Barbara and Chris could NOT have been more hospitable! They told us great places to visit and restaurants to check out. We toured their farm and got to feed and pet the horses, plus the Russian geese she had were beautiful. I would DEFINITELY stay here again, in fact, we are planning a trip back here in the fall!
This was an amazing getaway. Barbara and Chirs are great hosts. The cabin and setting are absolutely perfect. I look forward to coming back to this property. I highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.
Barbara is an excellent host! She is so authentic in her desire to make your stay at this beautiful place special! Right in the middle of wine country, this cozy cabin is the perfect escape. Make sure to ask her to meet the sweet animals and for restaurant recommendations!
We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was so cute, cozy, and clean. The grounds were pretty. It was really relaxing sitting on the porch watching the wildlife and petting the kitty. It was close to several wineries and downtown Elkin. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. We can’t wait to stay there again!
Absolutely amazing place to stay !!
Very secluded and cozy cabin on acreage.
For my family the best part was getting to meet the owners of the property and there livestock.
I would definitely recommend if you want A cozy cabin experience.
We will be back to visit in the future 100 %
Barbara and Chris are the consummate hosts. From check in to check out, going out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to returning.
Great cozy cabin that offered the relaxation we wanted and needed!! Barbara was beyond kind in including my girl who wanted to see and help with all things farm animals!! Cabin had all the things we needed to enjoy our week. We all slept like babies in the comfy beds!! We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway!!
Homeowners were very welcoming! Fresh eggs, canned jam and sooo much wildlife! Wish we could have stayed on the property more. Perfect for families that want the "farm" experience with a variety of animals with which to interact. Can't wait to bring my grandkids back soon.
This farm is perfect for couples and/or families. It’s our favorite place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We’ve been coming here for years and never get tired of it.
If was a perfect location for a family wedding at the winery. We appreciated the fresh eggs and jam!

The cabin was perfect. Beautiful yard and pins, ducks greeted us daily. We loved sitting on the porch rocking chairs. I only wish I had more time to spend there.
This was a wonderful location for a quick getaway with the family. The house was cozy and our 4 year old loved seeing/feeding all the animals! We will be returning again in the future!
We only spent two nights, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was charming and comfortable and the location overlooking a pond surrounded by nature made for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The hosts were wonderful and everyone enjoyed stopping and saying hi to the goats, pony, donkey and horses every time we came and went. We also really enjoyed exploring the Elkin area. Thanks for everything!

The cabin is amazing. The modern updates make it better without taking away from the experience. My daughters absolutely loved everything from the cabin to the animals. Barbara and Chris were great hosts. Really made it feel like visiting family. Will definitely have to make our way back in the future.
I can only say that this authentic retreat was shared with all of my best friends and family. The owners of this cabin live nearby and welcomed us into their world. What a blessing. We will return.
This cabin was wonderful. It was just like the photos and so many simple details. It had everything to cook with, a boat for use on the pond and so much space to explore. The hospitality of the hosts were top notch and the fresh eggs and jam were soo appreciated and sweet. We will definitely be back. This is for sure our new home away from home to rewind and connect with the outdoors. The simple memories we made for Father’s Day are ones that will be cherished!
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin so much. It was at the end of a winding road tucked away in the woods surrounded with such a serene environment. It was so peaceful and quiet. The porch of the cabin faced a gorgeous pond facing east. The ducks came to visit each morning. Being a farm girl myself, it was nice to be awakened by the rooster in the chicken coop across the pond crowning. My husband and I loved this respite away from Wi-Fi and the hustle bustle of busy workdays. The host was so friendly and accommodating and easy to reach if needed. We recommend for anyone who wants a perfect spot hidden away for a few quiet, peaceful days.
No need to look further - this will always be our ‘home away from home’ when our son and his family come to visit. It took us back in time with the sturdiness of hewn logs, handmade decor, and breathtaking surroundings. The pond and pastures with resident ducks, ponies, goats were pleasant to observe. We also enjoyed a nice fire thanks to wood provided by our host as well as fresh eggs and homemade wild blackberry jam. Who would ever want to leave a place like this?!

Will come stay again sooon!
Before I even get to the cabin rental let me say Barbara is awesome. What a terrific host! Now for the cabin - we all loved it and kids are ready to return and want to bring their friends. We did not bring swim suits so we missed the opportunity to do the zip line, but we did get to fish. Caught bass and crappie. The cabin was simply awesome- no WiFi but as my 6 yr old said - this place is fun even without YouTube. What a great weekend. We will be back if Barbara will have us, this time for a tour of the wineries.
The house is back off the road and behind the main residence. Hosts are extremely nice and accommodating, for whatever that may mean for you. Our kids (10,6,4) fed animals and collected eggs when possible with the hosts, and were treated as family. Hiking nearby, vineyards nearby, or just relax under the large tree at the waters edge. Kids caught some fish during our stay and loved it. No wifi, and extended cell service (verizon). Enough to take a call, but if you are trying to get away.....why?
Cottage is updated and basic, and is as described. A good mix of a cabin and a house, not rustic but not modern. Everything you need and quite if you want it to be.
Great stay, and the epitome of southern hospitality. Would absolutely go again, put the phones on the counter, and sit by the pond under the tree sipping a beer watching the kids play.
This farm speaks for itself. It has it all; green pastures, rolling hills, surrounded by woods, creeks and fulled stocked pond. Located conveniently in the Yadkin Valley wine region, Big Elkin Creek Farm's awe inspiring beauty will leave you breathless.
