A lovely village house on the edge of a national park with a secluded garden.
La Oliva is a beautiful village house, large and spacious with the rare facility of a lovely secluded garden, patio and barbecue area. A place to sit in the sun or shade can be found at any time of the day. The house was beautifully renovated many years ago which makes it feel original, the many windows give a feeling of space and tranquillity. The ground floor has a large airy living room with adjacent dining area, both with wonderful views through the large windows over the village, the furniture is all lovely traditional Ronda Olive wood. All rooms have beamed ceilings and the sitting room a lovely open fireplace. There is also a kitchen with further access to the garden and a cloakroom. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom ; sleeps 4. The house is perched at the very top of the village, the garden backs on to the National park and deer come up to the garden. The bars, shops and restaurants are a few hundred meters away.

Quiet, traditional and calming stay in a beautiful white village
This is a lovely, simple house high up on the hill in Montejaque. It’s very basic (especially the kitchen) but that’s the point. It has lovely, cool tiled floors, big windows that open out over the village and is just a couple of minutes walk to the restaurants in the plaza. The views are wonderful. It’s a truly relaxing spot to while away a few days exploring and just reading books. In summer, the upstairs bedrooms get very warm and there are mosquitoes at night when the doors are open but so be it! The village pool is absolutely lovely and well worth a visit. Overall, we loved it!

Ruim en fijn huis met heerlijke tuin in mooi wit dorpje
Ons verblijf in Montejaque was heerlijk.

Wonderful house in wonderful surroundings
Absolutely wonderful house above the equally wonderful village of Montejaque!
We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a good starting point for excursions to Ronda, Grazalema and the gorgeous landscape.
And Maria is a wonderful housekeeper!
We hope we can come back some time...

We felt perfectly at home here.
We - a family with two small kids - spent a week in September here and loved the house. It is located in the old part of the village and the views from its windows outlooking the village and valley are stunning. We spent a lot of time just relaxing in front of the living room windows. The house is cosy and a little rustic, in the sense that furniture and fittings aren't the newest, but everything was clean, comfy and in perfect working order. The kitchen was well equiped - we did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also well equiped and comfy. The little garden was welcome for outdoor meals and star gazing in the perfectly clear nights. Families with toddlers should be aware that there are open stone staircases in the house, but ours managed them fine. We really enjoyed being right inside a "White Village" and getting a feel of the andalusian village life: little chats with the neighbours and old ladys resting on their way up the mountain. All in all it was a perfectly relaxing week and we were very sad to leave!

Wonderful house
My wife and I have holidayed in white villages across Andalucia in the past few years and La Olivia is definitely among the very best houses we have stayed in. Stylish and comfortable inside, a beautiful garden for sunbathing and dining, a peaceful and tranquil setting and, from the front terrace, fabulous views over the village and the surrounding countryside. What more could you want? Montejaque is without doubt the friendliest villages we have ever stayed in and we will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

Charming & Relaxing
A charming and totally peaceful house with a great feeling of space. A really pretty enclosed garden and lovely views from front terrace. Tastefully furnished in a simple rustic style, the property had everything we needed. We look forward to our return.

Beautiful Spanish House
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property - If you are looking for a typical spanish village, surrounded by beautiful countryside then look no further. We took our 12 year old daughter, although she did enjoy days out and the use of the local swimming pool, she did moan every time we had to walk back to the house due to the fact it is all up hill (very steep). Still, she is much fitter now! We hired a car which we had to leave parked in the village as it is not possible to drive to the property (too narrow and too steep - a 'Smart' car would be ideal). Parking was never a problem and once parked it is not too far to the house - 10 minute walk approx but all up hill. Hardly anyone speaks English so if you speak Spanish a huge advantage. Everyone is friendly and all Tapas bars and resturants in the village are extremely good value for money. We found when we travelled to Ronda and Puerto Banus/Marbella we paid at least double and the food wasn't that much different, perhaps a few more frills but that's it really. We all went horse-riding - this was absolutly fantastic, unbelievable views. We visited many places. We would recommend Ronda, Grazemala and if you are horse crazy a trip to Jerez where you can watch Andalucian stallions perform to classical music and then view their stables and grounds (this is a must). If you do not hire car then there are plenty of local walks along goat trails, high in the mountains, where you are surrounded by panaramic views and Griffin Vultures flying above amonst other varieties of birds. Caving is close by this we enjoyed also.
We would return and stay in the same property.

Charming village and lovely house
My family had a relaxing but fun week in this lovely house.
Lots of walks (some more like scrambles following goat tracks and
scaring griffin vultures) many trips to taps bars both in Ronda (Traga
Tapas is a must!) and in the village ( the bar in the refurbised hotel
is great), BBQs for lunch on the terrace (we even managed to cook
paella on it) and in the evenings relaxing by a big log fire...what more more can you ask for?

Sleepy village busy bars - what a combo
A great place to chill with enough to keep you occupied so
you can never be bored! Notable were the walks, the swims in the river
and the tapas bars in Ronda. We also had a trip to the beach. The
house is lovely, light and airy and with a great range of places to
eat , catch the rays, read a book or just have a gin and tonic.
