Very nice place to stay

My family (including 2 kids, ages 5 and 10) very much enjoyed staying here. For the kids, they liked being able to "explore" the property and watch the cows. For my wife and I, the property was beautiful and conveniently located to Luray attractions and restaurants.

GREAT!

We spent there 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. Our city boy son really enjoyed the nature and was very excited to see cows just across the back yard. It was way more than we expected in terms of the layout- lots of room and well organized. The place was very clean and had all cleaning supplies. The owner was very welcoming and it was nice knowing she lives nearby. We would defiantly recommend the property for our friends and family.Thank you Vanessa!

Great place to getaway with kids!

We wanted to have a short, family getaway close to Luray Caverns. This was perfect! Our 4 year old girls had their own room, space to run around outside and the cows to keep them entertained! We had a full kitchen so we could save money by eating at the apartment- or not expose the public to cranky kids. It was very close to the caverns, which allowed us to visit the caverns one day and the museums the next. We also found a great playground in Luray, thanks to the guest book! It was spotless, the owners left a gift of pastries and were easy and helpful to work with (only by email, we didn't see them during our stay) and the views were spectacular. The only real downside was the double bed in the adult room, but that's just us. Great value and lovely location!

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay at the loft! The views were incredible and the whole place was so peaceful! Vanessa was very hospitable and helpful and allowed us to add an extra night on our stay and allowed us to arrive very late so we could start our trip early the next day. The loft has everything we needed for the weekend and was a very charming place to stay.We took advantage of the chiminea one night to make a fire and relax outside. Recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful place to get away. There were only two of us but it would also be great for a small family. We were mostly out during the day hiking/kayaking, etc. so the loft was perfect to come back and relax on the deck and look at the stars and provided beautiful views in the morning. It was close to all of the places we wanted to go, within half an hour from the river outfitters and canopy tours. We would definitely come back on our next stay here. Thank you so much Vanessa for all of your help and for providing such a great place to stay.

Perfect lodging in Luray

We were beyond thrilled with this charming apartment in Luray, which was less than 10 minutes from downtown Luray shops and restaurants (we liked Artisans, Uncle Buck's, and Gathering Grounds), the caverns, and a wedding we attended at gorgeous Khimaira Farm. It was much larger than the photos suggest. I'd guess it's somewhere between 700-800 sq ft. We had plenty of room to spread out with our toddler and pre-schooler. Everything was tidy, extremely clean, and well-kept. The owner has quite a flair for decorating. I spent at least an hour admiring each of the many interesting prints, photos, embroideries, etc. The apartment is tastefully furnished with an assortment of new and well-taken care of vintage and antique pieces. She's even outfitted the light fixtures with Edison bulbs. It truly looked like a Country Living magazine home. The kitchen was well-equipped, with quality, functioning appliances to include a glass-top range, microwave, mixer, large fridge/freezer with ice maker, washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, dishes, pans, colander, and flatware. The property itself is breathtaking. The views from all the windows are amazing. You can watch the sun rise over the ridge from the comfortable, clean chairs on the deck, or watch the sun set over the surrounding picturesque farms from the living room windows. My son enjoyed watching hay making from his bedroom window, visiting Country the horse, petting Oliver the dog, visiting the pond, and waving to the cattle in the creek each time we left the farm. The owner has also planted flowers quite a few flowers and mulched around the apartment. Our host Vanessa was quite friendly and truly goes out of her way to make guests feel welcome; providing lovely Yardley soap, gourmet muffins and cookies, an engaging local newspaper, and even helping us lug all our heavy suitcases up to the loft. Two things to be aware of-if you need entertainment for the evenings, bring books, games, or DVDs, as there are limited television channels. We were very glad to have brought a small stash for the children. Also, our cell reception was spotty in Luray (normal for rural and mountainous areas), so have a contingency communication plan. These two items in no way detracted from our stay; just be aware and prepare. I truly can't rave enough about this wonderful property!

Beautiful Secluded Getaway in the Heart of the Shenandoah Valley

If you are looking for a unique country experience, this is a great place to stay! The house sits off the road about a half mile down a farm gravel road complete with friendly cows. The views from this location are beautiful with plenty of space to wander. The accommodations were very clean and well furnished and decorated. It was very inviting! The owner was very hospitable and provided us with everything we needed; even towels and dishes for our pets and pastries for us upon our arrival. This was a very special place and we will definitely stay there again when we are in the area. Thank you so much for everything!

Beautiful property

The loft was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was dog friendly, which is a must for me. They even provided a small bag of dog treats and some towels and bedding for the dog. The property is gorgeous. Rolling hills, which were the cow pastures, with the mountains in the background. It's was nice to be able to walk the property with my dog and take in the scenery. Only about 20 minute drive to Shenandoah national park, which is great for taking long hikes in the mountains.

Peaceful getaway, dog friendly

We were just looking for a place to getaway from the city for a long weekend. This place was it. Quiet, beautiful countryside, and close to Luray and plenty of stuff to do. This has a great little porch for sitting and drinking coffee in the morning. We brought our dogs and they enjoyed it as much as we did. There is plenty of space for them to run around as long as they were supervised. The cows visited us one morning, it was great.

Charming Country Cottage

Charming cottage in the country, just minutes from Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. You will wake up to stunning views of the mountains when you open your eyes! Kids enjoyed running out each morning to see where the cows were - and specifically how close they were - and see if they could find "their" cow. Peaceful and quiet. We brought charcoal and cooked on the grill, made s'mores, and enjoyed the cool mountain evenings and mornings on the porch. There was plenty of hot water, a large fridge, a large indoor table plus the table on the deck. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware for our short stay. Beds were comfortable. We were just a few minutes to a Walmart and Food Lion to stock the kitchen and a few minutes to the Luray Caverns. SNP is nearby and we made daily trips there for hiking. Owner was very easy to work with during the reservation process. There appears to be an adjacent cottage/rental but it was vacant during our stay so it was just so quiet and relaxing for our family. Would be a great rental for a family or extended family or friends traveling together if you could rent both units.

Spring Cliff Vacation Lofts

Spring Cliff Lofts are a very well kept secret. Beautifully decorated and very convenient to the Town of Luray. We visited the caverns and the museums and spent the day antiquing. The view from the loft is breathtaking. Fabulous sunsets and sunrises. We were originally supposed to stay in April but a snow storm delayed our trip. Vanessa was very accommodating. We were finally able to come in May and it was worth the wait spring blooms were in full force. The farm is so beautiful. My husband and I always take our two pups with us and they had a blast looking out of the window and watching the cows. Debbie was so friendly and gave us directions to different areas on the property. We enjoyed walking and exploring the property and admiring the beauty of nature. We had the best time and can't wait to go back.

Kid Approved!

From my 10 year old son: We LOVED it here! It was awesome. You have a lovely home Vanessa! We enjoyed the cows and horses. Next year I want to come here again! P.S. The only thing that stinks is the cow pies. From my 12 year old daughter: The view is spectacular! It was so cool being able to be really close to the cows and taking pictures with them! At night, when it was pitch black, we went outside and heard the cows mooing. It was a great way to end the day! I would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone. It is also very convenient that the caverns are so close! That was a GREAT experience! Thank you very much Vanessa! We enjoyed every minute of this trip. From me: This really was a fantastic find, and so much better than staying in a hotel. We were able to cook our own meals, experience different and beautiful scenery, conveniently visit the caverns, relax while watching a movie in the evening, and sleep extremely well. It suited our needs perfectly. Vanessa was wonderfully helpful in reserving the loft, and the muffins she left to welcome us were delicious and much appreciated!

Luray VA

This was a great location for watching the sunrise and sunset over the mountains. As slack packers (day hikers), the loft had everything that we needed following a long day hike. The loft was very clean, had hot showers, a full kitchen with utensils and even an outside fireplace.

Great Host

The things I liked about the place is the remoteness, views and the location being very close to Luray, VA. The host very graciously allowed us a very late checkout on Sunday so I could keep my dog there while we did the river trip as Saturday's weather was not good. Thanks Vanessa!

Perfect Getaway- Amazing view

This loft is charming, comfortable, and perfect for a getaway for a couples or families. I stayed with my 2 boys and loved it. The beds are very comfortable with down comforters. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one by far has the most equipped kitchen you could ask for. Great for trying to save a little money or have a romantic dinner in. The location is minutes to the local attractions like Luray Caverns and the beautiful greenway, but you can also enjoy a beautiful hike in the woods right on the property and sit back and enjoy some of the most beautiful sunsets from the deck. We will definitely be back for another stay in the fall to enjoy the foliage!

In 1908, Spring Cliff Farm was given as a wedding gift to Bessie Jane and Arthur W. Long. The bride named her new home after the beautiful stone cliffs and natural springs on the property.

Today the 200 acre farm is enjoyed and cared for by third, fourth and fifth generation descendents.
