The name says it all! This log cabin is truly the getaway you've been looking for! Not only does it offer satisfaction and contentment for you and everyone in your party, it is the gateway to all the many mountain attractions that WNC has to offer. Locally, take part in one of the many festivals held in downtown Maggie Valley, visit the antique stores and flea markets, or experience the Ghost Town chair lift or zip lines. Just 5 miles away, discover quaint historic Waynesville, NC, where you can spend the whole day exploring shops containing unique and beautiful local arts and crafts, try out the many and varied local restaurants, or take in a play or other cultural event. Famed Biltmore Estate constructed for the Vanderbilt Family in 1895 is in Asheville, NC, just a short 30 minute drive away. Enjoy all the sights and sounds that Asheville has to offer on your visit there. Just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Maggie Valley, you'll find Pigeon Forge, TN and Dollywood where you can enjoy the many attractions there. Plan on daily picnics by local mountain creeks, kayaking in Lake Junaluska, skiing the Cataloochee slope, fishing J Creek, or just watching the cows from the front porch of Contentment Place. Golf Tournament Trip
We play in a golf tournament every year in Maggie and normally stay at Maggie Valley golf resort. We decided to change it up and rented the cabin. We really enjoyed out stay and hope to book the same cabin again next year.

Contentment Place.
House was very well laid out, and cozy. We had great access to the Maggie Valley area and The Smoky Mountains. Host Jean was very accommodating. Brenda the cleaning lady did a great job at our halfway point of stay. There could perhaps be a little less dinnerware & pots and pans in cupboards. Which is why the cleanliness got an 4. And home decor was very very nice, but also a little much in some areas of home. I was concerned my 7 year old grandsons might damage something. It all worked out great though!

This cabin was large, very clean, fully functional, and welcoming. Plenty of space, plenty of supplies for 5 days, and a good central area to explore The Smokies. My only complaint is that I am no longer sitting on one of the massive porches sipping my coffee or wine.

Our family had a lovely time staying in this gorgeous modern cabin! Furniture was of highest quality and the grounds and garden were impeccable. Enjoyed the private outdoor covered areas for relaxing conversation. Convenient location to Maggie Valley amenities. We will certainly return!👍👍

Awesome Stay
The house was amazing as always. We really enjoy staying at Contentment Place.The host/ owner is great to work with.The beds are all comfortable and the back deck is the place to be outside. I would highly recommend this house.

Beautiful cabin
My favorite thing was probably the porches and watching smoke on the mountains. Jean was quick to respond to any message. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. Thanks again to Jean for letting us stay at her fantastic cabin.

The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. Spent a lot of time on the back deck and front porch. Enjoyed seeing the elk from the front porch. Beds were comfortable and the location was close enough to visit Waynesville and Cherokee. Enjoyed all the quaint shops in Maggie Valley.

Perfect Get Away
We have stayed in this cabin twice and hope to return often. It is very clean, comfortable, has everything you need, and in a really fun neighborhood. We love front porch coffee and morning walk around the neighborhood to get the day started. Maggie Valley is great base location for adventure. I am homesick for the place writing this review!!

We had such a wonderful experience at this cabin! The cabin was so wonderfully laid out, had very comfortable beds, was in a great location, and in an wonderful and safe neighborhood! Although we didn’t spend a lot of time in the cabin because we spent so much time enjoying what the area had to offer, when we were there, it was perfect! Try Hank you for a wonderful stay! Stayed here for a long weekend to ski. Cabin has easy access off main highway. Well equipped, as pictured in the photos. Great communication. We didn't need anything but if we had, there would be no trouble getting in touch with the owner/host. Place was very clean. Easy check in and out.

Love the neighborhood, love the home!
Home had everything we needed. 2 rooms on the main floor and a smaller room on the second level for the kids to sleep. Neighborhood is nice community that you can walk around and sometimes see Elk. Everything was very clean and beds were very comfortable.

Brought my parents up to see the Elk. They are in their mid 80’s and haven’t really traveled out since Covid started. Finally got them to go. We had a great time. The house was perfect for us four

The cabin exceeded our expectations and suited our needs perfectly! Myself, my husband and our two boys went to Maggie Valley bringing along my parents to enjoy fall leaves and maybe see some elk. We were not disappointed! The cabin was the cherry on top! There were elk in the pasture visible from the front porch of the cabin and the leaves changed during our stay making for a beautiful view from every angle of the cabin. It was the perfect location for us to stay! The beds were comfy, the cabin was cozy, decorated so nicely, and remarkably clean. The cabin is situated amongst other nice cabins all well maintained with manicured yards. The elk actually roamed between the cabins while we were there. It was a great vacation and I was so thankful I chose this cabin! It not only suited our needs perfectly but spoiled us as well!

Great New Cabin in the Heart of Maggie Valley
My husband and I moved around NC for two weeks in Oct. We wanted a location that was easy to drive to and had a great view of mountains. This home was perfect! Comfortable king size bed in master, well equipped kitchen, nice porches front and back. Plenty of room for a family with kids. The only thing missing is a reasonable tv selection, the channels were seriously lacking. We had u tube tv in another small mountain town and more major networks were available with sports etc

Contentment Place is our mountain getaway for refreshing ourselves in the mountain air when we need it. It's so wonderful, we find that we need it quite often!

Why they chose this property

My family travelled to this part of the NC mountains when I was a child. My father was the son of a saw filer who travelled from one logging camp to another. I remember my Dad pointing out to us all the places he had lived in and loved as a young boy growing up. When my husband and I had our son, we also introduced him to the mountains of NC - as well as the mountains in other states and other countries, but we love the convenience and beauty of the NC mountains! Whenever my son was ever asked his choice of exotic vacations, he'd usually say, 'Let's go to the mountains!' This log cabin in Maggie Valley seemed like the perfect place for us to make our home away from home!

What makes this property unique

This property speaks to us. It is comfortable and charming, yet convenient and close to everything! We have our peaceful mountain views from our front porch and the bold sounds and sights of rushing creeks nearby when that's what we crave. Nestled by the fire or out and about, our Contentment Place is truly that - contenting!
