This house was designed by an artist to maximize the use of natural light with its large windows and high ceilings. The newly renovated two bedroom house is well equipped for your enjoyment. The beautiful views of the surrounding oak woodland and mountain ridges can be enjoyed from every room. Throughout the house you will find maple hardwood floors and updated appliances. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of the amenities of home and a granite bar that seats four. The living room has a modern chair that is great for reading and folds into a single bed if needed. The living room is equipped with a 50 inch high definition smart television that allows you to stream Netflix, listen to Pandora or watch one of the provided movies. There are also a number of board games for the family to play. The large deck has patio furniture and a gas grill. You may be able to observe deer, rabbits, and birds from the deck and if you are lucky you may hear coyotes in the evening. The house is eight miles south of the town of Mariposa off of Highway 49 and 35 miles from two year round entrances into Yosemite National Park (highway 140 and highway 41).

The house is lovely, clean and great location to travel back and forth to Yosemite for the day. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it for your stay in the area.
Perfect location away from crowds in Yosemite. Took an easy day trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Nice local grocery store as well. Would recommend staying here to other travelers.
This place is absolutely beautiful, super clean and even better than the photos!!! My friends and i were so happy. The owner had great communication!! Will absolutely book again

Beautiful
The House is wonderful and I would give it 5 stars but communication with the host was terrible. We didn't get our arrival instructions and code until the day before when she finally answered her phone. We had an incredible stay.
This house was adorable. It was fully stocked minus a washer/dryer. It sits nestled on several acres, has huge deck. The skies are dark and star gazing is amazing. The natural light is bright as there are tons of windows. We enjoyed our 2 day stay here.

Beautiful home
We enjoyed our stay in Mariposa! It is a gorgeous, cozy environment. My only complaint is that there were no blinds or curtains on any of the windows and it was a little creepy at night! We loved relaxing and watching Netflix in the evenings after a long day in Yosemite. Beautiful property in secluded location! An hour drive to Yosemite Valley.
Such a beautiful property. Located at the end of a short unpaved road up on a little hill. Very easy to find & so peaceful & private. My daughter & I were so happy here. We loved the wrap around deck with all the seating options to take in the views. The cabin itself is very cozy & comfortable. It was spotlessly clean, even the bbq grill. That was so much appreciated. We enjoyed the sounds of the coyotes at night. Very cool. We hope to come again next spring.
What an amazing property! Visiting yosemite for a few days and could not have stayed at a better location. Probably 50 minute drive to the park.
The home was even more lovely than the pictures online. I wish I could live in something like this! Super clean, loved the aesthetic. Got to enjoy the late evening sunset on the deck and jam out to the guitar tunes. Beds were so comfy as well!

Peaceful Mountain View
We loved this cabin. It was peaceful and serene. The perfect place to go "home" to after a long day of hiking at Yosemite. The beds were comfortable, we grilled out on the deck almost every night. Wildlife was everywhere. I believe the owners thought of almost everything. The only amenity that we missed having access to was a washer and dryer. Everything else was perfect!
We had a quick two-night stay at the property. We especially appreciated how clean and free of clutter the property was. It was well-stocked with essential kitchen supplies and tableware. We would've appreciated a fan to accompany the gas stove top. Also, the host lacked in responsiveness and required follow-ups at times. We would still recommend the property in spite of these things. The property is peaceful and serene and our toddler appreciated running around the wrap-around deck. It was a great homebase to visit Yosemite.

Great property, terrible communication.
The property was as listed and clean upon arrival. Unfortunately the access code wasn't sent to me prior to arrival which resulted in me waiting out front of the property with two young children and a car full of groceries in 105 degree heat trying for an hour to get a hold of Erica. Unfortunately because of the poor communication with the property owner I cannot give this property 5 stars.
Beautiful space both inside and out. Spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, plenty of linens in bath. Great supplies in the kitchen for cooking meals. You’ll love the nature and all the animals that come to visit. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. My only ‘dis’ about the place is the bathtub area seemed to be skipped over in the remodel. But all in all would definitely recommend this cabin for your stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Mariposa Mountain House. Lots of nice touches and conveniences. Beautiful property!! Communication was timely and perfect. Highly Recommend!!
The property was absolutely amazing! Nature in all four directions and the windows let in beautiful light throughout the day. We loved sitting on the porch in the morning for coffee and in the evening for drinks. Very clean and tastefully decorated. The location was awesome and we were able to easily get to Yosemite for day trips. We would definitely stay here again!
Heel mooi huis. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Toplocatie.

About the host
Hosted by Erica Helling
We met in Yosemite National Park eleven years ago. Erica came out to Yosemite from Kentucky to work for the National Park Service Bighorn Sheep program. Josh moved to the Yosemite area in 1991 to work as a rock climbing guide, ski instructor and photographer. We are raising our two children in the Merced River Canyon below Yosemite.
Why they chose this property
We love the rolling foothills of Mariposa and wanted to find a place to one day move our family to. We looked at many properties but this one spoke to us. From the moment we pulled up we felt a sense ease and look forward to one day living here. We also like that it is close to the amenities that the quaint town of Mariposa, and Oakhurst have to offer.
What makes this property unique
The sense of peace and calm that washes over you when you are at this location is what drew us to this property. We could picture retiring here just fine.
