Everything covered
This is a beautiful barn conversion offering superior levels of comfort. All too often when you stay away from home it doesn’t feel the same. Jo has gone above and beyond to ensure this isn’t the case. From the quality linen and towels to the coffee machine and welcome basket Jo wants your visit to feel special. She’s there if you need her but not if you don’t. The peace and quiet are welcoming but you can’t forget that you’re on a working farm. Right outside your property you can spy Deer at dusk, hares in the fields and heron in the lake. If you’re looking for somewhere nice to stay, that feels like home, surrounded by peace and quiet which offers a good central location to discover the best of Suffolk/Norfolk including Southwold, Bury St Edmonds, Aldeburgh, Norwich although maybe give Ipswich a wide berth this is the place for you.

Relaxing stay
The barn has been renovated to a high standard and is well looked after. The property is furnished with everything you could need for a trip away from home. A lovely welcome basket was provided also. The garden and location was very peaceful and Jo's communication throughout was very prompt and friendly. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will be back to visit family later in the year.

Lovely barn conversion
My wife, baby, dog and I stayed in this wonderful barn in Suffolk. It had plenty of space, as well as a big enclosed garden for the dog to run around in. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room - with full barn-height ceiling, was beautiful. The owner, Jo, was always available to contact and was very helpful in resolving a minor issue which arose. There’s a footpath across some fields very close by, and a great pub/restaurant only a few minutes walk too. We will be back!

We had a great time at the lovely Dove Cart Lodge
We were very impressed with the quality of the accommodation at Dove Cart Lodge. The building is very smart inside and out, and there is a large lawned garden, which our children greatly appreciated; good for general running about, French cricket, frisbee etc. Whilst the exterior of the property looks pristine, the interior retains the wooden structure of an ancient farm building. The whole of the property has been very carefully and tastefully restored, with a keen eye on the requirements of modern families. All fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need, a nicely fitted bathroom, and two generous bedrooms. The main living room area is very impressive with it’s double height ceiling with exposed structural beams. There are plenty of things to do within easy driving distance. Southwold is a wonderful seaside town; the Pier with Tim Hunkin’s ‘Under the Pier Show’ is a must see, and I also enjoyed the Adnam’s Brewery Tour. Great Fish and Chips in the Lord Nelson Pub. My children also enjoyed the ‘Maize Maze’ just outside Southwold. Aldeburgh is also a lovely Seaside town, with freshly caught fish available from it’s famous ‘fish huts’ on the beach. As well as this we enjoyed a very enjoyable day’s canoeing on the Norfolk Broads, hiring canoes from ‘The Canoe man’ at Wroxham, and the Sainsbury’s Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich is also well worth a visit. For those interested in history, Suffolk and Norfolk were home to many thousands of American airman during World War II, and we also visited a couple of small local museums which told the story of the US Airforce’s involvement in the war. This was the first time in many years that we have spent our summer holiday in the UK, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Who needs the Dordogne, when you can have Suffolk?

Stunning location and beautiful property
We had a fantastic week at Dove Cart Lodge, the accommodation was beautiful. The location was ideal to reach many interesting places and also in the immediate area there were lots of lovely walking and cycling routes. This is the sort of location you can do as much or as little as you like. Dove Cart is so comfortable and well equipped, you cannot fail to be impressed. Thanks you for a lovely stay. Wonderful long terms stay at Dove Cart Lodge - 5STAR!
Our stay would be longer than most, The Dove Cart Lodge became our home for 6 weeks and over the Christmas period. The property is wonderful, if you are looking for a place to stay which allows you to be in the countryside but not too far from civilisation then you should consider this property to your list. The house has been treated to a sympathetic and modern approach in its recent refurbishment carried out. Specific mention should be made to the kitchen layout which is again modern but also very useful... the lounge area (comfy) has access to large rear garden and outside seating... we would have loved to fire up the BBQ but the inclement weather on our stay put stop to that! Services such as weekly bed changes are a step ahead to other properties how just change as you leave. Also the property has internet. Directions to the property are easy & Vehicle Parking is abundant! From the property you have the option of walks in nearly every directions, our son enjoyed visiting the cows barns (this is a working farm) which are nearby and this just improved the stay. In the evenings there are some wonderful sunsets and golden/red skies to be enjoyed wither from the lounge or (if your brave) outside. At night its great to see the stars in the sky as you when you stay there will not be cars or urban lights to spoil. Some areas which would have made improvement (for me anyway) to our stay and keep the property up with modern times....... USB chargers in wall sockets, maybe a more quality television combined with Sky for those residents who stay in. Overall a 5 star experience.... Thankyou!

Clean, spacious, comprehensivenessly fitted in a country setting.
After a very difficult flight into the UK and then awaking to the first morning light in the Lodge, we thought we must have died and gone to heaven. A small starter kit of provisions was on the table. We sat in the garden over breakfast watching pheasants, their young, partridge, rabbits and all. We would thoroughly recommend it.

A lovely property in a lovely location
The property is a former barn that has been beautifully renovated and now provides a spacious, stylish holiday home with all home comforts including a full sized, well equipped kitchen. When we arrived we found a welcome pack of local produce including bread, beer, cheese and shortbread, generously provided by the owner. The barn is clean and well maintained and its location on a farm and is quiet and relaxing. There is a large garden with outside table and chairs and a nature trail passes the end of the garden, leading to a lake. We shared the garden with a pheasant and we had a great treat on our last morning when a hare came through the gate to nibble the lawn. There is a pub within walking distance and the lovely historic village church is also only a few minutes walk away. The charming seaside town of Southwold is only an hour away.
