This is a lovely large house in a beautiful area with swimming and hiking trails. The property has beautiful outdoor spaces with fire pit and hot tub. Indoors, the big kitchen and dining areas made it a great place for spending time with friends and family.
This is a great property! You just get this relaxed feeling wash over you from the design of this building being so well integrated into the surrounding woodlands. No matter where you are in the house you feel connected to the outdoors - Peaceful, quiet & calming. What a wonderful place to stay while we celebrated our son's wedding. Plus the kitchen / LR level bedroom, bath & entranceway was perfect for our elderly mother.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house has plenty of room and sleeping capacity for a big family. The outdoors spaces are great as well. Lots to do and plenty of spots to relax.
Our 2nd time staying and even though the weather did not cooperate, we had a great time. 18 adults and 5 littles staying in both houses - very comfortable.
We had a great stay. The house was beautiful and cozy at the same time. Our 4-year-old had a blast playing chess with the jumbo chess board. Check in was easy and Michele was super responsive. Thanks for a great time for our family!
The Tahoe was the perfect place for our 4th of July family and friends gathering. Its great room was the best spot to watch the storms roll in, the sunrise and sunset and just the trees and birds in general.
This is a really great house that can host friends in many areas. It was nice the kids could play and parents could enjoy time in the living. Having a fire outback was enjoyable in a chilly night.
We have stayed before and will stay again.
The Tahoe is everything we could have wanted for a weekend getaway with friends. Large, clean and comfortable, it has plenty of space to relax both inside and out. Michelle is super friendly and courteous, and even supplied us with extra firewood. Will definitely be looking up this listing next time I plan to be in the area.
We had a lovely stay at this home and the sister property with plenty of space for everyone. The home was beautifully built and very clean. Check in and check out we’re very easy, communication with the host was very quick and easy. We ended up adding an additional night at the beginning of our stay without any issue. Nice outdoor space for entertaining. Would love to stay here again!

Great House - Fantastic Week
My family, along with 2 other families, spent about a week at this great house. We had 13 people in total and there was MORE THAN enough room for all of us. Three bathrooms are very handy and were extremely helpful with getting everyone ready for the lake or dinner. It was great having a full kitchen and grill - we ate in all but one night. Very short ride to Newbury Harbor and the mountain, and Sunapee Harbor isn't far. The house has everything you need: full kitchen (very well stocked), plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of living space, very nice wrap-around deck, two outdoor fireplaces, laundry, and great owners. Michele made the whole process effortless and I would book with her again! The pictures don't really do this house justice, it is truly a beautiful (and large!) home!!!!
We were here for our son's wedding. The bride, groom, both sets of parents and various siblings stayed on different nights (so many different sleeping arrangements available!). We ALL wished we had more time to enjoy everything this home has to offer. We didn't even notice the amazing knee-high outdoor chess set between the two houses until we were packing up to leave. Lots of great books on the shelves. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The hot tub (which we tried and failed to make time for).
Our biggest problem was locating the driveway. Passed it multiple times until we finally noticed the orange cones. It was probably in the check-in instructions, and we missed it? Don't care. LOVE this place.
How wonderful things were... once we were inside..... But on a dark NH evening when the one number we have is not working (owner overseas, but could have been dead in a ditch as far as we knew) such that we did not get in until after 11pm after traveling all day from Florida, it was a frustrating start to the weekend. …Only 45 minutes on the phone waiting for VRBO customer service to cough up a property manager number which should have been provided from the start… and no real apology from the owner (small compensation would have been nice but not necessary), I can’t in good judgement give this more than 3 stars. In the future, we will ask owners to provide backup numbers.
We spent our Thanksgiving weekend at this beautiful house. The layout is great, with bedrooms and bathrooms on every floor. The fireplace is very large and clean. The kitchen is equipped with most of the basics one needs.
My sister’s wedding party spent the weekend at this house and then hosted the wedding in the backyard. My family also rented the house next door from the same owner. The house was perfect- it has a rustic, upscale cabin vibe. The whole property is beautiful. There was lots of space for everyone to sleep and many places to gather inside and outside. A 20x20 tent fit nicely in the yard and there was plenty of parking. The owner was wonderful and flexible- she let us visit the property ahead of time and check in early so we could receive the tent delivery. She was also very responsive to messages. Google maps directed us a little bit too far down the road so I would rely on the owner’s directions and look at the house numbers once you’re on 103a. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return!
We rented both of Michelle‘s houses for our annual family get together. It’s a group of 17 ages 81 to 2 years old. The houses were both beautiful well stocked clean and spacious. Everyone had a room to themselves and the outside area was wonderful. Both houses have unique outside fire pits and the hot tub was the bonus. We will definitely return.
This property was perfect while visiting our son at Colby. Close enough, but very private in the woods. Plenty of space for us to spread out, and the owners are super easy to work with, and very kind. We had a great time! Highly recommend.
Enjoyed our time at the Tahoe house. Lake Sunapee state park was very close and easy to get to. The pictures need to be updated, though, on the VRBO site. There is no longer a day bed on the 3rd floor. There were little bugs in the bathroom, but I think it was humid when we got there, which attracted them. Hot Tub is a plus. Overall great stay.
Calling this experience magnificent is an understatement. The property is vast and provides a very calming atmosphere. The interior is impressive at every level and the house is stocked with everything you need (spices, extra batteries, even a crock pot). The property owners were always friendly, helpful, and extremely responsive.
Great Space in the wood on the SE corner of Sunapee. Easy to the mountain.

About the host
Hosted by Michele Lucey
We have lived in Newbury for over 20 years and built this property as a family affair with our extended family in Southern New Hampshire and Connecticut. We have raised our family here and it has become a favorite vacation destination for our friends and family. We are local and manage the property ourselves.
Why they chose this property
This property offers a prime location for access to all that the Sunapee area has to offer. The house is in a quiet secluded wooded area yet minutes from Sunapee State Park, Colby Sawyer College, area restaurants, and other local attractions. The house offers three levels of open space to accommodate your party and has bedrooms and bathrooms on each level.
What makes this property unique
Privacy with great outdoor space to enjoy summer evenings by the field stone fireplace or fire pit. The house has a large story fieldstone fireplace and huge windows to bring the outdoors in. Guests have held small weddings and wedding events at the house, opting to use it as a venue once they have seen it. The area is hugely popular for hiking, mountain biking, as well as road biking. The house has no direct access to Lake Sunapee but there are local beaches within just a few minutes to swim or launch a kayak. There is also terrific fishing at Otter Pond, Warner River, and Sugar River, all nearby. Hiking up Mount Sunapee to Lake Solitude is a moderately challenging hike and with beautiful views of Lake Sunapee and beyond well worth the trip.
