Waterfront rental home with private dock on Core Sound, only minutes from Drum Inlet! This charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath house is the perfect getaway for a quiet vacation. With stunning views of the Core Sound from the back deck or kitchen windows, you will see shrimp boats and local fishermen heading in and out to the sound from the nearby commercial harbor. The house has a renovated bathroom, 2 small bedrooms, and kitchen, dining and living areas. Air conditioning throughout the house.
A dock is perfect for a skiff or any other small craft that can handle the shallow waters (2 to 3 feet) of Core Sound. The dock from which to fish also has a covered roof with a swing to read or to simply relax in the coastal breeze.
The property is pet friendly (any size), has high speed internet, as well as a washer and a dryer. Kayaking, ferry available to Core Banks from Atlantic; owners live across street

I felt I was a part of the community.
The sun comes up in radiant orange. The home is warm with all the amenities. The Lowdermilks have expanded the yard behind the house and made it roomy entertainment for friends and visitors. Every thing about the cottage is readily available and "in its place". The only thing left to do is enjoy the ocean,the people and the serenity.

Paradise!
What a beautiful setting. So peaceful. A quaint cottage. If you're looking for nightlife, this isn't for you. If you are looking for peace and quiet, tranquil and quiet, look no further. We enjoyed our stay so much, ate seafood several times and fell asleep to the crashing of the waves. Beaufort is just a short drive away for seafood and groceries, but dollar store has most necessities. We are hoping to go back. Even our dog chilled out!

Relaxing getaway
This property was perfect for us. The access to the pier was perfect for my men. They fished a lot and the fish were always biting. We brought our kayaks. Great little fishes.

Great stay
Perfect place to stay for a quiet peaceful vacation away from all the business and noise of the cities and crowded beaches. Also a perfect place to stay if you like fishing because you’re about 5 minutes from the ferry that takes you to long point island and about 15 minutes from the ferry in Davis that takes you over to Cape Lookout. The owners live right across the road and they were extremely nice and greeted us when we arrived and told us about the local places to eat. You can’t ask for nicer people, I would recommend this house to anybody!

On our 10th year and never gets old, our happy place next to home. Enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Added attraction was seeing the Sea Turtle for the first time. Brenda and Richard have been great hosts as always. Hope to be back next year, God willing.

Quiet, comfortable, and fun!
This is our 4th stay at this house and 10th stay at this town. We love the area! Everyone is friendly! The house is perfect for us as we bring our boat. We caught and ate crabs from the dock using our crab pots we brought. We fished inshore and offshore during our trip and enjoyed cooking our catch on the grill. We already booked for next year.

A wonderful escape
It's a very quiet location and we spent the majority of the time on the back porch or covered dock. It's water as far as the eye can see. The home has about everything you can think of, and as the supportive hosts state in the write up, it's best to bring what you want although the dollar general down the road will have some basics and more. If you want to take the ferry to Ocracoke or drive to Beaufort, Morehead, Atlantic Beach or the coastal cities beyond, this is a reasonable base. One day we rented a kayak (Beaufort kayak delivered) and rowed across the sound to the uninhabited Core Banks, which had thousands of shells for the picking and no people or bugs (or people that bug you, lol) so it was our own private island. On the way we went past Bird Island (not mapped) and saw a mass gathering of pelicans, seagulls, and egrets, although the first two were also constants at the house. We also saw a school of dolphins cruise by the house one day. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Richard and Brenda!

Perfect Peace
My wife and I enjoyed our trip to Atlantic. The house was just a pleasant as described. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Brenda are wonderful host. They went out of their way to ensure that we had a great trip. The community reminds me of when I was a child and everyone knows everyone. This was one of the most peaceful vacations that we have been on in a LONG time. Treasure Cottage
We loved our stay at this very quaint and peaceful cottage. The cottage has everything you need. Loved the covered porch overlooking the sound. Loved the binder and all the notes around the cottage that made our vacation even better. The cottage was very clean and well kept. We will definitely be back.
