About this property

Beautiful Lodge In Bass Lake with boat slip, near Yosemite

Welcome to Yosemite's Beautiful Bass Lake. Our 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths home is well appointed and a comfortable 2500 sq ft. It is nestled in the Marina (deep end of the lake) where you can take the short walk or quick drive to our private marina. At the gated marina, we have a private dock and the complex has beach access. You can launch your boat or watercraft right from marina at no cost. There is great fishing in the lake (guided or non), hiking the Ansel Adams wilderness, Mountain biking the famous 007 trails, or enjoying a day in the sun swimming or every water sport you can imagine. At the end of a cul-de-sac and backing up to a national forest, there is plenty of outdoor activities for the family.

Inside our home, enjoy fast wifi (100mg down) for movies, games, streaming or work. We have a full size kitchen with 12 person table. Our BBQ is a PitBoss Smoker just outside your kitchen window on the back deck. Our front deck is a sun soaking 800sqft with Teak Lounge chairs for the family to enjoy. We have board games, pin ball machine, card table, ping pong table and tons of other misc things to do.

For your sleeping arrangements, the primary suite has a King Bed, two recliners, and large on suite bathroom. In the birds nest (highest floor), there are two rooms both with Queen sized beds. Our fourth room would be the bunk room down below the main living space with its own deck, queen, full and twin sized beds and a card table. This room is also attached to our movie room and has its own full bathroom.

The drive from Bass Lake to Yosemite National Park is 20 miles to the gate and the giant mariposa groves. Once in the park, you can decide to hike there or head to the valley.

Because we are on a mountain, yes, we do have stairs and the driveway is steep. Most people are fine, but the driveway can intimidate. At the top of the drive, there are 23 stairs to front door to be exact. But once inside, you'll never want to leave.

Amenities include: fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans and dishes, coffee pot, Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher, washer/ dryer, fridge, walk in pantry, two decks with gorgeous mountain views, fireplace, brand new AC/heater, two TVs, free wifi, walk or drive to water.

Great Property

It was a very spacious house and was able to accommodate my family well. I did not like the stove because it took so long to heat everything up but that wasn’t really a deal breaker and there were too many cobwebs around the house. There also wasnt enough trash bags or toilet paper available for the number of people and the length of stay. The movie theater was a big plus. The property location was great because we were able to visit Yosemite. Overall though I would recommend this place. It was a quiet and clean neighborhood and we all enjoyed our stay.

We Love Bass Lake!!!

We really enjoyed our time up in Bass Lake. It is hard to not have fun. The house we rented was a bit of a challenge with the stairs and layout, but overall it was good. Thank you.

Large, clean house with private boat slip

This was our second time staying at this property. The house is large and fairly well-equipped to easily accommodate our large group. There definitely are quite a lot of stairs throughout the house, but it doesn't bother me. The recently renovated decks are very nice with nice patio furniture and a new smoker grill. The boat slip at the private marina is convenient and a short walk away. Our family had a great time!

Great House!

The house was perfect for our family vacation. There were 10 of us yet there was plenty of space for everyone. The driveway was not as steep as some say and if you enter the house through the garage there are less stairs to climb. The house was clean and well stocked. Having a slip for our boat was a big plus! Brian was very responsive and quickly answered our questions. We will definitely rent this house again.

A lot of stairs and very steep driveway.

Nice location, just very challenging to walk up steep driveway and a lot of stairs. Rooms were good and host always answered any questions we had. I was worried about bbq seeing how it is not a closed cover bbq. Dried vegetation behind it on a hill for fire risk. Would recommend a high wall behind it. Liked the movie room and a nice multi-level deck. Had a great stay otherwise for the price and location. Recommend 4WD to drive up the driveway.

Our Second Stay

Another great stay! Like last year, we traveled with another family (a total of 4 adults and 5 young kids) and this cabin is the perfect size for us. It’s clean and has enough room for everyone to have their own space and privacy, the kids especially love the theater room downstairs. Love the tree house feel among the pines and the quiet location at the end of a cul de sac with the forest at the rear. This year we saw many wild turkeys wounding around the property which was very cool! We love the location and easy access to the lake as well as Yosemite. Also love the new rear deck where the grill is now located, great addition! Another note, the stairs aren’t bad so don’t be thrown off by the photos. When you park next to and enter through the garage, there is essentially only one stairwell that leads up to the main living area.

The house needs more dinnerware. To have only 6 dinner plates and 2 salad plates is ridiculous!

We had to wash dishes by hand after each meal in order to have clean dishes for the next meal. The instructions for the internet were not correct and there were contradictions in the house information.

As advertized, easy to find, large enough to accommodate my large family!

The cabin was just about as we expected, which is great. A few warnings, however, just so you don't have some of the hiccups we had: The driveway is steep and narrow. Do not attempt to drive up it in cold or wet weather unless you have a 4 wheel drive. My dad's car was the only one able to make it up, the other three cars were confined to the street. This, combined with the many steps to the front door, made loading and unloading our stuff difficult. The thermostat is brand new and confusing. We ended up being cold most of the night on the upper floor. Bring extra blankets, especially if you like to stay extra warm, because the cabin only had one extra blanket. The flooring in the front hallway and foyer was exceptionally slippery. We had more than one Wipeout while wearing socks or slippers. Otherwise, it met all our needs. Those are not complaints so much as particularités that you might want to know before booking/arrival. If it weren't for the driveway and stairs , we would definitly book this place again!

Would NOT recommend!

This was THE WORST rental experience we have EVER had. As mentioned in the description, there are a ton of stairs, so we were prepared for that, HOWEVER, we were not prepared for a driveway that was so steep none of our three cars could make it up. It was so steep, that you have to walk on tiptoes (my friend had to change out of her flip flops to make it up!) We get into the house, and it was clean enough, but did not come with necessities such as toilet paper or propane. When we went to BBQ, the tank was empty, so we took it down to the lake and swapped it out. THE OWNER REFUSES TO PAY ME BACK FOR THE PROPANE. It was in good faith that I incorrectly assumed that I'd get reimbursed. There is a room/office that is attached, but has a separate entrance. It's awkward because it doesn't have it's own bathroom, so anyone who is staying there has to walk up to the main house to go to the restroom. My older sons were in that room and GOT LOCKED IN! The screen wouldn't open after several tries. Finally they were able to get out, but then couldn't get back in and all of their stuff was already in the room! The owner did apologize, but was aware it was sticking. We ended up having to cut the screen to open the door! The kitchen had a HORRIBLE ant problem. It was very frustrating because they were on the counter and even in the dishwasher! When I contacted the owner about where to throw the garbage, I was told that because of the animals in the area, the garbage cans aren't left outside. Totally understandable as I've dealt with this before with rentals. I've had to leave garbage in the garage, in a bear-proof locker and have even hauled it out to the street. When I asked her where to put the garbage she said that I needed to TAKE THE GARBAGE WITH ME! She suggested that I throw the garbage in a bin at a store in town. THIS IS ILLEGAL. There are cameras posted at such facilities to prevent just this from happening. I'm not sure how the water is a 10 min walk because the only way we could make it a 10 min walk was by cutting through between houses and properties (which we did by mistake). Maybe this is OK, but we felt as if we were going on private property to do this and opted not to go this way again. I have never had an experience like this. I'm not sure if the owner is new to renting out homes, but this is not a place I would ever return to or recommend.

Excellent home for Bass Lake fun

Property was well equipped. Be sure that all your quest have good knees as the stairs are a challenge. Lots of stair climbing to get to the main floor, which posted a bit of a challenge for my husband who has bad knees. The trash removal is a bit of a challenge as you have to take it to a dump site and when we got there it was closed so we had to take it home! When one of the bags broke, it caused a big mess in my truck. There was some confusion on my part of where to park the trailer, but it was solved by Brian. All in all, had a great first trip to Bass Lake for my birthday!

We love this lake and this is a great house!

Very big and comfortable house. We visited with my family and another family with children. The house was very comfortable and big enough so kid noise didn’t affect everyone. I did have a run it with the neighbor down the street because I parked my trailer, on a public road, in front of his house. I guess everything can’t be perfect.

Great Getaway

This property has a great location. Just a short walk to the lake. The beds were comfortable and the a/c kept the house cool. The kitchen had everything we needed... plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, but it would be nice to have more flatware. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your VRBO. We had a great time during our stay at Bass Lake.

Beautiful Bass Lake Cabin in the Trees

We’ve started making Bass Lake and annual trip and this was by far one of our favorite cabins we’ve stayed at. The location is great, it’s located at the end of a cul-de-sac and backs to the forest. In the pictures the front stairs seem a bit daunting but parking is very easy and is located next to the garage. There’s one stairwell from the garage that leads up to the main house so there aren’t as many stairs as it seems. Other than some cobwebs, a couple spiders, and a friendly lizard, the home was very clean, spacious, and had super comfortable beds. Sitting out on the deck makes you feel like you’re living in a treehouse and you get some peekaboo views of the lake and sunsets. We traveled with another family that also has small children and this cabin is great for all ages. Our kids especially love the game and theater rooms. Easy access to the lake and a very quiet location. We’ll definitely be looking forward to staying here again next summer!

Interesting Stay

These are my negative critiques: **Shortage of silverware, forks in particular **Games are all missing pieces--throw them away as it was disappointing to the children. **Let guests know if something isn't working before they check in. **Too many stairs--our fault for not realizing 3 flights of stairs. **Let guests know that property has a problem with rodents in the pantry. Positive critiques: **Very clean and spacious. Comfortable living room furniture. **Lots of dishes and cooking utensils **TV with cable **Mattresses are comfortable. **Washing machine and dryer access **Boat slip access **Two refrigerators Management communication was adequate and they satisfactorily resolved the issues with our stay. I would recommend this property.

Family New Year's gathering

We stayed in the home with our son and daughter and some other family members. We found the property to be "as advertised" in every way. The upside is location and spaciousness of the property. We always try to stay in this area of Bass Lake for the lake access but relative quiet. The downside was the lack of clean linens on the beds. The home was supplied with extra linens, so we were able to fix it, but it was a disappointment, nonetheless. The owner was easy to reach and very apologetic about the situation. Overall, our stay was great and we had a super New Year's family gathering. We would stay here again.

Expensive Inconvenient house to rent

We stayed at this house in July. The house was clean, the location was not convenient for us due to all the steps that we had to go through to make it to the main house. We had a very hard time driving up the hill and hauling coolers and luggage up the hill and up the steps was very difficult. The bedroom in the lower plant of the house, should not be called a bedroom. It is more of a playroom. It has no bathroom. Going out of the room and up the steps to go to the main house to use the bathroom made it extremely inconvenient. This house is not recommended for older people. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. The only one that is in decent conditions is the one in the master bedroom. My family choose to sleep on an inflatable and not on the beds due to the condition of the mattress. There is not BBQ grill, and no patio furniture. There were 4 plastic chairs on the main deck, that was it. nothing on the second deck. What a disappointment. To top it off we found mice in the master bathroom. I do not recommend this house, and I would not stay here again. IT is a very expensive house for what we got.

Great place to stay

Great place to stay to make amazing memories on the lake with family and friends. Location was great and it was a plus to have access to a private dock. Only thing we would recommend is have more diningware (serving bowl, bigger pots, etc.). Would definitely recommend this cabin if staying in Bass Lake.

Memorial Day Stay

We had 3 families vacation together. The house suited us well. With small children, the separate bedroom was not utilized, but there was still sufficient space to accommodate the group. The house was close enough to travel into Yosemite Valley for day trips. Would highly recommend!

About the host

Host profile image
We are a family of five who live in Southern California. We purchased this home as a get- away from our busy schedules and for our children to grow up playing on the Lake and exploring the mountains. We fell in love with Bass Lake, the warm water to swim in, the town, the mountain air.
We enjoy renting our place when we are not using it, so others can fall in love with Bass lake as we did, and enjoy the comfort of our home.

Why they chose this property

We are located in a private marina association, which is located four miles from downtown Bass Lake and The Pines Resort. The exclusive area offers privacy, quiet from the crowded areas of the Lake, but plenty to do. This property offers room for our extended family to all stay together and fit comfortably.
The town of North Fork is four miles away with grocery store and gas station. Oakhurst is 25 minute drive with movie theater, dining, and shopping.

What makes this property unique

We have a county owned land next to our house, with added privacy and more land to explore. We are at the end of a cul de sac with a unique situation for plenty of parking. There are walking and hiking paths in abundance, and a world famous mountain biking path .5 miles away.
Our house is 2300 square feet, room for 12 comfortably. Huge kitchen, large family and dining areas. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. We have made sure the beds have comfortable mattresses and linens.
The large porches have a beauty all their own, with mountain view, fresh air, and lounge chairs. The living room boasts of floor to ceiling windows so every time you walk into the room, it is breath taking. The private marina, huge windows and spacious decks are the main reasons we bought this particular home.
