Great VRBO for kids!
This home was ideal for our family getaway of 6 adults and 3 small children. It was very clean, with enough space that we could be together and have family time, but also have some separation. The sun room was a wonderful place for our small grandchildren to play and the little swing set outside was an added bonus. The property is directly adjacent to the forest, where the Arizona Trail can be picked up after a short walk into the woods. We were definitely out in the woods but the stores we needed were still convenient for picking up groceries. We loved eating out on the deck in the evenings. The property owner was very responsive to my questions. If you bring small children (crawlers and toddlers) you may want to pack a portable baby gate, as the stairs were an added attraction to our 2 and 1 year old grandchildren! We would definitely rent this house again if given the need and opportunity!

Wonderful family getaway in the woods!
The house was perfect for our family of 5, and our favorite spaces to hang out were the fabulous kitchen and 4 season porch in back. We enjoyed hiking on the trails right outside the front door, and looking at the stars from the hot tub at night. Would highly recommend!

great time on our family vacation
Our adult sibling vacation was a great success. We went to many scenic spots and were thrilled with the area. This house was perfect for us because there were enough rooms for us all. We spent most of our time, when in the house, around the large dining table, either eating or playing cards. The family wants to do the same vacation again next year.

Quiet & Convenient.
A group of us spent the weekend in Flagstaff and this home was perfect. We loved the hot tub in the cold weather nights! The kitchen was completely stocked up with all the gear you would need to make a great dinner! The bedroom set up was great! The only thing that would have been helpful to know was that one of the upstairs bedrooms required a walk through the office area where the single bed is to get in and out. It completely worked out for us we just rearranged the sleeping arrangements for a couple people that were uncomfortable with that. The beds were comfortable. The neighbors were friendly. We had to reach out to the owner twice with some basic clarification and he responded within mins. We would love to rent this place again!

Family friendly house, large with lots of bedrooms
The owner was very user friendly, great location not too far from Flagstaff but clearly out in the woods. House was great with lots of bed rooms for larger family gathering. We enjoyed Thanksgiving with our adult children. Hot tub was very nice to sit in and look up at stars at night.

Great house in the woods at foot of the mountains!
The beds were comfy and lots of room for our family. WiFi gave us warning it was over limit when we arrived but it just gets throttled. As long as you just surf net or check news/facebook the internet is fine even throttled. Really beautiful area and close to a lot of things. We went to Walnut Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, Grand Canyon, and Sedona and recommend them all. Sedona you want to take trip down the highway and not interstate to see the canyons. They are doing work on roads right now but once you get past that it's really pretty. House was well kept and has great kitchen with a ton of cooking gear.

Plenty of room
The place has plenty of room and outdoor amenities. The only thing I would recommend is new furniture. The matresses and couches/chairs are not comfortable....but we spent most of our time outdoors.

Fun times!
This was our 2nd stay at this property and we all had a great time. Kids loved the hot tub and basketball. Location is perfect! House is large enough for our party of 8 to enjoy our own and group spaces. This Valley family thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the front porch to watch the afternoon thunderstorms. Highly recommended.

Great Place to Stay
This house was roomy and had plenty of privacy. It's snuggled up in the hills and great hiking right off the property. Spa was a bit small but everything else was great.

Fantastic Location
We really enjoyed our stay. Very close to the city amenities, but you get the "in the forest" feel. Tons of hiking and biking trails right outside the door. Will definitely try to stay here again on our next visit.

Lovely location
We stayed over the 4th of July and enjoyed the home and location. Could walk out the front door and start your hike or bike ride. Home was comfortable and we used the large porch outside often. Kitchen was well equipped. The master bedroom has 2 large skylights that greet you every morning. The upstairs bedrooms were nice and comfortable.

We had a great stay!
We rented this house with another family for a weekend of snow play and skiing. Great house. Very spacious and clean. Great location to Snow Bowl and Sledding hills. The property is on a quiet, somewhat secluded street and it has a huge yard so the kids had a great time playing in the snow. The house was well equipped with towels and kitchen basics. I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We really only experienced 2 cons: cell phone service was limited at times -- not sure why. Sometimes it was perfect and then other times none existent. Internet access was also limited so we did not allow the kids to use it. This was a definite con for them, but I loved seeing them play outside vs. on their tablets!

Amazing views, convenient stay!
My family rented this property for my husband's birthday. It was also my daughter's first time seeing snow! The property was pleasingly spacious. Out side there was a play area and a beautiful deck. The only con was the hot tub was located in such a way where you had to walk around the outside through the snow to get to it LOL. Overall, it was warm, close to town, and a very nice home ♡

Great location, not the most comfortable beds
My family enjoyed our week long stay in Flagstaff. The house was large enough to fit us all comfortably. On a nice amount of land so it was quiet but also close to town. Also the fire places provided a nice cozy environment st night. We all felt the house could've been cleaner, we cleaned several cobwebs off the ceilings and walls. Also the beds were very uncomfortable. Some were so loud when you moved around at night that it was difficult to get rest. One queen size bed was made with full sized sheets, fortunetly we were able to find some proper sheets. The sheets on the king bed slipped off every night while we slept, it was quite annoying. We just felt for the money we spent that we would at least have comfortable beds with decent bedding and a clean home.

Absolutely perfect!
This cabin was perfect. The layout was very convenient for our large group and we were amazed at how well stocked the house was with everything. There were plenty of towels, pots and pans, dishware as well as hair dryers and other such things. The kids in our group loved to play on the swing set out side and the spacious backyard. The fooseball and ping pong table in the garage was a wonderful added bonus. The owner was fantastic and easy to work with. We absolutely loved it.

great for extended family gathering
The listing does not do justice to this home. It exceeded our expectations. We are a 3 generation family of 5 adults & 5 kids. There were actually enough beds for 11. The rooms were more spacious than the pictures lead you to believe. The sun room was great for hanging out, and windows brought in a lovely cross breeze. We ate most meals on the deck, but there was also a dining room table, as well as a breakfast nook and counter seating in the kitchen. The 7 year old girls were especially thrilled with the bedroom that they had picked ahead of time that in addition to the gable they had seen on the picture had a small chandelier and a secret loft in the closet. Great for their fantasy life! My older niece and I had expected to share a room, but were delighted to find a single bed in a semi-private area upstairs that we called her "studio" and she set up the desk with her art supplies. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, and the pantry had some odds and ends from previous users. This is nice because it saved us from having to buy some of the minor staples like salt & pepper that we would only need a small amount. Basha's grocery store about 4 miles away. We ate or packed all of our meals from the kitchen, but there are so many good restaurants in downtown Flagstaff that would have been tasty as well. There are lots of trails for walking/hiking/biking nearby. The kids also enjoyed the swings outside, and fooseball and ping-pong tables in the garage. We spent a portion of each day visiting sites like the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, Riordan house, hiking and wandering downtown Flagstaff; and the rest of the day hanging out at the house. The owners have a good-sized collection of DVDs for children & adults available and we used some of them a few of the evenings. The owner was very responsive to questions via email. Our only frustration was that due to location the internet access was slow; but we chided ourselves that we were on vacation after all and shouldn't be spending so much time on our devices.

Excellent home for family to meet and relax together in a comfortable, yet rural setting
We rented the home for our son's graduation weekend at NAU. The home was perfect for his graduation party and a following BBQ with friends and family the next day. Plenty of room to spread out. A variety of sitting areas, large kitchen and patio area for entertaining. The home had everything in good working order, including the outdoor spa and gas barbeque. The home is situated amongst the pine trees, so a lot of privacy from surrounding neighbors. Overall, a great experience for our entire family.

Excellent getaway
We were a bunch of old-friends meeting after 10 years, and this was the perfect location for the reunion. Right from game room to hot tub, comfortable beds, fireplace, barbecue and the picturesque settings, everything was in place. I would surely recommend this location for parties of 8-10 people wanting to getaway for some time and enjoy the wilderness and tranquility this property has to offer

Owner is a biology professor at NAU. We are on an extended sabbatical and have decided to rent out the home while we are traveling.

Why they chose this property

The location is very special. Close to town - suburban houses are a mile away - but property borders the National Forest in an area of estate sized homes on 2 to 5 acre lots. House has been completely remodeled, wood floors, granite counters, hot tub etc.
