About this property

PEACE AND TRANQUILITY AWAIT YOU HERE!

We are located in the heart of Amish country off the beaten path. We are minutes from the Kickapoo river where you can canoe or tube. If biking is your thing, the Elroy/Sparta trail and the 400 trail are close at hand. Wild Cat Mt. State Park is less than 5 miles and has hiking and horse trails for you to explore and we are close to public hunting lands. We have pasture available with a water source should you want to bring your 4-hoofed friends. Amish produce auctions are held twice a week and there hidden treasures to be found on back roads from bulk foods, cheese, furniture, baskets and bakeries. We are also 45 minutes from Wisconsin Dells.

We have a 1 bedroom farmhouse with a queen bed made be local Amish and a futon that opens into a full size bed. Living room, Franklin stove for heat and a fully equipped kitchen. A fire pit is available should you want to sit out under the stairs. Cell service can be sporadic and the TV is for movies only. This is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the business of life. Relax, read, reflect and renew before heading back. We hope you'll love it here as much as we do.

Peaceful Country Getaway

The title says peace and tranquility await you here, and that is what I found. Comfortable and clean, located within picturesque rolling farmland and convenient to Wildcat Mountain State Park. George and his wife live nearby and are welcoming and fun to talk with about the area. On a clear moonless night you can see the beauty of stars and the Milky Way being so far from city light pollution.

Ontario WI - Kickapoo Valley Region

George & Janet were wonderful hosts. Very kind and generous. The peaceful farmhouse was immaculately clean with modern updates. It’s a beautiful area to just drive around through the hills and valleys to see farm animals and wildlife like bald eagles, deer, turkey, etc. There are several Amish farms in the area selling baked goods, flowers, produce, quilts, furniture, etc. A hidden gem in the Drftless region.

The most peaceful place

We’ve stayed here for the 4th of July week, for 3 nights, and I’m telling you that’s the perfect place to recharge your batteries if you live in the city. The house was very clean , cozy and rustic . They also have 3 cute donkeys that my kids enjoyed them a lot. Don’t forget to check on the Amish market . George and his wife Janet were very friendly and useful with informations about surroundings. Thank you for a perfect stay .

Comfortable stay in a beautiful valley

We loved staying here. The place was cozy, with a nice wood stove to keep things warm and a full-equipped kitchen. We had fun with the cows and donkeys on the farm. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing Stay!

Awesome get away to unplug! Cute little farm house that is well maintained, George was beyond accommodating, and the donkeys & "Oreo" cows were a bonus. Gorgeous scenery and stargazing! Loved it.

Great place with wonderful owners

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean offering everything that was promised. The owners went out of their way to be sure we were satisfied and taken care of. He even went out of his way to help me in a small jam during hunting season. I would return here without any hesitation. Thanks again to the owners.

Mindfulness retreat

It was great to get away to a location FAR off the beaten path. Recreation abounds in the bluffs and the remote family owned bar(n) was a great feature that is only a 10 minute walk away. Sit out on the front porch and watch the donkeys and cows in the pasture. The added attraction of a 3 day old calf was so cool. Great owners and user friendly modest accommodations.
