Relaxing Weekend-Stunning Views

We had a wonderful visit to Lake City. The house has tons of character and charm. We loved the screened porch for morning and afternoon lounging. Great location on the water, and great access to enjoy walking paths near the water and marina. The views are incredible!

Best Spot on river

I have stayed here many times and every visit I am enchanted all over again! This quaint, adorable house has all the modern comforts - love the whirlpool and the free standing tub up in the aerie! The direct river views are magical, and sitting in the swing on 1 of 3 porches is so fun! The largest porch is screened (thank you!) and it and the top one give drop-dead views of Lake Pepin and upriver past Maiden Rock. I would love to be here all the time! 💖

Great place!

I liked the style of the house, it was comfortable with great views of lake. I was able to bike, walk, and because I was envious of people fishing, I booked a guide and caught lots of fish. Great restaurants and shops nearby. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Wonderful location

Overall this was a wonderful location and comfortable stay. The home does need some maintenance, however this did not distract much from the stay. It comfortably sleeps 4, however one person can stay on the fold-down couch.

Relaxing stay at the lake

This house is so cute with plenty of room for a family of four. It is close to Red Wing & Wabasha making it an easy drive to see the sights. The house was very clean with all you need to make a lunch or supper. I highly recommend it & will be back soon.

Perfect Weekend

This perfect “Diamond in the rough” house, was the perfect place to stay with a small group. Beautiful lake views, and within walking distance to everything. The decor, and atmosphere in the house was shabby chic meets modern. Absolutely gorgeous! I’ll chalk this up as one of my favorite getaways!

Location is the star of this property

Unfortunately some things really need attention. There were pieces of shingle all over the deck, you lookup and the roof looks like shredded cheese. Fortunately it didn't rain this weekend. Also, when we tried to fill the whirlpool tub with hot water the hot water ran out and it was tepid by the time it got to a good level so no nice soak. Above the shower is very water damaged. We recommend rip out drywall and put new tile in its place to prevent further damage. We took pictures if you need to see what we have mentioned. The view, though, is the draw. The house is stocked with linens and was quiet. We wish the outside trash and recycling had been emptied. It was very full. Also, the TV/cable was sketchy. It would play sometimes but most times it just spun a circle. We did contact the owner but she couldn't help because she was out of country. So in all it was a disappointment after the money you spend. Sorry to be negative but after a wonderful experience with vacasa and VRBO this was a let down.

Lovely long views!

This home may just have the best views of Lake Pepin in Lake City. Holly's updates have add additional "cozy" and character to this older home. And her dinner recommendations allowed us to enjoy local restaurants in the comfort of her kitchen with a 5 star view. There is a very generous supply of beautiful linens for guests to use in both bed and bathrooms. Note that if you plan to prepare meals during your stay, be sure to bring all ingredients and spices as well as Keurig coffee cups for the coffee maker. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Peaceful stay on Lake Pepin

The house was very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the views of the lake from the house as well as along the walking path. The house is conveniently located just a few blocks from the main street with easy access to local restuarants and shopping. We also took advantage of the beautifyl weather to explore other small towns along both sides of the river. I had just a couple of questions for the host when moved in. These were answered promptly. Check in and check out were easy. We will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Exceeded Expectations

This was the first time I've used Vrbo or rented a house for a vacation. The whole process was surprisingly easy! The house was perfect and even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. The location couldn't have been more perfect! Right across the street from Lake Pepin. My siblings and I had a wonderful time and would love to stay again!!

Girl's Weekend

We had a great stay in this cute house! Such a cute beachy nautical theme! We had a girls weekend and it was great to stay super close to the water. Only major downfall was the plague of the mayflies. It was super gross and prevented us from having a fire. Not the persons fault by any means as you cant help mother nature at her best! It was pretty clean but the cob webs need to be gone. Other than that we had a great time in such a cute place!

It’s all about the location!

Very cute property! Loved the porch swing facing the lake and the kitchen window bench seat. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were nice. Kitchen was well equipped with what we needed. To note one improvement .... the cleaners could keep the front porch, screen porch and upper level deck swept better & free of cobwebs.....then the property would be short of perfect!

Holly was an accommodating and responsive host. Great location with easy walking access to everything, and lake front. Off the main road and pet friendly which was important to us. A few suggestions: a gas bbq ( the one that’s there is not in working condition, and a briquette bbq is too slow), the front driveway entrance / sidewalk is significantly heaved, not clear if this is a city or property owner responsibility; makes entrance and exit to the driveway a challenge.

Relaxing and Restful

We enjoyed the ghosts running up and down the stairs! We had a delightful stay. Had pedicures at Diva Nails and on our way for breakfast at Chickadees. The water was a little cold. Not the lake. Hot water heater turned down low?

My husband and I are residents of Rochester, MN so we have been fortunate enough to enjoy weekends on the water in Lake City for years. It is a short 40 minute drive to all the beauty and energy the river has to offer! My husband is an architect and I am a real estate broker with a degree in interior design. We have been involved in the renovation of real estate for years.

We have loved spending weekends with our family and friends in Lake City for years and fell in love with this property and it's fabulous location! After beginning renovation to the home in January, we are finally ready to share it with guests. It is our hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
