“Tutu’s Place” is a fully furnished one bedroom condo located in the heart of Carlsbad Village. With a king bed, queen sofa sleeper and a comfortable dining area, the unit can accommodate a family of three. Plank flooring and a vented skylght provide a comfortable, contempoary feel to the condo.

We had a great holiday here. The flat was exactly as described and had everything we needed. The location was excellent, we could walk everywhere and Faye was very friendly and easy to work with. We can only recommend this spot and plan to be back again next year!

Modest accommodation in an ideal location. Short walk to the coast, beach, sunset walks, State Street food and drink. Reserved parking space is a delight, especially during busy times.

The location of the condo is perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and a short walk to all the restaurants and bars. This complex is one of our favorites and we’ll definitely be back.

Amazing few days in Carlsbad!
This place is in the perfect location, close to everything including the beach, coffee shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Just the right size for a couple, full kitchen, very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

This was the ideal spot for me to stay in Carlsbad - I could walk to anywhere: the beach, local shops, restaurants and live music venues. It was also a wonderful condo in beautiful condition - couldn't have asked for more!!

Carlsbad is the best
I rented this place because I wanted to be in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The location was absolutely perfect. We could walk to everything. So, as far as location, this place is perfect. The owner did an excellent job communicating with me over a glitch with the portable air conditioning unit. Which we got resolved.

Great rental near beach
We enjoyed very much our stay at Tutu's Place. The condo was clean, comfortable, and located conveniently close to the beach and downtown Carlsbad. The cost was reasonable. It was a little noisy but then we live in the country and aren't used to city noises. Overall it was a very positive experience and we would definitely return.

Upstairs condo was just the right size for my husband and I to visit friends for graduation celebration. Felt safe, away from the busiest streets, yet very accessible to all we needed, especially to walk the Carlsbad promenade or beach. All kinds of shops and restaurants nearby. The condo itself is older but comfortable. Bed was good. Kitchen was adequate for the cooking we did. The hostess was always available if needed, though we missed meeting her as she was under the weather.

Great place by the beach
This property and area was awesome. Clean and stocked with all you need. The area can’t be beat. Restaurants, coffee, and bars close by. Parking right below the unit. Fans cool the place down. Bed was a little squeaky but comfortable. Nice towels. Didn’t use the beach stuff but there was some beach stuff also. Stay here!

"A relaxing retreat in the heart of Carlsbad" is a very accurate description of Tutu's Place. The Monterey Gage Condos are a little Oasis and when you step out of the lovely gardens you are right in the laid back village of Carlsbad and a short stroll to the beach and ocean. Tutu's Place is extremely comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home. Faye was very helpful throughout the booking process and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. We love Carlsbad and our stay at Tutu's place perfected our vacation there. Great stay and we hope very much to return. Thanks Faye and Peter

Carlsbad Village Getaway
The property is very nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the good natural lighting provided by lots of windows and the skylight. The property was exactly as described and very well supplied with everything we needed for our stay. The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful when little issues popped up that we needed help with. Would highly recommend because of its location and convenience in regards to the beach and many fine restaurants and shops all within a few blocks. The only concern I would have is if you aren’t used to a train running nearby all day and into the evening, it could disrupt your sleeping. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Loved 'Tutu's Place"!
What a wonderful "home away from home"! Tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished, this charming condo was perfect for the two of us to celebrate our anniversary! Everything freshly painted and sparkling clean; comfy bed and silky sheets; grounds are lovely and well kept. The location couldn't have been better! We walked the short block to the boardwalk at Carlsbad Beach nearly every day, and the Village shops and restaurants are only a couple blocks away, as is the "Coaster" train station. Hopefully, we can stay here again on our next vacay in Carlsbad! Despite the noisy train and nearby traffic, it was a minor disturbance compared to all the positive aspects! Our owners were very accommodating and thoughtful and were awesome "hosts"; and we would unquestionably recommend it to others!

Why they chose this property

We love this condo complex! This was the property we stayed at when we first visited Carlsbad. We discovered how wonderful a location this is for our walks to the beach, exploring the village, and spending Tutu (Grandparent) time with our young grandson who learned to walk here. After our initial 10 day stay, we decided the Monterey Gage condos was perfect for us, and knew that we would be returning.

What makes this property unique

Despite its modest square footage, the unit feels spacious because of its open beam ceilings and vented skylight. An added benefit - there's no one above us or below us. This condominium complex provides privacy yet gives easy access to the vibrant Carlsbad community.
