Over 190 lakes are within the Boulder Junction area, along with 14 miles of biking and hiking trails.

Which ones of these below have you checked off your list?

✔ Fish the best Musky lake in the area.

✔ View the stunning fall colors.

✔ Swim, canoe, sail, and ski on the largest lake in the area.

✔ Relive your memories of summers at Campo Fiesta.

✔ Experience small-town America, and its local activities.

✔ Bike the 50+ miles of extensive bike trails through the area.

✔ Hike through the pristine Northern Highlands State Park.

✔ Attend the annual Musky Day Jamboree.

✔ Enjoy the warmth of campfires on cool summer evenings.

✔ Start a family-tradition that your kids will remember forever.

Each cabin has its own campfire site and charcoal grill, and access to the dock, water front, canoes, paddle boat, and kayaks. Each cabin has parking but boat trailers should be parked on top of the hill, where it says boat parking, as it can get difficult to maneuver trailers by the cabins.

Someone is usually on-site most of the day, and at night.

Great location!

Stayed at The Ferns for a week on fishing trip. If you are fishing Trout Lake, you can't have better location. Perfect cabin for our group of 3. Plug-ins for boat, all essentials, and a fish cleaning station just short walk away. Property manager was quick to fix the one issue we had. Great communication throughout whole booking process. Would definitely stsy here again if went back to Wisconsin.

up north perfection

Small family managed spot, clean cabins with everything thing you need for a rustic up north experience. Beautiful hiking and biking trails located on a quiet lake with a shallow, Sandy beach. We had a great week with wonderful hosts.

Northwoods Nature

Great experience and excellent value. Tracey was very communicative and patient beforehand with our questions & Gary, Sue, and Lynne were delightful on-site. We wanted a week to unplug and sit around a campfire but got much more in the bargain. Our girls (ages 3 & 5) loved the beach, my smarter half fell in love with the nature trails, and I found the fishing challenging, but that couldn’t be helped. Great experience, would recommend. Also, the nearby zoo is a must.

Front door didn’t lock. Fire alarm in main room didn’t have a battery. Luckily, neither of those mattered. Great place overall. Two thumbs up.

Awesome lake and woods setting!

Beautiful clear-water lake surrounded by woods including nearby nature trail, and civilization (groceries/restaurants) only a couple miles away. Kayaks and paddle board available for free. We saw loons, eagles, and even a porcupine during our stay. If you love nature but don't want to be too far from food, this is the place! Cabin is better than advertised and even had decent wifi. We search every summer, but it will be tough to find a better northern lake vacation!

The North Woods At Its Best.

I highly recommend Campo Fiesta! It was more than I could have expected. Our deepest thanks to Gary, Susan, Lynn, Tracey (Sorry we missed you), and Alex. We had a very relaxing, rewarding vacation. We can't wait to come back up. Review details: Clean, well stocked and appointed cabins. A very friendly and helpful family run business. Very quiet and serene property. Bring food and drink and you're set. Rent a pontoon. So worth it.

Stay at Trout Lake near Boulder for the Fall Colors

Simply had a great time on this trip and the property was as advertised. Quiet, fully operational, and clean. There is ample room to explore and a beautiful beachfront. Walking trails in the woods connect to the state campground trails and this was also a nice plus. Biking in the area to the bike trail was quite easy with the option to get there directly from the property. If you need something, Lynne lives right on the premises and was able to answer any questions we had or address any issue promptly. I would say they went above and beyond my expectations. I would definitely stay here again. Fall colors were simply beautiful.

Clean & Cozy

The cabin is very basic, but has everything you would need to enjoy the beautiful setting on Trout Lake. Beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of warm blankets available (we stayed in November during a snowy cold snap). The bathroom is large and had a surprisingly great shower with plenty of hot water. The wi-fi did not function at all during our stay, so I wouldn't expect it to be available...just make due. The cell service up here has improved greatly over the years, so we were never without a connection to the internet or to make calls. Also, there is no TV in the cabin, which was fine with us, but you may want to bring up something to watch a movie on if that is something that you need for entertainment. Overall, a really cozy and clean place that allows dogs, which was really great to find up here. Downtown Boulder Junction was great and lively for this time of year, which was great to see. We had a really wonderful dinner Saturday night @ Aqualand Ale House. Do give it a try when you are up!

We used it as a great base for exploring.

The cabin was in good repair and well stocked in housekeeping supplies and utensils -- beyond our expectations. Everything was clean and worked and the on-line pictures were accurate. The owners were welcoming and gracious, like long term good friends. We only used the cabin for sleep because we spent the days from breakfast to the evening campfire with our extended younger family camping in the nearby state forest. The uncontrollable weather (cold and rain) precluded using the place's water craft and swimming beach or perfectly placed lake side patio. But the cabin's two wall mounted heaters kept the place cozy.

Outstanding! Without exception this property is 5+ stars.

6-27-16 I am a seasoned outdoors person who has a lot of experiences from back country backpacking to exclusive resorts. For the money you will not beat this property. In more detail: The entire property is immaculate (inside and out). No undergrowth throughout the property to hold excessive bugs etc. The trees have all been trimmed properly (just enough) to get great views of the lake but not barren. Many fire pits throughout the property (each cabin also has their own) with Adirondack chairs. Plenty of cut wood to grab when needed. The entire cabin was VERY clean with comfortable beds and plenty of sitting areas. Bathroom and kitchen extremely clean with all working parts (stove, oven, facets, micro, toilet, hot water, etc). The water front and pier are in excellent condition with sitting areas throughout the property. (Added bonus of a concrete patio so the adults don’t have to constantly be sitting in the sand) with ample tables next to the chairs for a cold drink. The beach area is clear of all debris. Water front seems to be approximately 200’ wide with a swimming area that is 0-3’ deep as far out as 200’. The building that was the dining area from the original girl’s camp can be used for ping pong, reading a book or kid’s toys up to 6 years old. Owner went out of their way to bring in a fish cleaning station with plans to build a new station with a roof and screening. One of the owners (Lynn) lives on the property. She is VERY nice and gives you your space – however she is accessible whenever you need something. I highly recommend this property. Stay here - you’ll love it

Fiesta on the Lake

Excellent owners and staff, friendly, and accessible. Only, and I mean only draw back was the limited internet access. Otherwise, nice secluded area with excellent lake access

About the host

Hosted by Tracey Mancheski

Host profile image
My name is Tracey Mancheski and my family and I rent out 4 cabins at Fiesta On The Lake. The property has been handed down to us from my grandparents who originally ran the private girls camp, Campo Fiesta, on this same spot. While I am in charge of the booking, there are several other family members that take part in the day to day running of the cabins.

Why they chose this property

Trout Lake just can't be beat. Between the sandy bottom, clear water, and changing topography there is always something to see and explore. In addition, or property connects to the state forest and a walking trail goes from our cabins to a state hiking trail. Loons, eagles, squirrels, deer and an occasional bear can be found near the property.

What makes this property unique

Ferns overlooks North Trout Lake and is more private than a few of our other cabins. In addition, there is an outdoor outlet to charge boat equipment in the back of the cabin. Ferns has a small electric fireplace creating a lovely atmosphere on a crisp fall day.
