Spectacular, newly renovated Farm House on 10 Acres. Our 2 Story home with its open concept has been designed for your enjoyment! Situated in a relaxed country setting, expect to see deer, turkey, song birds, & the occasional family of fox. We take pride in the large Sunflower field we plant each spring for summer picking and photography, a local favorite. We are located 1 mile from Torch Lake & Downtown Alden. Easy access to Harbor/ launch site. Plenty of parking at the Farm House for your boat & or snowmobiles. Enjoy all the surrounding, quaint villages nearby. Enjoy Italian fare in Alden at The Blue Water Bistro. We are 15 minutes from Bellaire where you will find the renowned Shorts Brew Pub, delicious coffee and treats at Market M-88, the Bellaire Theater & much more! We are 6 minutes away from the local highlight: Torch Lake Sand Bar. At the Bridge you can enjoy a delicious dinner at The Torch Riviera. You will also find 2 well appointed Marinas for all your boating needs. Looking for Northern lights

Loved The Farmhouse

All the comforts of home at this charming Farmhouse. Loved the kitchen island and spending time with family here. Slept well in the comfortable bed on the main floor. Also appreciated having three bathrooms (2 full, 1 half)! Conveniently located only 1 mile from Alden.

Country Getaway

We absolutely loved this farmhouse for our base of operations for our week in Traverse City and the surrounding areas. Lovely trails groomed into the property, and many chances to view the local wildlife. Located super close to Torch Lake and all the exciting activities there. Short drive to Traverse City and surrounding areas to see the wonderful sights Michigan has to offer. The property was clean, beautifully renovated and quiet. We stayed cool and comfortable with all the lovely windows and fans even without AC. Host was very easy to contact and super responsive. A+ vacation rental, would highly recommend!

I felt unwelcome

I felt unwelcome on check-in. The hosts were accusatory and somewhat off-putting in their communications. They were suspicious of the clearly fictitious name VRBO added from Google, I didn't even add this name as it was scraped from Google. That's fine, I emailed them late at night when I landed but I'm no scammer. They demanded a list of names of people who will be staying and made us meet them to checkin even though the door had a code and no key is necessary. I had to plan my family reunion around meeting them and they would not accept a 2 hour window. I understand northern Michigan is different from city life but I've never had to give a list of names like I'm checking into prison. They added unnecessary stress to my family reunion at the end of the day. I've used the other big bnb website and VRBO for years, never any issue or unwelcoming hosts before this. The house is fine, it's a decent Northern Michigan property that met my expectations. It's not bad. They maintained the property well and the house was cozy and decorated well. I didn't spend much time there but the beds were fine. Overall the hosts would get a 2 out of 5 stars. The property would get 5 stars for meeting my expectations.

Lovely

Property was lovely and clean. The house was perfect for 4 adults and 2 teenagers to spread out and be comfortable. No air conditioning, but definitely did not need it. The owners obviously care about their property and take great care of the house.

Beautiful property

The owner great and lives next door. She brought us a small appliance to use when requested. The home is clean and beautifully updated. It is close to Alden. He surrounding property is quiet and pretty. We appreciated the paths that were mowed and walked them several times. We saw several deer on our stay. Our only complaint is there is no air conditioning. We knew this ahead of time and brought a couple of fans ourselves. There were also other fans to use there and ceiling fans. One night of our 8 was almost unbearable as it was hot and muggy and none of could get cooled off. Overall, this is a great place. It is convenient to the area’s activities, yet in a quieter, country setting.

Beautiful property

This house was located on a beautiful property. The check in process was easy and communication with the owner was great. It provided a great central location for our family to explore Michigan. We would definitely stay here again.

Just Perfect!

This property is excellent! Krista met us at the property and the first thing you notice is how immaculate and good smelling it is. Everything you need is at this property and then some. It is exactly as advertised. The house does not have AC but all 4 days that we were there it was in the low 80s and we slept upstairs with the window open, fan on and had to cover up with a sheet and blanket in the middle of the night. Everything is updated and new. I would highly recommend staying at this property.

Beautiful home in a great town!

This home is beautiful; well decorated, comfortable and so peaceful! The surrounding country side and mowed trails are amazing. There are so many areas inside and outside of the house to sit down, read, relax or gather with family/friends. I love that it is in the quiet countryside yet just a mile from town. The owners were great! good communication and shared information on places to eat, Torch lake, and running routes (most of us there were runners). We had a wonderful stay; kayaking on beautiful Torch lake, running on the quiet rolling hills, cooking in and eating out & relaxing. The town is so cute and welcoming too!

Pulmonary nurses getaway

The house was incredibly charming with special touches throughout the house to feel like you were at home. The grounds were immaculate and simple gorgeous to walk the neatly groomed trails. Again, the home was beautiful decorated and the kitchen ideal for meal preparations and to gather together. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom space more than you could hope for with five women.

Farmhouse Stay

We rented this house to stay off site during our wedding. We loved the location, set up of the home, the kitchen and patio out back. It was a great place to stay and I’m sure we will rent again in the future.

Just amazing!

Property was very clean and well decorated. We enjoyed the proximity to the local lakes especially Torch Lake! Next time I hope we can stay longer! Property owners were very nice and even stopped to say hi and gave us fishing advice for the area! Highly recommended!

We are already booked for our 2023 visit!

This property was absolutely perfect! The furniture was comfortable and the space was decorated beautifully. The patio was the perfect spot to enjoy coffee and breakfast in the morning while watching birds and other wildlife. I like that the firepit was positioned so the smoke from the fire didn't find its way to the home. The home really had everything we needed, plenty of seating inside and out, towels & linen. The kitchen included everything we needed to prepare and eat meals. We reserved our visit for 2023 before we even left the property!

Torch lake weekend

This farmhouse was absolutely beautiful with attention made to every detail of this charming home. The home contains so many extras that made our stay relaxing. From a fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms with shower supplies to the outdoor yard with fire pit area. Can’t wait to make a return visit!

Great indoor and outdoor space

This property was very well appointed with everything you'd need for your stay. Great outside space and furnishings. Beautiful property in a country setting but very close to the small town and great lake. Kitchen and general supplies were one on of the best stocked of VRBO's we've stayed in. Owner was very responsive and a great host. We even left some clothes in the closet and he contacted us for our address to mail them back to us. Great service! Highly recommend!

We are coming back - PERFECT place!

This farmhouse was perfect for us! Out on 10 acres and QUIET and peaceful yet close to Torch and Bellaire. Things to know: *Super cozy/country yet updated and modern and so comfortable *It is so quiet you can hear a pin drop and hear every bird. So peaceful. *Owner was SO accomodating and met us upon check-in *I LOVE when a property has necessities like cooking oil and coffee and doesn't throw out everything after the last guest so that things don't get thrown out unneccesarily. *SO nice to have a washer and dryer *OK if you're coming to do some work, the WIFI was spotty (he already told us that) - so don't think you're going to get this high speed WIFI ....welcome to Up North *The owner mowed some trails on the acreage so we could take walks *THANK YOU! We will be back

We are originally from southern Michigan. We moved to Alden in 1998 to start our own businesses and raise our 3 children in this charming, small town up north where we spent our own childhood vacations. We love this area and how it has shaped our family. We live on 5 acres nearby the Farm House. The Farm House has been a very heart felt renovation project for us that we hope to own, share with our family & rent to new found friends for generations to come! Phil & Krista

What makes this property unique

Although completely renovated, we think you will love the charm that still resides in our Farm House. We worked hard to keep the special details you would expect from an early 1900's home. Notice the solid wood counter tops we constructed from the original ceiling joists we removed in order to create flat ceilings in the house. A large piece of the past preserved and certainly celebrated!
