A glorious, picturesque mini estate with fishing and boating pond, redwood grove, orchard, and hiking trails, all set in a private sunny meadow. As featured in Sunset magazine, a gourmet, oversized country kitchen, antique mantle on wood burning fireplace and Parisian antiques complete the feeling of elegance and serenity. Step outside to a cozy covered porch with upholstered wicker furniture and large entertaining deck with hot tub and a view that takes your breath away. The house is adjacent to a 80 acre vineyard and features surround sound throughout the house with a high end Denon stereo system for auxiliary input devices.

In counterpoint and worthy of Architectural Digest is the new modern master bedroom with Italian metal windows in wonderful contrast to the first growth redwood floors salvaged from a local Sonoma County Barn. Oversized beams that support the suspended ceiling and asymmetrical skylight creates the feeling that you are sleeping in a Redwood Grove in a W hotel setting. All this faces onto the pond, enormous redwoods and bathed in full sun. Fireplace, bath and separate shower, plus awarding-winning designer touches.

Beautiful Hideaway!

Wonderful place to get away from the city and decompress. The house and grounds were beautiful and well equipped. We enjoyed our family Thanksgiving in this cozy home.

Very special spot

This is such an adorable house and property. So many nice touches and truly a lovely retreat, inside and out. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, which was great for sound privacy for our work calls. The house is close to the road, so you can hear cars drive by, but with all the other incredible features of the house it doesn't matter all that much. (And we are extra sensitive to sound in general.) Would love to stay there again. Truly a wonderful spot.

Enjoyed our stay!

Sue’s place is even more beautiful than the pictures! It was a truly lovely respite for our family. The hosts were very responsive, communicative and warm. The house was comfortably furnished and it was such a joy being able to have our dog Gracie with us., we can’t wait for future opportunities to visit this beautiful place.

Three generations at still light Poland

We found the building and its history very interesting. The kids love the pond, although I wish there have been less growth around the edges. It would be nice to have some kind of a bathroom facility at the tent, if only a chemical toilet. we all enjoyed hiking in the area, and seeing the old growth redwoods first.

This property is magical

We are absolutely in love with Still Light Pond and plan to return annually for as long as the owners are willing to make their incredible place available. We had the dreamiest anniversary week soaking in the natural beauty, gorgeous house and surrounding areas. Hosts are gracious, helpful and responsive. We cannot wait to be back. An incredible stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Still Light Pond House. It exceeded our expectations in all ways. Sue could not have been more helpful and generously shared great restaurant ideas and things to do in the area. The house is tastefully and creatively decorated, and we instantly felt at home. We fell asleep to the sweet serenade of frogs and awoke to cheerful birdsong. Thank you for an amazing retreat in a fantastic area, and we can’t wait to come back again!

Still Light Pond is a beautiful place. The house is comfortable and well maintained, and the property is beautiful. Occidental is a very cute town with some great food. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. We had a great stay.

Charming, comfortable and convenient

Beautiful property near Occidental. Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The day started with the sound of birds and view of huge trees from bed. The day ended with shooting stars in the hot tub. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Exceeded Expectations

The photos are lovely; in person, the property is even better. Beautiful, peaceful, harmonious. Spacious, nicely landscaped grounds and well laid out and generously appointed home. Also a close drive to so many of our favorite places - Wildflour Bakery, Goatrock Beach, Willowcreek. So much to appreciate. One of the many highlights was simply waking up to the magnificent views out the master bedroom windows. Our family was so happy. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Wonderful home and location

We loved this property so much. The architectural character and detail of the house was delightful. Each room was cozy, spacious, and filled with light and beautiful views. The outdoor spaces were beautiful, and there was lots to explore. The location was really convenient - close the beach, Occidental, and Sebastopol.

Great getaway

This location is a perfect place to spread out. My family enjoyed the boat, hammock in the redwoods, hideaway of the tent cabin, hot tub, porch and deck, and beautiful and peaceful views from the whole house.

Sublime Time at Still Light Pond

We spent 10 glorious days at Still Light Pond. The house is warm and comfortable - the master bedroom is stunning! We enjoyed many hours reading on the deck and shade porch, walking the property, swimming, hot tubbing, and enjoying meals at the dining table. Occidental is a a great area for bicycling or taking a scenic drive. We were thrilled that the Occidental Farmer’s Market was open. Sue and John are wonderful and gracious hosts. We look forward to coming back.

Lovely and serene

Charming house set on large lot. Lovely kitchen and modren master bedroom with lots of pillows and comfy places to lounge. Perfect for our long weekend in wine country. We didn't want to leave! The property owners are fantastic communicators and gave us lots of recommendations of places to go and things to do. All in all a perfect weekend.
