Rustic and quiet. Many nice touches. Enjoyed watching the bluebirds and hummingbirds. A good place to get away from it all. Had a problem with the internet.

Felt like family.

We loved our stay. We travelled seven hours to the area for a friends wedding and found The Cabin felt more like staying at a close family members house than in a rented property. We hope to get the chance to visit the area again and if so, stay in The Cabin. Hosts were very accomodating and very easy to work with. We highly recommend!

AMZING STAY

We cancelled our trip to Florida due to our flight issues. It was just an unexpected/rush booking to this lovely cabin so we can made up the excitement on our trip. It was the best decision ever to come here! Ten starts out of five! Very clean, quiet, close to the lake, there’s a nice restaurant nearby, and great for unwinding and be close to nature! They have a lot of kitchen utensils/stuff to use which I love the most. You’ll feel at home and relaxed! Definitely coming back! I highly recommend!

Charming Cabin in a quiet setting

The cabin is cute and perfect for a quiet get away. My wife and I went to Kentucky lake to relax and go fishing and this property was perfect for us. It has a fully stocked kitchen with all things needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is also a gas grill on the deck. Large TV with Dish in main living area, made relaxing perfect for us.

Wonderful stay!

We have stayed in the cabin several times and always look forward to returning. The minute we walk in the door we feel at home. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need, large refrigerator, the bed and all the furniture are comfortable, it is very close to the marina and the restaurant has good food. If you come at the right time of year you will see a lot of hummingbirds. Marilyn is super easy to contact and a really nice person. Can't wait to come again!!

Beautiful and Comfy Cabin

We would not have asked for a better cabin to stay in for our three day stay in Kentucky. The cabin is stocked with everything one might need and communication with the owners are excellent. It is super close to Kentucky Lake with a lovely restaurant and marina called Cypress Springs. If you are looking for a weekend getaway for two to relax, I highly recommend staying here. You do have to drive about a half hour into Murray to do any significant shopping, but there is a Dollar General nearby for basic needs. The ceilings are rather low. My husband is 6'2" tall and his head hit the ceiling in the bedroom. That isn't really a complaint, but just thought a taller person should know.

I absolutely love this place. Perfect for coming here to fish or just a cozy getaway. This place just makes you want to relax once walking in the door. The owners Joe & Marylyn are are the sweetest, and very helpful if you need anything. I totally recommend this property. I rate it a 10!

Nice quiet stay

The cabin is clean and well kept. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We loved this cabin, it's in a quiet area close (within walking distance for us) to a marina and restaurant with good food. Marilyn and Joe we very responsive by text and answered any questions we had. We hope to come back again. It was the highlight of our vacation.

About the host

Hosted by Joe & Marilyn Thornton

Joe ran a Auto Body Shop for several years, then worked on farm equipment & machinery for several years, is retired and keep our rentals looking good on outside. Marilyn worked for several years for KY Farm Bureau & then local Cable company for 22 years, now retired and enjoys keeping the rentals looking good and looking for something new to put in them or hang on wall.
We have 2 daughters and 3 grandsons, you will see their pictures if you visit either of the rentals. We are proud of our family.

Why they chose this property

We were looking for a camper to be able to stay at the lake, our Grandson saw the cabin for sale on TV, he came over and couldn't wait until we went out to see it, we loved it and knew it was for us at first sight. This was our lake house, we never thought of renting it until we purchased the Cottage next door, when we started renting The Cottage we had an overflow so we decided to rent The Cabin. We have never been sorry, we have met the nicest folks and it brings in extra income since we are retired.
