Our family of five with three young adult children had a wonderful time. The house is great, really beautiful. We loved our time on the lake. Easily arranged for a couple of kayaks to be dropped off at the house. Yes, there are lots of stairs to the lake and would not be ideal for some but we enjoyed them. So lovely to be in the trees and on the water. The house was clean, the kitchen had the things we needed to cook and BBQ. We hope to come back.
Nice property but lots of steps to water and is a bit of a trek with luggage from cars to main house. Could use another full bathroom on 2nd floor of main house.
The house was very nice. We would definitely go back.
As in the other reviews, there are definitely a lot of stairs to get down from the house to the water but the house is perched on a cliff so it's the only way. The house was very clean when we arrived. Kitchen was great for cooking, well equipped, and spacious. The boat house and fite put made for good nights down by the water. Their are numerous canoes and rafts to use, all in great shape. The 2nd house at the top of the driveway was great to. Very open floor plan and more newly rennovated. We hope to go back.

Beautiful location
Very nice home with lots of room. Beautiful scenery, great dock and boathouse. Fun and "campy" with lots of charm
This is like living in the Adirondack Great Camps of old. A private Saraac lakeside complex -- main house, guesthouse, boathouse, fire pit, game room, porches overlooking the lake. Magnificent property with renovated well-stocked kitchen and house. New guest house with two bedrooms, one bath and kitchen plus sitting room. Furnished a cut above, lots of supplies for use, no stinting. You are living the private community Adirondack life. Caveats: Lots of steps between properties and to the beach. Master king bedroom has no bathroom, You either trek down to main floor or use the bathroom in the bedroom ext door, which is a little intimate. Queen on walk-out ground floor is nice, but the pump toilet on a septic tank is finicky and went down for a day and a half. Lots of fireplaces, decks and well-stocked kitchen. Locks were finicky and hopefully will be changed or fixed. We were locked out of guest cottage at one point. Adirondack Realty hosts were nice and responsive. Perfect place for muti-generational getaway, with ping pong and pool on rainy days. Easy access to town. Note: Those who don't deal well with steps, there are lots of them. It is a compound. I also would like to see more washcloths and better sheets.
Three generations of our family stayed on this beautiful property together. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed every meal on the porch or in the main home dining area, and also loved going off in small groups - or solo - to enjoy the myriad of indoor and outdoor spaces. Favorite moments: fishing and swimming off the docks, reading on the terraces, early canoe trips to fish, morning runs around Ampersand Bay, cooking/grilling and eating family-style in the main kitchen, snuggling up in cozy out-building, playing ping-pong in the boathouse, completing (almost!) a 1,000 piece puzzle in the kitchen banquette... the list goes on. We were also only about 30 minutes away from the ADK Loj/high peaks allowing two of our teens to finish their ADK 46ers on Mt. Marcy!! Six of us did the hike together and after an epic day of hiking, it was such a pleasure to return "home" to this cozy property (and have space to dry out our soaking-wet boots and gear on the amazing wrap-around porch)! The two girls have awesome memories of their final 46er hike and the family celebration on the porch at sunset that followed - awesome! It was hard to leave after an amazing week. Thank you!
Great property with lots of amenities. Close to downtown Saranac and short drive to Lake Placid and High Peaks hiking area. A true Adirondack experience.
The property and houses are beautiful! We didn’t realize that there was a labyrinth of stairs leading down to the water, which made it a bit difficult for some of our family members. But overall we really loved it.
We enjoyed staying here, especially the ability to take a canoe out on the lake directly from the boathouse. It was incredibly soothing and peaceful to listen to the water while we sat on the deck. We would happily stay here again.
We stayed with 3 young children and grandparents and had a wonderful time. This house is at a fantastic location on a tranquil, beautiful lake. It had everything we needed, including plenty of space indoors and out and all the features you would expect with a house.
The kids loved all the water equipment - canoes, paddleboards, tubes, swimming platform, etc. It was helpful to have the additional space in the guesthouse and the gameroom above the boathouse, plus lots of games in case of a rainy day. We also rented a boat and there was plenty of dock space.
The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of some minor housekeeping issues, and the house could use a little updating.
We really enjoyed our stay at the lake. The house(s) were great, the rec room above the boathouse was great for our rainy day too. Lisa was very helpful with our stay as well. Would definitely go back.
I have been going to lower Saranac Lake for vacation for 45yrs, this was one of the best weeks we ever had. My family loved the camp!

The true wonder of the Adirondacks and comfortable, almost 'Great Lodge 'accommodation. It was difficult to decide what activity to embark on first. The Loons swimming down to the boat dock meant another cup of coffee at breakfast. The beautiful home is situated close to many well known Adirondack activities. The interior is tastefully decorated with the Adirondack woodwork giving an added dimension to the architecture. The beds gave a great night of rest after a day of hiking and kayaking.
A truly ideal venue for family reunions. I look forward to my next visit.

Excellent accommodations and location!! With a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms and multiple rooms for gathering or sneaking away for a quiet place to read, this lodge has it all. With beautiful views through out the house , boat house and property, you feel the wonder of the Adirondacks no matter where you are. I hope to return in warmer weather to enjoy the swimming.

With perfect weather for kayaking and a perfect place to sleep, we enjoyed this wonderful place to have a great meal at the end of the day. The views from the decks are spectacular, we were lucky enough to see loons every day.

Fantastic Family Friendly Experience
We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake, the fall foliage, and even a lunar eclipse(!!) in a wonderfully comfortable and cozy environment. The amenities were plush, the kitchen was well appointed, and our every need was anticipated. Also the house is conveniently located to explore the nearby village of Saranac, or short drives to Lake Placid, the Wild Center at Tupper Lake, and Whiteface Mountain for a gondola ride to the peak. We plan to come back sometime in the summer season to really take advantage of the water sports and ice cream parlors! Thanks to the owners for making our stay so incredibly relaxing and enjoyable for the family.

Nothing Short of Perfect
It's rare to find a vacation home that exceeds expectations, but everything about this place is even more spectacular than the photos can capture. Pine air, the sound of the lake lapping below your windows, the soft wind in the trees. You will never want to leave. The house itself is the epitome of rustic charm, with log beams and exquisite wooden floors, but the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and elegant, and the water pressure in those showers will melt ever tired muscle in your body. A pathway leads you down to a fantastic fire pit, perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows (which we did), and the water in the lake in September still feels like bathwater. Private, quiet, serene, beyond beautiful in every way. Even the bed linens and pillows are top notch. I was there with a group of three, but it could easily accommodate families without ever feeling crowded. There's something for everyone inside and out -- swimming, boating, hiking, grilling, book-reading, TV watching, board-game playing. There's simply no better vacation spot on earth. We were thrilled and wanted to never leave. You will, too.

The Perfect Getaway!
This property was the perfect place to get away from it all in the woods by the water while still remaining conveniently close to amenities! Spent an extended weekend here with a few friends just looking to relax and enjoy some time at the lake. We loved that it was just a quick couple of minutes drive into town to pick up essentials (we grabbed groceries & cooked in a lot then opted for pizza one night from town) then back to the house to jump into the lake again. Canoeing was a great time. With evenings of grilling and campfires complete w/ roasted marshmallows... what more could we possibly have asked for?
The main house is inviting and comfy and we found everything we could have needed. Due to the placement and design of this property it really does offer a great deal of privacy and seclusion. The owners are wonderful, helpful and warm and provided plenty of information on anything from restaurants to outings. Absolutely a great experience that we would highly recommend!

Fabulous Lake House!
House was gorgeous! Lake was divine! Quiet and Tranquil! September is the perfect time... cool enough at night for camp fires and s'mores, and warm enough during the day for swimming and canoeing! Leaves were just starting to turn into incredible crimsons and golds. Owners were wonderful, replied quickly and answered every question we could think of. So much great information on the town and things to do provided in a resource in the house. And loved not having to bring my own linens and towels! We'll definitely be back!

Terrific Lakefront Hideaway
We had a large family summer get together and all enjoyed this property tremendously! It's a gorgeous, secluded spot with all of the amenities. The dock allowed for great swimming and tubing fun and the boat house is a nice comfortable place for games and relaxation. Both the main and guest houses are comfy and well-appointed with some truly outstanding views and nice decks. All in all, a marvelous place for a fun get-away!
