Amazing home with plenty of room for our group of 6 and occasional guests. The house was very clean and the porch is a 10!! Such amazing views of the bay! We will definitely be returning for another stay!
What a beautiful home right on the bay in Jamestown. The home is so spacious and has everything you need. The porch was an amazing way to start and end the day. It is also within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. 10 out of 10!!
A lovely property with a great view . Outside space was well thought out and we were in walking distance of shops and restaurants. An easy trip over the bridge to Newport
Once again we had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Victorian house. The porch and view of Nararragansett Bay can't be beat. It's a five minute drive to Mackrel Cove Beach and Jamestown has so much to offer. Great for biking, walking, exploring. Bo (the owner) presents a clean and well supplied house and very responsive to any need. Highly recommend.
We had a group of eight women together, and this house was so perfect! Very clean, extremely well equipped, and what an awesome location. Jamestown is charming and it was such an easy drive into Newport to see the sights! Robert was a great host and responded promptly to any questions I had. I give this house and host an enthusiastic five star rating!!
This is a wonderful home, many bedrooms to choose from. There was everything you could possibly need. We loved to sit out on the back porch with a coffee or cocktail, over looking the bay and watching the sailboats cruise by. We very much enjoyed our stay.
I can't even begin to say how much we loved this house! The view and the location were amazing! It had everything you could possibly need. We were a group who graduated high school in 1970. The water taxi was so fun.
The host was the best! The house was clean, and gorgeous. By far the best house we have ever ever stayed in!!
We had a great week at Bob’s place. The house is in an amazing location, steps to the shops, farmer’s market, and restaurants. The view from the front porch is amazing; we ate all our meals out there. The single indoor shower was a bit of a bottleneck but after a day we learned to love the outdoor shower! And the air conditioners in every bedroom made sure that everyone slept super comfortably.
My family and I enjoyed a couple of wonderful weeks in this large, traditional home. Our hosts were lovely and very responsive. The house was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. We loved sitting on the big front porch (which has a spectacular view.) The kids loved the big grassy front yard and being close to a calm beach. All good!
Comfortable property for large group, fantastic views/porch
We had a group of 9 - 3 Moms and 6 college-aged kids for a mini-reunion long weekend. Everyone loved hanging out on the porch and enjoying the view as well as playing corn hole (we brought the game) in the front yard. Rooms/beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals and Newport was super convenient for our adventures. The only thing that was a little surprising is that the second "full" bathroom had only a small clawfoot tub, no shower. One shower for 9 people could be challenging to coordinate. There is an outdoor shower as well, but we visited pre-season so the temps were too cold for us to use that option. Nobody in our group spent a lot of time primping, so it ended up being fine for us.
This was the best choice for our wonderful family wedding weekend. The view alone was wonderful...could sit on the porch all day! But it was the charm of this old home that made it feel so special! So many of us came together and enjoyed this beautiful home. The owners were amazing and took care of our every need! Would come back in a heartbeat...but may have to wait until the next family get together!
One of the most relaxing locations i have visited. The view of the bay straight from the massive covered porch is like no other. Shopping, restaurants, and and the boat ferry are only 1-1/2 blocks away. Nice secluded beach only 1/2 block away. One bathroom is only a bathtub not a shower. There is an outdoor shower to wash away the sand from them beach days. There is a fan and window AC in EVERY room which is a huge plus for us, we all sleep with a fan on.
My family and I went to Jamestown to celebrate my father's 70th birthday and were very happy with the house. We could have stayed on the porch looking at the view for ages! The house had everything we needed for both the adults and my children. It is a short walk to the Jamestown/Newport ferry which was fun and close to the restaurants.
This house is amazing. The pictures are great but the reality is, it's better than they portray. We loved just sitting on the porch and watching all of the boat traffic in the harbor. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
Stayed at this beautiful Victorian home with family for a wedding at Dragonline Studios and could not have asked for a better home base. The owner was easy to communicate with throughout the booking process and the actual stay. Everything you need for a family vacation is at your fingertips. Hope to stay there again in the future.
My friends and I stayed at this property for a long weekend and couldn't be happier with the house and property. The views from the porch looking at the water and Newport were spectacular both during the day and at night. Jamestown is a great area to walk around and visit some of the shops and restaurants on main street. House was fully equipped with everything we needed and is a property we would definitely consider again if we were in the Newport area.
Shoreby Hill was exactly as represented online (even better). It's a beautiful historical house with lots of character. The house was well stocked with towels, sheets, cookware, glasses, etc. As most reviews said the view is fantastic and most time spent on the porch. Easy stroll into Jamestown center and access to beaches.
Came for the Fourth and even despite the bad weather, had a wonderful time! The covered porch was the best place to hang out and boat watch and the yard out front was the perfect setting for summer games and general hanging out. The bedrooms were incredibly cozy - perfect for retreating to in the evening or just during the day for some relaxation time. Thanks for the stay!
