The once luxury home built by Spartan Aviation in 1948 has been designed and remodeled into a SpaceAge themed, spacious tiny home, new kitchen, living room, modern bathroom w/ teak floors, and the bedroom has a Q size Purple mattress for extra nice comfort, wide screen TV, and views of the universe that are priceless.
Located in South Austin, close to shopping (Central Market, Whole Foods, Barton Creek Mall) parks (Zilker, Greenbelt, Garrison, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center) and a short commute to downtown Austin. Plus there's trails, Lady Bird Lake and Barton Springs nearby. Plenty of restaurants/food trucks and food delivery to choose.
Included is new Cold A/C or Heater with remote, ambient LED lights plus a Mr Coffee maker, electric kettle with complimentary coffee and tea, Weber Grill gas grill and a blue tooth speaker+books and board games.
The outside patio comes with shaded picnic table and an outdoor chiminea for the chilly evenings.

Overnight Stay

We only stayed the one night, and we enjoyed the trailer. the only downside was that the Wi-Fi was not working so we could not watch TV. We attempted to contact the host by telephone and text message, but we never received a response.

This is the cutest airstream - I loved all the fun touches!! The galaxy art in the skylights, the action figures in the plants outside, and the kind welcome message on the board inside! The whole place is adorable and super comfy. Would love to stay here again!

Great atmosphere created inside and out!!! Very comfortable and fun place to stay! I'm 6'4" and didn't feel at all cramped. Would 100% recommend this place for a fun getaway!!!!

So cute!!

Such a cute place. The outdoor area was nice and private- inside was super clean and we really enjoyed our stay. We didn’t follow the parking instructions and had message the host for help and got a response right away! Great communication- all around just a lovely experience .

Secret Flying Machine was wonderful

My wife and I stayed here for SXSW and her birthday celebration and we absolutely loved it! It’s located in a quiet neighborhood that still allows easy access to downtown and anything you’d want to do in Austin. The inside is more spacious than expected and very comfortable! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Secret Flying Machine to anyone wanting to experience Austin!

Cute & comfortable

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but close to downtown Austin, this cute earthbound space ship was exactly what we needed for our overnight trip. We enjoyed the layout of the Airstream and the privacy from neighbors. A really great experience!

Perfect little place!

My partner and I stayed one night and it was perfect! The property was very well kept and the space theme interior was so cool. Also the bed is incredibly comfortable! Slept like a baby.

Perfect Austin Couples Getaway!

Great experience! It's located in a quiet neighborhood and Rob provided helpful instructions to locate the private gate for the property. The trailer is clean with modern features and every detail is well-thought-out. There was cold water waiting for us in the surprisingly large mini fridge. Fresh ground coffee was provided for the mornings. There's a private patio with a grill and a picnic table. The A/C and heat are quiet and powerful. The design of the trailer is super cute; we loved the space age theme! Keep in mind that this is a super cute vintage trailer. There is a limited capacity to the hot water tank, so I'd recommend keeping showers under 10 minutes. Also, it still has the original vintage trailer door. I had a little trouble latching it; you just have to make sure the handle on the outside is all the way up and it will close on the inside just fine. I would recommend any couple looking for a cute getaway in Austin to book Rob's trailer; we will definitely book again if we are back in town. Thanks so much, Rob!

Towels, sheets need to be replace, Patio table needs to be replanted air condition needs to be replace. Great idea, but pictures do not reflect the current condition.

Wonderful stay with a cosmic flare!

Loved spending time at the secret flying machine! My partner and I loved the space age style throughout the place, and the shiny reflections with the accent lighting is really beautiful while lounging inside. A perfect night to escape and relax while enjoying time together. Rob was super helpful and even recommended some local spots to check out which was much appreciated. Quiet neighborhood, easy to find and a well kept space that has such a unique flare and fun energy. Definitely an experience that has been crafted beautifully!

Airstream Dream

We were 60-somethings in town for a concert at Paramount Theater in downtown Austin. It was an easy drive to S Congress and we loved the “keep Austin weird” vibe of this property. Photos are accurate and bed is very comfortable, water pressure is superb and bathroom layout makes the space very functional. We will definitely return!

It was nice to stay at someplace different than a hotel. It’s Texas so it can get a little hot, but keep that in mind and you’ll have a great time

Fun retro/future getaway!

Me and my partner loved staying here! It was ascetically pleasing while also having all the essentials that we needed. We enjoyed grilling right outside with a bench to eat at, that AstroTurf was a nice touch. AC unit kept it nice and cool during the hot summer. TV was nice a big so we could enjoy watching movies after eating. Overall a great experience will be returning again!
