Waterfront rental home with private dock on Core Sound, only minutes from Drum Inlet! This charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath house is the perfect getaway for a quiet vacation. With stunning views of the Core Sound from the back deck or kitchen windows, you will see shrimp boats and local fishermen heading in and out to the sound from the nearby commercial harbor. The house has a renovated bathroom, 2 small bedrooms, and kitchen, dining and living areas. Air conditioning throughout the house.
A dock is perfect for a skiff or any other small craft that can handle the shallow waters (2 to 3 feet) of Core Sound. The dock from which to fish also has a covered roof with a swing to read or to simply relax in the coastal breeze.
The property is pet friendly (any size), has high speed internet, as well as a washer and a dryer. Kayaking, ferry available to Core Banks from Atlantic; owners live across street

A slice of heaven!

Great little place !

Home Away from Home

On our 10th year and never gets old, our happy place next to home. Enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Added attraction was seeing the Sea Turtle for the first time. Brenda and Richard have been great hosts as always. Hope to be back next year, God willing.

Quiet, comfortable, and fun!

This is our 4th stay at this house and 10th stay at this town. We love the area! Everyone is friendly! The house is perfect for us as we bring our boat. We caught and ate crabs from the dock using our crab pots we brought. We fished inshore and offshore during our trip and enjoyed cooking our catch on the grill. We already booked for next year.

A wonderful escape

It's a very quiet location and we spent the majority of the time on the back porch or covered dock. It's water as far as the eye can see. The home has about everything you can think of, and as the supportive hosts state in the write up, it's best to bring what you want although the dollar general down the road will have some basics and more. If you want to take the ferry to Ocracoke or drive to Beaufort, Morehead, Atlantic Beach or the coastal cities beyond, this is a reasonable base. One day we rented a kayak (Beaufort kayak delivered) and rowed across the sound to the uninhabited Core Banks, which had thousands of shells for the picking and no people or bugs (or people that bug you, lol) so it was our own private island. On the way we went past Bird Island (not mapped) and saw a mass gathering of pelicans, seagulls, and egrets, although the first two were also constants at the house. We also saw a school of dolphins cruise by the house one day. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Richard and Brenda!

Perfect Peace

My wife and I enjoyed our trip to Atlantic. The house was just a pleasant as described. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Brenda are wonderful host. They went out of their way to ensure that we had a great trip. The community reminds me of when I was a child and everyone knows everyone. This was one of the most peaceful vacations that we have been on in a LONG time. Treasure Cottage

We loved our stay at this very quaint and peaceful cottage. The cottage has everything you need. Loved the covered porch overlooking the sound. Another great stay!

This was our second time staying here and it was just as lovely as the first time. We were a little early for fishing but we still tried our best down at the dock! The ducks were migrating north and one day we must've seen thousands of them flying by in a flock for over 30 minutes. It was really interesting and so beautiful- and our dog enjoyed watching them from the dock. If you're looking for a cozy, quaint cottage in a laid back little town, this is the place for you! Exactly what you see !

Cute home and cozy. Owners were a wonderful couple that took care of all our needs. Definitely a little far from businesses but enjoyed driving to the nearby towns. Dollar General is close by. Will definitely come back.

Peaceful Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. It was clean, had comfy beds, and the kitchen was nicely equipped to cook any simple meal. There were clear instructions on how everything worked. We enjoyed the time on the patio, and the attempts of fishing of the dock. We even got a bag full of Atlantic sea shells from the lovely hostess. We felt very much at home! Holiday Getaway

What a wonderful place to stay for Christmas and New Year. Very peaceful and quiet.We arrive a little early and the owners was so gracious to let us check in early. The house was very,very clean and decorate so cute. They even have some items for the kitchen such as coffee ,creamer ,sugar and spices. We wasn't able to catch any fish but did catch two crabs and four whelk in the crab pot. Enjoy going to Pine Knolls Aquarium, Cape Lookout and walk up to the wild horses on Sharkford Banks. If you want to get away from all the big tourist attractions this is the place to stay at. FIVE STARS

It's like coming home...

Every light in the house was on and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The king fishers were out and the other sea birds dropped in to "chat" on the walkway. I have been here many times but there were spectacular orange sunrises that started the mornings. The residents wave at everyone while driving by. We're welcome here.

Richard and Brenda have had family in the Atlantic, NC area for generations. This is a wonderful area that they have enjoyed visiting for many years while working. In retirement, they have built a new house across the street from what is now the rental property.

Why they chose this property

This property was passed down from generations and Brenda and Richard decided to make it a charming quiet home on the sound. Significant recent improvements maximize the waterfront elements of the property including a dock and deck.
