About this property

Relax on the Bayou in our 'Little Cajun' Cabin

Beautiful custom-built Cajun Cabin, with a fully-equipped kitchen, living room and full bath. Cabin interior is rustic and is constructed of reclaimed virgin cypress and pine.

The cabin has a queen-size bed in the bedroom along with a sofa & love seat in the living room. The bathroom has a shower stall.

The cabin has a large TV in the living room and is equipped with WiFi and DirectTV.

The cabin is built on property right on Pierre Part Bay. There is a large covered dock where you can fish or tie up your boat. There is a boat ramp within walking distance where you can launch your boat to either fish or to just explore the beautiful waterways surrounding Pierre Part, including Lake Verret and Belle River.

If you're coming to fish, we have a nice, covered fish-cleaning area with a sink, cutting boards and containers for your use.

You may even catch a glimpse of the stars of Swamp People during your stay! Duffy's Gas Station, the home of Swamp People, is just a couple of miles south on Hwy. 70.

The cabin is about a one-hour drive from Louisiana's Capital City of Baton Rouge and about 1.5 hour drive to historic New Orleans. The Houmas House plantation home is 29 miles from the cabin, and Oak Alley plantation home is about 30 miles from the cabin.

Numerous opportunities for adventure may be available, depending on the season. These may include crawfishing, crabbing, frogging, fresh-water fishing, hoop net fishing and tours of the Atchafalaya Basin. Limited alligator hunts may be available during alligator season at an additional expense. Experience a true Cajun lifestyle.

Great place to stay

We could not have asked for better accommodations….. Cabin was extremely comfortable and clean and had plenty room for boat and trailer. Owners made sure all was good and very easy to communicate with!! Plus there is great place to clean your catch. Dock on the water was super convenient with a boat launch within walking distance. Of course Lake Verret showed off big time yesterday (5/4/2024) with all the gators, bald eagles and other birds and wildlife. Definitely a place to stay at again!!

Great hosts

Had a great stay perfect size cabin for a couple. Hosts gave great advice about food and sites. Eddie took us on a 4 hour boat tour of the Atchafalya basin. Saw large gators bald eagles cotton mouth moccasin all types of water fowl and met some folks running crawfish nets. Great trip thanks.

This is one of the nicest VRBO's I've stayed in. Cozy, spotless and quiet. The owners are super friendly and they don't have a huge list of check out chores. Will def stay again.

Perfect homey cabin

Beautiful cabin built of reclaimed wood. Feels like home. Everything you need is in the cupboards. Devore is lovely and extremely tasteful. Comfortable bed in a beautiful frame with real quilts. Stayed 4 nights. Hated to leave!

Tournament stay

This is a great little cabin in a great location. Close proximity to boat launch with a great little tackle shop, boat dock to tie off on and a fishing pier on Pierre part Bay. Plenty of parking for vehicles with boat and trailer on the property. Could not have asked for anything more. The owners were readily available to answer any questions even while on vacation themselves. I will definitely recommend these cabins to friends and family. Thank you Eddie and Marilyn for a wonderful stay!

Clean, Modern tech with rustic feel inside

Cabin is perfect for a get away. Super clean , lots of room to park a boat. Walking distance to the boat ramp. Covered pier on water with a swing to relax. Owners are great to deal with and very caring. Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation.

Awesome people, awesome place

We wanted a quick, last minute get away to south Louisiana & this cabin and the owners did not disappoint. We wanted to get out on the water to see the wildlife without taking a boat ride with a bunch of strangers or "city folk." Eddie took us out to catch some frogs and see the swamps. It was beautiful and worth every penny we spent. There's a place called Pierre Part store not very far from the cabin that is a true gem. You can find anything you forgot or need while staying at the cabin. I would recommend staying at this cabin, spending time with Eddie and visiting the Pierre Part store 10 out of 10!!

We had an amazing stay! The neighborhood is very peaceful. We were able to go on a swamp tour with Eddie while we were there. Marilyn recommended great places to eat and visit. We can’t wait to go back and take our kids.

Louisiana hospitality at it’s best!

The cabin was very clean, lovely and quaint. Highly recommend booking a personal swamp tour with Mr. Eddie, the owner. It was very educational and got to see parts of the swamp that you wouldn’t normally see on a commercial swamp tour. Genuine Louisiana hospitality! We would book this property again.

Excellent Accommodations

The cabin was very easy to find and parking in back was convenient. Cabin was located very near Troy Landry's Seafood Restaurant and Duffy's Shell Station. Ms. Lambert was very helpful and cheerfully answered all my questions. I highly recommend this cabin, there is also a two bedroom cabin right beside the one I rented, it was nice and well kept also.

Awesome little Cabin

Our cabin was very clean, comfortable, and well supplied. It is very tastefully decorated and all beds and furnishings were in good condition. The location is perfect for foshing, touring the bayou, and touring all Louisiana has to offer. The host are very nice people and go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

Fun on the Bayou

We had a great time on the Bayou! Mr. Eddie took us on a swamp/crawfish tour. We got to catch crawfish and keep some to boil! We had a great time fishing on the dock at the cabin! We enjoyed the nice little beach at the Land’s End Park!

OMG.....Heaven

I'm born and raised in Louisiana. I moved to Tennessee 4 years ago. My family lives very near. So this visit we decided to do some fishing...this place is perfect. We were able to leave the boat in the water the entire time. I was able to visit family and still not be in their way. Cabin was excellent. Very very clean. We will be back next year when my granddaughter graduates...this time for a whole week. . The Lamberts are awesome owners😊

WONDERFUL!

Eddie and Marilyn are the most WONDERFUL people we have ever met! We came down just a few days after hurricane Ida planning on staying at a hotel in Gonzales the night before our stay at the little Cajun Cabin. When we arrived at the hotel, they had no electricity in the entire area so we were facing sleeping in a hot car all night. My husband called Eddie to see if they knew of a place we could stay, and Marilyn and him offered for us to stay on their houseboat. So VERY NICE of them to go out of their way for us! The Little Cajun Cabin is so very homey and comfortable, and way nicer than we ever expected! Everything was just PERFECT with the cabin……Immaculate, great bed,nice walk in shower, A.C.worked super great, and very well stocked! Even though there had been a major hurricane in the area, spotty cell phone service, no WiFi, and very LONG lines at the gas stations……we still had a WONDERFUL time enjoying the cabin, the porch, the deck with the swing down by the water, and meeting and talking with a lot of the local people! Eddie’s swamp tour is AWESOME! We saw egrets, blue herons, and my favorite, roseate spoonbills along with a whole lot of BEAUTIFUL scenery. We got to see a few alligators and even got stuck in the lily pads, but Eddie managed to get us out! Cannot Thank you two enough for going totally out of your way to help us out in our time of desperation! We both LOVED and ENJOYED the Little Cajun Cabin and hopefully we can return SOON and go frogging with Eddie!

Immaculate for any occasion!

We rented so my hubby could enjoy fishing his favorite lake while sleeping in a little. It's an hour an a half from our home! It was perfect in every way! The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and have a wealth of knowledge of the area. From the complimentary soap/shampoo, to the fully stocked kitchen, comfy bed and rockers on the porch The Little Cajun Retreat doesn't disappoint! Their dock is great for enjoying nature and the property is just steps away from the boat launch! There is plenty of room to park your boat at their dock or on the property itself.
