Tanda Tula means ‘place of peace’ in the Zulu language, and you will find the gated home and its grounds the perfect place to relax. On 1.25 flat, landscaped acres, and surrounded by vineyards, the property consists of a main house opening onto a pool, hot tub and gardens, as well as a private cottage, a barn and a studio.
Main House
The house consists of three stylishly appointed bedrooms, with one large tub for two, and showers in the two bathrooms. The beds all have Duxiana, Simmons Beautyrest or similar hotel quality mattresses with high thread count Egyptian cotton linens, and down duvets and pillows. There is a California king in two of the rooms, and a queen in the third.
The living and dining room are furnished with modern country pieces and wine country artwork on the walls. A wood burning stove and 42 inch flat panel TVs with DirectTV and DVD player provide comfortable areas to relax around a game or to watch a movie. A high quality Sonos music system and ceiling mounted speakers throughout the house provide rich music for your stay, controllable from your phone, and wireless internet and a computer are available if you wish to stay connected.
A modern kitchen with Subzero refrigerator and 5 burner chefs stove with warming tray provides everything needed for the most delicious meals. Coffee maker, French press, toasting oven, mixer, waffle maker and Wusthof chef knives are among the many appliances and accessories to this well equipped kitchen.
The home is equipped with both heating and air conditioning for all seasons, as well as washer and dryer. Large French doors bring the outdoors and views of the vineyards inside from every direction.
A mains connected Weber barbeque is available on the deck for outdoor cooking.
The patio offers a modern concrete firepit and comfortable lounge sofas for enjoying a cheese plate and a glass of wine, while a large rustic outdoor table seats 10 comfortably under the filtered shade of the arbor. French style café tables and chairs offer additional seating under the redwood or walnut trees, and adirondacks by the pool or on the lawn are another lovely choice for relaxing.
Cottage
The cottage is newly remodeled and private, with open beams and a sliding barn door, sleeping two on a queen bed, and another two on a futon. Ceiling fan, heating and air conditioning help offer a good nights sleep. Well appointed shower, Bluetooth music system and flat panel TV are further amenities.
Gardens and Pool
The gardens offer a large lawn for throwing a ball, or a game of croquet, surrounded by palette of wine country grasses, olive trees, and a little vineyard with 8 different varietals of table grapes. Fruit trees include persimmons, plums, apples, figs, pears, nectarines, pomegranates and cherries, while a seasonal herb and tomato garden are yours to enjoy.
The regulation size bocce court offers another great way to enjoy an afternoon.
The hot tub warms up quickly to 104 degrees and the pool is solar heated to extend the season for its enjoyment. Several modern chaise lounges and large adjustable umbrellas set the scene for a perfect day by the pool.
Studio
The Studio is a classic, small and private wine country cabin, next to the main house, recently remodeled, and consisting of a well-appointed room with queen bed, 42” flat panel TV and Xbox, with beautiful French doors opening onto a private patio with French café table and chairs, in the shade of a mature redwood tree, and with commanding views of the pool and garden. The studio is detached from the main house and does not have its own bathroom, so may be more suitable for day use, depending on your needs.
Barn
The barn is the perfect place to enjoy a game of pool or table tennis, or for the kids to hang out and listen to music or play on the back deck.
