Be welcomed by gently sloped seven acres of peace. Notice to your right when coming in the cantilevering dock at the one acre 'pond'. After a day of rafting or shopping relax with cool breeses. Morning coffee with extra quiet. The warm setting of natural wood finished
interior brings peace to the soul. A welcoming sunroom to start your day with coffee and the morning view.
Our yard is big and level enough to handle V-ball, soccer, football or /what ever you bring as a hobby.
We have acres of pleasant walking areas for private exercise and time for strolling to relax and gather your thoughts. Private, Quiet and Convenient.

5 minutes away - Gem Mines... Franklin has always been known as 'The Gem Capital of the World' ! Young and old alike enjoy the thrill of finding their very own precious gems including sapphires, rubies even some emeralds. What will you take home?

10 minutes away - 'Pickin' on the Square' That's right. In our own town we have local tallent, some great, some funny and some you've never seen the likes of. Banjos, guitars, drums, Cloggers and Buck Dancing. An evening of pure entertainment downtown, Saturday nights and Free !

60 minutes away - Nantahala Outdoor Center Beginning & intermediate White Water rafting for the entire family. The Ocoee River, Home of the Olympics White Water Rafting, a serious Class4 is 90 minutes west of Franklin.

60 minutes away - Cherokee Indian Reservation Native American culture, crafts and art work, trout fishing, live bears and much more!

Winter includes snowboarding, skiing, snow tubing and hot chocolate. Numerous activities are very close to Franklin.

Wonderful cottage in a pretty valley

Oh my goodness, the view from the sunroom is amazing! It is very peaceful and beautiful here. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They let us know of things to do in Franklin and the surrounding area. We had our pet with us and she was able to be leash-free in the very large, fenced pet area. The views are pastoral and the bells that gently ring in the distance were so pretty.

Lovely Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Franklin. Everything was near perfection . The cottage was wonderful....very inviting, comfortable and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. The owners were very nice and available. The cottage had everything we needed, including recommendations for local businesses to visit and restaurant's to try. This mini vacation to Franklin was just what we needed and the area was just wonderful to explore and see the beginning of the fall leaf color.

Heaven on earth

My husband and I loved our second time staying at the cottage. Everything is so beautiful and peaceful there. David and Jennifer are wonderful host and hostess. Can’t wait to return for a stay in the spring.

Beautiful place to stay

Jennifer and David were awesome hosts. They were helpful with anything we needed to know about Franklin. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The scenery was beautiful having the mountains to look out at while having breakfast. We had our two pugalier dogs with us and appreciated being able to have them with us there. There is a pond to fish in. It is close to town but feels like you are away from it all.Highly recommend staying here.

Peaceful Retreat

The perfect peaceful retreat we needed for a time of solitude and contemplation. The view of the mountains are beautiful as are the valley below. We were graced by the presence of deer feeding right outside our window both morning and evening. The Algers are wonderful hosts and treat their guests more like friends than renters. This is our sixth year staying. We highly recommend.

Little Slice of Mountain Paradise!

My fiancé and I were looking for a relaxing, soul rejuvenating stay while we visited family in the mountains and did a little sightseeing — and we wanted to make our mini vacay a meaningful escape from the “big city” for our pups as much as for us. David and Jennifer’s Vrbo was perfect! They are both such warm and welcoming hosts, and the view from the sunroom is unbeatable. The large dog kennel left our pups so happy and blissfully tuckered out. Added bonus: We could faintly make out the Milky Way on our nighttime walks with the dogs. 🌌 Amazing stay all around!

Cozy cottage/Spectacular views

We had a wonderful stay. The cozy cottage was perfect with its incredible views. The beds were so comfortable and the cottage was clean. Everything we needed was there. We cannot say enough about our host David and Jennifer. They were very welcoming and informative. We highly recommend this place.

Better than advertised. Beautiful view, quiet relaxing and unusual.

Super view, rural, great for a couple or possibly 1 young child. Short drive to many restaurants. Good weather. 45 minutes of narrow twisting narrow highway to beautiful lake. Price was reasonable and hosts had equipped it well.

Peaceful and relaxing!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Dave and Jennifer's beautiful property! They were great, friendly hosts. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our small dog. They thought of everything when they furnished this place. The view of the mountains and pastures from the sunroom (where we spent a good bit of time) is fantastic. The cottage was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed (and then some). My husband enjoyed catching and releasing some small fish in the pond on their property. The Franklin area has a lot to offer and we just love the mountains. If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to get away from it all, this is your place.

Awesome!!!

This little cottage is such a wonderful place, for humans and dogs alike. The view is absolutely spectacular, our dog loved the fenced in area so much. And the hosts are such warm, wonderful people, you do not want to leave when your stay is over! We will definately stay there again.

Little bit of Paradise

This is the most beautiful peaceful place that you can really forget the outside world and just enjoy the beauty and peacefulness around you. We can't wait until we can return to spend more time here. There are not enough stars to rate this place.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was immaculate and well stocked with the basics. It was quiet and restful with a beautiful sunroom view which overlooked a pastoral scene with mountains in the background. The host was very friendly and accommodating. Our stay could not have been better.

Our Special Place

This was our second visit this year to this wonder retreat. We absolutely love this cabin and the Algers! Dave and Jennifer go out of their way to make sure that every stay is perfect. We had a wonderful week celebrating my Husband’s birthday (made even more special by a sweet treat from the Algers). The view from the cabin never disappoints and area itself always has something to explore. We will be back soon.

BEST time ever !!!

We loved our short holiday in Franklin with all the things to see nearby. But the best times were spent in our cottage just relaxing and taking in the view from the sunroom. Dave and Jennifer have a little slice of heaven on earth in their lovely property, and we enjoyed talking with them during our stay. They really care about their guests and have an exceptional knack to make sure they feel cared for. We'll be back!

Lovely guesthouse, but no privacy. Owner's house is right next to it

The guesthouse is very clean, cute and has a lovely view from the front room. No complaints about the actual guesthouse. However, there was no mention in photos or description of the very large owner's house literally steps away across the parking area and that they are outside a lot of the time. No privacy at all. Also, a dog run and the wife's separate art studio are directly in front of the room with a view. The porch faces the main house. Based on photos and description, I thought I was renting a private getaway in the mountains. Please look at street view on Google maps before you book. I wish I had. PS I just rechecked the listing to ensure I didn't miss something. No photo shows the owner's house and it is not mentioned in the descriptions.
