About this property

Exclusive Emerald Bay - Thirty Seconds From The Sand

Come inside the guard gated community of Emerald Bay and enjoy one of the most exclusive beaches in California. When the ocean is less than a minute's walk from your front door, you are never far from the swimming, surfing, volleyball, and tennis. Stroll the shoreline at sunrise and barbecue at sunset.

This is our family beach house. It is a quaint 1950's bungalow that sleeps up to eight guests. It is approximately 1,600 square feet.

The upstairs/downstairs separation is ideal for two families wanting privacy, with a common social area.

Upstairs is a master bedroom with a king-sized bed; a bedroom with two twin beds; a full bathroom; family room; dining room; kitchen; and small yard, with barbecue patio.

Downstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed; adjoining sleeping loft with a double bed and a king bed; a 3/4 bath (walk-in shower); foyer; and two-car garage. There is adequate parking for 4 mid-size vehicles on the property.

There is a wood burning fireplace in the family room and a grill in the backyard.

Tenants must sign an Emerald Bay tenant agreement prior to renting the home and pay the $500 non-refundable application fee, plus a $2,000 refundable deposit (this is in addition to rent, cleaning, and owner's damage deposit).

Vintage Beach House - Walk to Beach
Our family of four stayed over Memorial Day weekend and we loved it! The house is a charming original only steps from the very exclusive Emerald Bay Beach. We enjoyed the beach every day, as well as the pool, and easy trips into Laguna Beach for great dinners and to meet friends. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

The Location Simply Can't Be Beat
Yes, the house is a sweet, vintage beach house but in many ways it is refreshing to see an iconic home from the 50's still standing this close to such an amazing beach. If you go with expectations to enjoy the history and the beach beauty, you will not be disappointed. Three families shared this home with kids for Spring Break and we all had a great time. Great little yard for pets, too. The owners were excellent to work with. Very professional and got back to us immediately on any and all questions. In such an exclusive neighborhood, we wondered if renters might be treated 'differently' but everyone we encountered either at the beach, pool, gatehouse, etc. were super welcoming and friendly. If you have kids who get cramped in a hotel room, well behaved pets, love the beach- you can't go wrong with this sweet house.

Location, location, location!
We loved our stay! Its the perfect vintage beach house, sleeps lots of people, comfy beds, flat screen tv, all the amenities and steps from the beach! It's the best priced rental in emerald bay. I'd highly recomend it!

Best Beach in Cali
I grew up in Emerald Bay, and, for those who remember "E-Bay" before it was an online auction, you will agree that this is the best beach in the state. This house is just like the old days, before the sell out. We loved it and can't wait to come back!

-location wonderful BUT, the property is lousy
The house hasn't been maintained since the 1950's; it was abysmal and we were sorely disappointed. It was, quite frankly, hot and awful and many items in the home were in disrepair or tired/old. We couldn't sleep in any room but the back bedroom due to the heat and lack or cross ventilation, fans, A/C....anything to cool the place. The owner was prompt and courteous when working with us to secure the reservation. The location was an easy walk to the private beach. However, the house wasn't worth the money and I would not recommend it.
