About this property

Private Cabin Hideaway On 1 Acre; 5 Minutes From Downtown Prescott

Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family

Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.

As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only four other homes nearby. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels, rabbits, or even wild turkeys!

This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch cable TV or streaming services.

This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the map!

Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.

Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small areas in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

Please contact us with any questions. We hope you enjoy your stay at Copper Basin Hideaway!

Turkey road
The wild turkeys were a hoot trotting up the road and onto the property. It's cozy but advertised a wood burning wood stove but you have to burn dura flame not wood. The duraflame would not light, the water heater is too small, the mattress and recliner need replacing, I have never stayed somewhere that did not supply coffee and the tub is slippery.Good location though.

Quaint weekend getaway
We booked a few weeks ago so that we could schedule to go to some area festivities with the kids and our family dog. We had great communication leading up to the reservation and they were informative, but most of all they were useful. The cabin is small and a cozy area for all of us. The bedrooms upstairs were just right for our kids (6&8), while we opted to sleep on the pull out couch. We arrived in the dark on Friday, but had no problems finding it. We got settled in and then headed into town to grab some food from the suggested sites that were in her little book. Saturday morning we awoke to some clouds and a few snow flakes. As we got out and walking about, we passed by probably thirty or so turkeys and a little later a small herd of deer that were friendly. The cabin is thoughtfully furnished and had most everything we could need for a weekend getaway. It was very clean and we will most definitely come back. My favorite piece was the feel of the warmth of the fire in the little stove on my feet as I reclined back and enjoyed a nice afternoon nap while reading.

So much fun
This was a great little getaway. Only complaint was we only stayed for two nights. Lol. Sat on the patio for morning coffee and evening drinks. Saw deer families, bunnies, etc. my grandsons loved the upstairs so much. We went on a walking adventure around the property and saw so many neat things. Will definitely be at staying again

Lovely wildlife, property, nearby amenaties
The property was close to hiking and downtown. The only issue was the loft steps. They were easy for the two of us to manage. Cabin was clean and well stocked.

About the host

Host profile image
We fell in love with Prescott and moved here 13 years ago. After enjoying the wonderful activities, historical sites and outdoor adventure, we decided to purchase this cabin for others to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

Unlike many of the rentals in the Prescott area that are surrounded by other homes, this cabin is set in a very quiet, private section of town on 1 acre, with the unique bonus of being only 5 minutes from the activities on Whisky Row - Historic Downtown Prescott. You will feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but with easy access and paved/maintained roads - it's a true Cabin Hideaway!

What makes this property unique

Large deck with grill for enjoying the mountain air; Inside fireplace/stove for crisp winter nights; Access to the Prescott Hike/Mountain Bike trail system; Five minutes to the Prescott National Forest.
