This charming beach cottage offers a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern finishing. It is conveniently located on the 2nd row across the street from the beach on South Shore Drive , Topsail Island, NC. Public beach access #34 is approximately 175 Footsteps away. The home offers a partial view from the spacious, relaxing front deck. This affordable beach vacation can sleep up to 6 people comfortably, including children.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a private bathroom; the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed while the 3rd bedroom has two twin bed.
The large kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans, dishes etc to provide a pleasant experience for those who wish to prepare meals at home. The house has been remodeled with ceramic tiles in the common areas and beautiful engineered hardwood in the bedrooms.
here is ample parking for up to 6 cars. Beach chairs are provided
Surf City/Topsail Beach offers a family-oriented beach vacation. There are locally owned restaurants and a few beach shops, bike, surf board rentals etc. There is an IGA, Food Lion, Walmart market with a Publix supermarket. Surf City is convenient to Camp LeJuene in Jacksonville, NC.
What makes this house special is that I manage it myself which means I go there regularly to clean and make sure everything is well organized and in working order. I provide little extras to get you started such as dish powder, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags etc. My goal is for my guests to have a great experience at my cottage by providing a home that is clean, comfortable and well equipped with necessities so you can have a great vacation.

getting there

The owners had just come off of remodeling, and every little thing wasn't done ( but the price reflected that) and they were very accommodating in helping to fix the few items that were left undone ( and informed us ahead of time). I have no doubt this will be a great rental! We were 2 families, so all of the boys stayed in the bunk room with the adults each with separate bedrooms. Great set up for us. The pics do not do it justice- super cute and more spacious than it appears!

WONDERFUL house close to the beach!

Great location and house. easy access to the beach. Lots of good restaurants just a short drive away. It's a nice house, with plenty of room and the tiled floors were great for the dogs, easy to sweep up! Owner was communicative and easy to work, would definitely recommend this place!! The only 'issue' we had was it was Final Four weekend and there was no ESPN. :( It wasn't a problem for the men's games but the women's were only on ESPN stations.

Great Little Place

I was concerned about fitting 8 people in a 3-bedroom, but this house surprised me. We had plenty of room. It was clean, well-stocked, and had quick/easy beach access. Though it rained a bit while we were there, the place felt dry -- without the dankness you feel in some beach houses. The master bedroom is spacious, and there is good closet and storage space throughout. I have a few minor suggestions for improvement: the outdoor shower was great; if it were private/enclosed, it would be better. I would consider adding more clothes lines -- of course, with the easliy accessible washer/dryer, one might argue you don't need them -- and I would add a mat inside the front door to wipe your feet. The porch doesn't offer gaping ocean views, but we enjoyed sitting out and watching the rain and pelicans none-the-less. Overall, the house was affordable and very comfortable for my family. I especially loved the new appliances in the kitchen and the water/ice on the refrigerator.

Just as described

This was really a great week and this little beach house was just what we needed for our vacation. The location is perfect and only a short walk from the beach access, however this particular access (34) has no ramp like many others in the area, so wrangling our loaded beach wagons up stairs was a little challenging, but not a deal breaker by any means. The house was very clean and cozy, we didn’t have any issues with any appliances or household items. The beds were comfy and clean as well. Minnie was very responsive and made it very easy to book and access the property. No issues, and will be back for sure!

Great Beach House

Great beach house. Well equipped, clean and close to the beach with easy access to the fishing pier, shops and restaurants. The house has everything needed for a relaxing vacation and the owner is very nice. We will look to stay again.

A perfect spot

Our family enjoyed our stay at this well appointed beach house. Everything we needed was available including beach chairs and boogie boards. The location just a few steps from the boardwalk was convenient and an easy way to access the beach. We had a small problem with the door lock, but this was quickly and efficiently repaired. We loved our stay and Miss Minnie.

Perfect spot for a private family vacation

This was a perfect house as everything that was advertised was delivered. The best part of this rental is the location. We shared a good portion of the beach with 5 other families. There is not public parking in the area, so the beach is pretty much private. The traffic getting on and off the island was a pain, but the new bridge should be opened by next year. We had a blast and will look to come back in the future.

Very clean, roomy, and well appointed Beach House

This is a nice house with hardwood floors, and ceramic tile. It was one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed in. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The rooms are spacious. There was a laundry room which was a plus. It is on the main road so if you have small children or a dog you will need to keep a close eye on them when they are outside. However the deck does have a gate on it to keep them from going down without you. My only concern was that the WIFI didn't work while we were there although our hostess did try to assist us with it. And the back yard needed a little TLC. I would stay there again.

I wish we had stayed longer. Clean home and a quite beach was exactly what we needed. Kids and our dog had a great time. I'm sure they'll remember this trip as one of the greatest ones.

Perfect spot for a family vacation!

We were first time renters and a bit nervous about getting the right house for our family vacation but we were very excited when we arrived. The house was exactly as pictured and in a great location for access to the beach. We had 6 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone. House comes with everything you need. Minnie was great to work with and she responded very quickly to all of my questions before we went. I can see a return trip in the future. Thanks Minnie for making our vacation so nice!

Just what we wanted!

Family Gathering

We have used this site for several family vacations from coast to coast. Ms. Minnie provides a wonderful home on the beach with everything you need - a true (HOME AWAY FROM HOME) Very clean and neat with all you need. She makes the process effortless and will work with your vacation dates. Owner has a wealth of knowledge about the area, where to eat, fish, play etc. Ms Minnie Thank You for your home. We highly recommend this home to other families and when we return to the area will look at re-renting. The community was quiet and accommodations comfortable. A very relaxing area. Beach chairs are provided to enjoy the Carolina sunrises.

Love it!

I really love this rental house. Plenty of space. Lots of nice updates. Really close to a beach access. Big fan of the nice enclosed outdoor shower. Comes in handy when you have a toddler who enjoys rolling around in the sand.

Highly recommend this beach home! We had wonderful vacation.

My husband and I stayed here with our son and his wife. We were very happy with the house. It was described exactly and we were very impressed with the owner who was very pleasant to work with. She was very prompt and always answered any questions we had. The home is very clean and we enjoyed the covered large parking area and rinse off area downstairs. A very short walk to beach gave us a very quiet and beautiful beach. Even with the main road in front of the house it was very quiet and easy to get around. Great seafood about 5 min away in surf city. We enjoyed going to south end of island also which was 5 min drive away with great parking. Great memories were made and we appreciated this beach house.

3 fishing guys

We were 3 guys to go for a short fishing trip to NC, never heard Surf City before. It is a great location we had a lots of fun... but not a busy beach city. Minnie`s house was great, clean, friendly everything we needed, I would go back with my family too , 2 little boys. Beach is only for steps away... Thanks Minnie

Home away from home

Had a wonderful weekend at surf city. The home was great and very comfortable. Plenty of space, easy beach access. Even had chairs and umbrella For the beach. Just a great place to stay and take your kids or someone else kids like we did. Just two suggestions add towels and a small tv in guest bedroom. Great as is but those would be a plus.

Absolutely perfect!!

This rental house was perfect for our week stay! There were five adults and a small child and we had plenty of room in the house. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had no problems cooking supper every night. The entrance to the beach is a hop skip and jump down and across the road. It was no trouble at all to carry all of our chairs coolers and tent out. The owner was also very friendly and helpful any time I had questions prior to our stay. If we come back to topsail we will definitely be staying here again!

Clean and Spacious

Minnie was wonderful to deal with! She went out of her way to help accommodate us around my Marine's planned return back to the states. The house was very clean and spacious.The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. Due to some microwave issues that were not with in the owner's control I gave four stars....I am sure that that issue was dealt with promptly. Having a full sized washer and dryer was very convenient----the typical smaller ones wash maybe four items of clothing.

Home away from home!

Very nice and spacious house - plenty of room for everyone! Loved sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings and it was so easy to walk over to the beautiful beach. Had all the amenities we needed to be at home away from home for a week!!
