Large, clean house with private boat slip
This was our second time staying at this property. The house is large and fairly well-equipped to easily accommodate our large group. There definitely are quite a lot of stairs throughout the house, but it doesn't bother me. The recently renovated decks are very nice with nice patio furniture and a new smoker grill. The boat slip at the private marina is convenient and a short walk away. Our family had a great time!

Great House!
The house was perfect for our family vacation. There were 10 of us yet there was plenty of space for everyone. The driveway was not as steep as some say and if you enter the house through the garage there are less stairs to climb. The house was clean and well stocked. Having a slip for our boat was a big plus! Brian was very responsive and quickly answered our questions. We will definitely rent this house again.

Our Second Stay
Another great stay! Like last year, we traveled with another family (a total of 4 adults and 5 young kids) and this cabin is the perfect size for us. It’s clean and has enough room for everyone to have their own space and privacy, the kids especially love the theater room downstairs. Love the tree house feel among the pines and the quiet location at the end of a cul de sac with the forest at the rear. This year we saw many wild turkeys wounding around the property which was very cool! We love the location and easy access to the lake as well as Yosemite. Also love the new rear deck where the grill is now located, great addition! Another note, the stairs aren’t bad so don’t be thrown off by the photos. When you park next to and enter through the garage, there is essentially only one stairwell that leads up to the main living area.

Excellent home for Bass Lake fun
Property was well equipped. Be sure that all your quest have good knees as the stairs are a challenge. Lots of stair climbing to get to the main floor, which posted a bit of a challenge for my husband who has bad knees. The trash removal is a bit of a challenge as you have to take it to a dump site and when we got there it was closed so we had to take it home! When one of the bags broke, it caused a big mess in my truck. There was some confusion on my part of where to park the trailer, but it was solved by Brian. All in all, had a great first trip to Bass Lake for my birthday!

We love this lake and this is a great house!
Very big and comfortable house. We visited with my family and another family with children. The house was very comfortable and big enough so kid noise didn’t affect everyone. I did have a run it with the neighbor down the street because I parked my trailer, on a public road, in front of his house. I guess everything can’t be perfect.

Great Getaway
This property has a great location. Just a short walk to the lake. The beds were comfortable and the a/c kept the house cool. The kitchen had everything we needed... plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, but it would be nice to have more flatware. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your VRBO. We had a great time during our stay at Bass Lake.

Beautiful Bass Lake Cabin in the Trees
We’ve started making Bass Lake and annual trip and this was by far one of our favorite cabins we’ve stayed at. The location is great, it’s located at the end of a cul-de-sac and backs to the forest. In the pictures the front stairs seem a bit daunting but parking is very easy and is located next to the garage. There’s one stairwell from the garage that leads up to the main house so there aren’t as many stairs as it seems. Other than some cobwebs, a couple spiders, and a friendly lizard, the home was very clean, spacious, and had super comfortable beds. Sitting out on the deck makes you feel like you’re living in a treehouse and you get some peekaboo views of the lake and sunsets. We traveled with another family that also has small children and this cabin is great for all ages. Our kids especially love the game and theater rooms. Easy access to the lake and a very quiet location. We’ll definitely be looking forward to staying here again next summer!

A lot of stairs and very steep driveway.
Nice location, just very challenging to walk up steep driveway and a lot of stairs. Rooms were good and host always answered any questions we had. I was worried about bbq seeing how it is not a closed cover bbq. Dried vegetation behind it on a hill for fire risk. Would recommend a high wall behind it. Liked the movie room and a nice multi-level deck. Had a great stay otherwise for the price and location. Recommend 4WD to drive up the driveway.

Interesting Stay
These are my negative critiques: **Shortage of silverware, forks in particular **Games are all missing pieces--throw them away as it was disappointing to the children. **Let guests know if something isn't working before they check in. **Too many stairs--our fault for not realizing 3 flights of stairs. **Let guests know that property has a problem with rodents in the pantry. Positive critiques: **Very clean and spacious. Comfortable living room furniture. **Lots of dishes and cooking utensils **TV with cable **Mattresses are comfortable. **Washing machine and dryer access **Boat slip access **Two refrigerators Management communication was adequate and they satisfactorily resolved the issues with our stay. I would recommend this property.

Family New Year's gathering
We stayed in the home with our son and daughter and some other family members. We found the property to be "as advertised" in every way. The upside is location and spaciousness of the property. We always try to stay in this area of Bass Lake for the lake access but relative quiet. The downside was the lack of clean linens on the beds. The home was supplied with extra linens, so we were able to fix it, but it was a disappointment, nonetheless. The owner was easy to reach and very apologetic about the situation. Overall, our stay was great and we had a super New Year's family gathering. We would stay here again.

Expensive Inconvenient house to rent
We stayed at this house in July. The house was clean, the location was not convenient for us due to all the steps that we had to go through to make it to the main house. We had a very hard time driving up the hill and hauling coolers and luggage up the hill and up the steps was very difficult. The bedroom in the lower plant of the house, should not be called a bedroom. It is more of a playroom. It has no bathroom. Going out of the room and up the steps to go to the main house to use the bathroom made it extremely inconvenient. This house is not recommended for older people. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. The only one that is in decent conditions is the one in the master bedroom. My family choose to sleep on an inflatable and not on the beds due to the condition of the mattress. There is not BBQ grill, and no patio furniture. There were 4 plastic chairs on the main deck, that was it. nothing on the second deck. What a disappointment. To top it off we found mice in the master bathroom. I do not recommend this house, and I would not stay here again. IT is a very expensive house for what we got.

Great place to stay
Great place to stay to make amazing memories on the lake with family and friends. Location was great and it was a plus to have access to a private dock. Only thing we would recommend is have more diningware (serving bowl, bigger pots, etc.). Would definitely recommend this cabin if staying in Bass Lake.

The house needs more dinnerware. To have only 6 dinner plates and 2 salad plates is ridiculous!
We had to wash dishes by hand after each meal in order to have clean dishes for the next meal. The instructions for the internet were not correct and there were contradictions in the house information.

Memorial Day Stay
We had 3 families vacation together. The house suited us well. With small children, the separate bedroom was not utilized, but there was still sufficient space to accommodate the group. The house was close enough to travel into Yosemite Valley for day trips. Would highly recommend!

It was clean, comfortable, spacious and suited our needs!
The cabin is nice, clean, spacious and suited all of our needs. The cabin had plenty of linens, towels and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the gadgets you would need for cooking. The bedrooms were great! The kids loved having their bedroom/Rec room separate. There is no entrance to that space from inside the house but the kids enjoyed it! The living room was very comfortable with nice big leather chairs and a lot of sitting chairs to watch tv or visit. The heating system, wifi and modem worked well. Especially since it was stormy outside. I also appreciated the astro turf on the outside stairs. It was raining pretty hard when we arrived and that was a great safety feature to have on the stairs. The driveway is a little tricky in the rain. It is a little steep but if you have 4-wheel or all wheel drive vehicle it's not a problem. Our family parked in the driveway while we parked in the cudesac which was fine. The transaction of renting the cabin was seamless and I always knew what to expect. I got the lock box code the day before departure and I always got updates prior to that for various things that had to do with our cabin rental. The owner was very courteous and always answered our questions promptly (like within a couple of minutes). I'm a text/ email kind of person so that's how I communicated but had access to call as well. It was such a great experience for our family! We can't wait to do it again! If you're accommodating a large group, this cabin works out well!

Great home at Bass Lake!
What a great place to stay at Bass Lake! We found the home spacious, clean and well maintained for our stay which included a short trip to Yosemite Valley. The house had all the amenities, a large kitchen dining area, plenty of room and things to do for the kids with ample sleeping accommodations. The home sits on a secluded cul-de-sac and although the driveway up the hill to the house is a bit challenging there was a great view of the forest and distant view of the lake. The new A/C unit easily heated up the house in a manner of a few minutes and kept the house comfortable with minimum running time. The downstairs playroom and sleeping accommodations was great for the kids (ages 4-8) to have room to play with their toys and watch DVD's on the TV/DVR in the room. The home does not have cable or dish services and the large screen TV in the living room will operate with Apple TV if the Wi-Fi is working. The removal of trash is a bit tricky in that you have to bag up all the trash and leave it in the laundry room and pay a $25 fee or remove all the trash and take it with you which provides a bit of a challenge. All in all it is a great place to stay with a lot of room and ideal for groups of 10-12 individuals.

Beautiful Lodge in Bass lake w/ Boat slip
The cabin was clean and accommodated our party of 11. It was in a great location. We had a stellar weekend climbing at Shuteye Ridge. A few things we noticed : 1. mattress on one of the bedrooms on the second floor was very soft that the couple had to sleep on opposite ends to get some firmness. 2. rail on the bunkbed is loose and came off. could potentially be a hazard 3. bath soap bars in the bathrooms would be a nice addition 4. more full size plates are needed. not enough for a party of 10. 5. upgrade kitchen utensils and add more pans. i.e.Teflon pans are old and have lost the teflon material on them

Beautiful House, very roomy and overall great stay
The house was very nicely furnished and fully equipped. Very spacious and accommodated us well. Although it was very difficult to load and unload due to the many stairs and uneasy driveway we still managed. The parking situation was something to fix due to the fact that we couldn't get our car up the steep drive way and were limited to parking in the street quite a distance from the house. We also dealt with complaining neighbors, which was a bummer when your trying to enjoy a vacation. But overall we loved it and we plan to rent again next year.

About the host

Host profile image
We are a family of five who live in Southern California. We purchased this home as a get- away from our busy schedules and for our children to grow up playing on the Lake and exploring the mountains. We fell in love with Bass Lake, the warm water to swim in, the town, the mountain air.
We enjoy renting our place when we are not using it, so others can fall in love with Bass lake as we did, and enjoy the comfort of our home.

Why they chose this property

We are located in a private marina association, which is located four miles from downtown Bass Lake and The Pines Resort. The exclusive area offers privacy, quiet from the crowded areas of the Lake, but plenty to do. This property offers room for our extended family to all stay together and fit comfortably.
The town of North Fork is four miles away with grocery store and gas station. Oakhurst is 25 minute drive with movie theater, dining, and shopping.

What makes this property unique

We have a county owned land next to our house, with added privacy and more land to explore. We are at the end of a cul de sac with a unique situation for plenty of parking. There are walking and hiking paths in abundance, and a world famous mountain biking path .5 miles away.
Our house is 2300 square feet, room for 12 comfortably. Huge kitchen, large family and dining areas. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. We have made sure the beds have comfortable mattresses and linens.
The large porches have a beauty all their own, with mountain view, fresh air, and lounge chairs. The living room boasts of floor to ceiling windows so every time you walk into the room, it is breath taking. The private marina, huge windows and spacious decks are the main reasons we bought this particular home.
