all rode the bikes to hiking - Sanitas being our daily favorite, grocery-shopping, restaurants - Hungry Toad has the best burger in town, shopping - with Pearl Street (a pedestrian mall) only a few minutes away, yoga at the Yoga Pod - which blew the Swedes away! and Carpenter Pool was a nice treat in the hot afternoons. I would most definitely recommend this property. My brother and company were extremely happy with their stay at Bungalow Asio. They would recommend it as well. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place!

The Best Choice!
Even though the descriptions and pictures of the bungalow are accurate, the property is so much nicer! The house is both beautiful and comfortable with impeccable details throughout. The owners have thought of every need. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you may need to make delicious and creative dinners. Everything was amazingly clean, as well. The outside grounds were just lovely and we had several gatherings outside on the patios. The location is ideal for Boulder; close to good grocery stores, downtown, yet in a quiet neighborhood bordering a beautiful community garden. There were numerous bicycles available, which we used. The owners and manager could not have been more gracious, helpful, and accommodating. I have stayed and rented many properties for my family and this one was the best.

Wonderful place to stay
Our family of 5 stayed at Bungalow Asio in August before back to school. Our children are aged 16, 12 and 9. The house was immaculate with every convenience and the location is great: close to so many restaurants and shops as well as outdoor activities. We made several day trips within a couple of hours to Colorado springs and whitewater rafting in Buena Vista as well as Red Rocks. We spent a couple of days down time at the neighborhood pool just a few blocks away. Highly recommend.

Beautiful house! Upgraded everything. We couldn't believe it was a rental!
The pictures look great, but we were still in awe when we got to the house. It looks and is maintained as though the owners have upgraded everything, including kitchen, bathrooms, furniture, etc. Usually rentals are pretty dumpy, but this house was nicer than my own! We slept 5 in the house very easily, and we didn't even make use of the queen size bed in the loft. I would say this house is a bargain for what you get, especially if you split it with a couple friends.

Like no other. A must stay destination when in Boulder, Colorado.
Bungalow Asio did not disappoint. Exceeded our expectations! The place was immaculate, well equipped with all we could have ever wanted, and beautifully appointed inside and out. This home was remodeled so it would retain the old world charm, but updated with state of the art appliances and fixtures. Absolutely charming in every way! Upon our arrival, the owners presented us with a bottle of wine, fresh fruit and fresh flowers in every room. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. During our stay, they made sure to stay in communication with us in case we needed for anything. Our stay was made perfect because of the care and attention the owners have made to the home and to their guests.

I have resided in Boulder since '91, originally from the DC area. I am a painter (former dancer) and enjoy gardening. My daughter was raised here at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I still live next door to Asio, which I purchased after having been the property manager for the former owner and good friend for over seven years. With the mountains, rivers, and canyons, the university, the thriving music and arts scene, and sports to participate in around every corner, Boulder provides everything I look for in life. It's not surprising it seems to regularly top a lot of the lists for good living.

Why they chose this property

I moved to Boulder in 1991 to attend graduate school at Naropa University. After living in various parts of town, I purchased the house next door to Asio in 2001 (which is where I reside) because of its location, the history of a close-knit neighborhood community, and living well close to downtown. When Asio came up for sale in 2012, I jumped at the chance to save the charming house from the wrecking ball (developers were wanting to build a large, modern house on the property). I spent much of 2013 lovingly and carefully renovating Asio inside and out, striking a balance between preserving and enhancing historic qualities, honoring features from a former artist/carpenter/owner, and including necessary modern conveniences. I think you'll agree we found a good balance.

What makes this property unique

Bungalow Asio is situated perfectly in Boulder, a short walk to shops, restaurants, and cafes, a quick run or bike ride (nice assortment of bikes are provided) to open space trails, three blocks from public transportation, and a fifteen minute walk to the Pearl Street Mall and downtown. Asio is surrounded by an adobe wall and privacy fencing, its property filled with mature trees, flagstone paths and patios, gardens, and three outdoor seating/eating areas. The kitchen makes any chef happy, the antique spiral staircase to the TV/getaway loft charms all ages, the gas fireplace warms up the coldest winter evenings, the swamp cooler (like an A/C) cools the hottest summer days, and the amazing quiet in the house calms all souls.
