We are wanting a FULL refund. This is a nightmare. Our home in Kentucky was lost to a fire March of this year and we lost everything and needed/looked forward to a week of therapy etc My wife gets 1 week vacation a year and upon arrival after 11hr drive the house was not ready and the cleaning people just arrived . We had to leave and when we came back the house was NASTY. Hairs from dogs and human were all over bed covers/pillows and bed bugs (pics) in every bed except the bunkbeds.House was infested with mosquitoes biting ants and large roaches (pics/video). 2 large 11/2" roaches crawled across my wife while sitting in the living room chair. 2 large dead roaches by the headboard in bedroom and filth under the beds, black mold on blinds etc. We do not feel safe and cannot stay due to the conditions and wanted a FULL refund. The owner advised " there are no refunds givin and roaches and ants wont hurt anyone."This reservation and its condition has ruined our vacation and expectations of a relaxing week of therapy and the owner was rude his wife even called us and said "we were something else by complaining and expecting a refund". I could go on and on. I/we have pictures and video's of it all and they just said "it didn't matter and there will be no refund. We lost our money and paid another $2000.00 and stayed everynight in a motel in Foley. NEVER again.
Easy walk to the beach. Comfortable outdoor furnishings. Liked the gates on the deck; easy to allow the dog to hangout with me. Beautiful view of the beach. Bed was very comfortable. Very relaxing stay.
Perfect location, short walk to the beach. You are away from the hustle and bustle of everything. Could use some updating as the bunk beds are in pretty rough shape our kiddos had to sleep elsewhere. Could use some pest control as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We had a great stay. The house is pet friendly which was great for us. We brought our two small dogs. It is obvious that it is a pet friendly house. There is only one bedroom with a door ..it isn’t the master. It worked fine for us. It is a bit of a walk to the beach, would recommend a wagon. We had a good stay. It did seem a little pricey, but we made memories and you can’t put a price on that!
Walking distance to the beach for swimming or fishing. Hiking trails near by too. The house had everything you may have forgotten at home! Plenty of linens, a washer and dryer, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, cups, plates, and silverware. It's a good 20+ minute drive to get to Gulf Shores, so buy your groceries on your way in! There is an amazing local coffee shop next to the Exxon station and Dollar General on the way in, you WON'T be disappointed when you stop there!!!

Great little house
House was well stocked. This is our second trip to this house. Not the biggest/nicest/cleanest but everything worked like it was supposed to. I'm already planning a third trip. I do not like that the sale is final. It's the only property I have seen on VRBO that doesn't allow cancelations.
Rented the Beach House for a week to join a large family gathering. Solid quality house to enjoy the Gulf view with coffee in the morning, from the comfortable chairs inside the house or with a short walk to the beach. Dunes surrounding the house gathered nature for viewing to every window of the house. If you ‘re looking for a comfortable house nestled in Alabama’s moon light nights listening to the frogs and shaded deck seating to hear the birds sing in the morning, I found all abundantly at the Original Beach House.
Will be returning.

Con- To shorten your drive. Avoid interstate 65.
We could see the water from any of the southern windows of the house.

Think Twice
Wonderful house/cabin although it is not 2BR. It's 1 BR with an open area with 2 beds. Mike told us Saturday afternoon before we arrived that the W/D was not working but would have someone out Monday to fix it. That didn't happen until Wednesday. The HVAC was not working and was not fixed until Tuesday. The code did not work on the front door after Wednesday and after repeated texts and phone calls, we did not get a response which meant we had to leave the door unlocked while we went to dinner. Mike seems like a nice man but I think it's time for him to retire from property management or hire a professional.
We could see the ocean from bed! The location is so close to the beach, we loved walking there daily. It felt like a private beach after we walked maybe 5mins east. It is about 20 minutes to all the busy 'stuff' that Gulf Shores has but that's why we chose this location. To be away from that. The street has other rentals but was very quiet.
Our children loved the bunk beds. They were a little disappointed the tv / vcr setup in their room didn't work to watch tv or have any VHS tapes for kids, perhaps check the library or garage sales for cheap or free kid movies before you visit here.
The queen bed nearest the ocean facing windows sinks to the middle so it wasn't as comfortable for us but we managed. There is no door for that room and are no closets or hooks to hang your clothes. We used the bunk bed room to hang some things up. And used the small children's dresser to put clothes away. However, there was a leather toolbelt and metal tool in the bottom drawer? And books in another. There was 1 really old box fan that only worked on high blast. But the AC and heat works great. During our stay in March we had to use both!
I rated lower for cleanliness. We found large hairballs (we assume dog?) behind the door in the bunk bed room. The towels were old and some had stains and holes in them and the flooring was stained and ripped in several areas in the kitchen and bathroom and just looked dirty. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine near the toilet. We tried wiping everything down with sanitizing wipes and ended up just buying an air freshener, when the cleaning didn't help and kept that door closed. And as other's said the washing machine has mold on the inner ring, we wiped off as much as we could.
In general, the home was comfortable, quiet location, well stocked with kitchen supplies, and the full size washer/dryer in the bathroom was great. But just looked a bit old and some of the supplies tattered. Careful on the deck, its very rough and weathered and both of my children got splinters. Also, there is quite a large step up from the kitchen to the living room and rest of the original house. Minor annoyance but could be more of an issue for someone less able to hop a step.
The house is a simple little wood frame with large windows on the Gulf side. It's an easy walk to basically a private beach. We had technical difficulties so Mike sent out a repairman. Then Hurricane Sally turned right into Gulf Shores so we had to leave. But nothing about the house or property can be faulted. We even met the house keeper and she is a nice lady who keeps the house extremely clean and neat. Mike is working with us for another stay and he is a straight up good guy. And he has a straight up amazing little house on the Gulf.
The cabin/cottage was super adorable and quaint. The walk to the beach was a little farther then we expected but still close enough. The cabin was equipped with just about everything you could possible need. We had a wonderful time, making memories with our fur girls.
We love Fort Morgan and have been going for years. This location for the money was great. Crystal clear water all week! We brought bikes which made it easy to get to beach. We were told on day one we could not leave our tent on the beach BEcause of sea turtles , but the second day we noticed everyone left their tent and chairs. One reason we love Fort Morgan is because you can leave items on the beach, which makes it so easy. Entering the home we noticed the bed and realized there is NO door for the room with two beds. So that made it a little hard at night if someone wanted to watch TV, use the restroom or enter the bunk bed room. You could not escape the lights and noise. That should have been listed on the homes description. No closets!! We had three adults and two kids. Finding place to put suitcases was difficult. I had my clothes in the living room. They did have a hanging shelf on the bunk bed room wall. WiFi went out one day and I emailed the owner, he responded very quickly. We replugged everything and it started working again. Also note that we had 5-10 cars park from sunrise to sunset in the front of the house. So we had people walking up and down in front the house everyday. Killed privacy a bit of you are on the deck. The beach was not packed where we were, but it was near the condos on each side of us. So it was a perfect spot! Someone did steal my daughters Nike sliders we left on the boardwalk, so Don’t leave shoes!!! People had small beach fires, so we made one on the beach too and that was cool!!! The bathroom smelled like mildew. I think it’s from the shower water getting on the floor or the washing machine. We couldn’t figure it out. The sewer tank or whatever is under the deck smells rotten, so you have that every time you walk off the deck. We took family photos behind the home on the Dunes and they came out Great!!! We took them on our way out and the cleaning lady showed up at 11:06AM. So make sure you are out at 11AM. Which we were out the house, but just taking last minute Photos. All in all great trip, a few things could have been improved. For the money it’s a good house, great location and owner was quick to respond. Banana boat and parasail next door at Beach Club was fun! Enjoy!
This was the second year that I stayed here! The original beach house is amazing! Very short walk to the beach! I would highly recommend this house to anyone! I will be back!
*Had trouble getting in the first day due to the app not alerting me of the message containing door code. So we called owner and received no answer. Called customer service and stayed on hold for 15 mins while they tried contacting owner without success. Then I found the email with door code.
*Washer in bathroom had mold inside door and can not be removed. (We tried)
*Ad is old as the front room shows box tv but had bigger TV in person. We brought our own as we thought we would need it.
*Kitchen seems to have a cockroach infestation. And they are huge. (Ranging 2-3 inches)We found 1 and thought it was just from outside and shrugged it off. Found 4 more later that night. We are in the process of leaving asap to avoid taking anything home with us.
*5ft snake was found on the porch so please be careful.
We have 3 children from ages 1-13 and they are too scared to sleep
We do not blame the owner for any of these issues since we figured the environment caused the bugs and snakes but hopefully they do something quick
Great location. Great view. Had to leave a day early though due to the beaches being closed because of Covid-19.
