About this property

This is a new 2500 sq ft two-story home including a 1200 sq ft walkout basement on a large private treed property. The property is directly on the best part of the beach in Celista. The house is quite distant from the road allowing for a setting that is peaceful and quiet. Our location is very photogenic and guests usually capture many memorable photographs in the gardens and the grounds.

On the main level you will find a 3-pc bath and a master bedroom (King). The kitchen, with a dishwasher and all the amenities, dining and living areas are open, spacious and very bright with a large Rumford wood-burning fireplace. There is a 46" Smart TV beside the fireplace that is wall mounted. Wifi and Cable TV are provided by Mascon Cable owned by Telus. From the living area, there is a large deck overlooking the lake with a new barbecue, patio tables with chairs and a comfy screened-in side porch where you can enjoy the evenings, if the weather or bugs are bad.

Upstairs, there is a 3-pc bath and two bedrooms (Queen/Double, Queen). The large loft area contains a new 55 inch Samsung Smart TV/Entertainment Centre (plus Wii U Game Console) with leather sectional and lazyboy recliner. In the finished lower level, you'll find 2 more bedrooms (Double/Single bunks, Queen) and another 3-pc bath. There is a seating area with a sectional couch , a card/games table, wall mounted fireplace and wall mounted smart TV. A ping-pong table is set up in the open area, with a view of the gardens and lake. From here, you will step outdoors into the gardens on the way to your private beach. Have an evening wiener roast or just relax by the fire pit at the water's edge on pebbles and sand. Firewood is provided in a wood shed for your convenience. There are two mooring buoys for two boats and a 30 ft long dock to accommodate longer boats. A peddle boat and 4 kayaks with paddles and some life jackets are provided.

A custom timber-frame picnic shelter complete with custom-built picnic table and cook stove and provides another sheltered area among the trees for private dining and entertaining. Next to the picnic shelter, there is a full-service RV pad available for booking upon request.

During those hot summer days, you'll enjoy the air-conditioning along with other features like ping pong. A very short walk will take you to the corner store and the Elementary School playground.

Included in your rental payment is a $200.00 cleaning fee, laundry, free firewood and access to a paddle boat and 4 kayaks. We also allow guests to bring up to 2 pets for an extra nominal fee.

Paradise

We are a family of 10 adults and one 2 year old and our stay at this property was excellent. Everything we needed and more was available for us in the kitchen and in the house. There are 5 spacious bedrooms and the closets were all nice and big which was great for the babies crib. The location is excellent and is quiet and close to the convenience store and the grocery store in Scotch Creek. We would definitely book again!

Amazing

Wonderful place for a family vacation. This property was perfect for my family vacation. The house is beautiful lots of room for everyone. Everyone had so much fun. The lake is beautiful. The house is beach front and easy to keep track of the kids. There is lots to do and if you need anything there is a store in walking distances. I would stay here again.

This property exceeded our expectations! The house was very well equipped, and the included beach accessories were put to good use. Family retreat

Our family of 10 six adults and four children under the age of five. Had a wonderful time at this amazing property. The house not only beautiful had everything you could possibly need. Extremely well setup for cooking and relaxing. Not only is it nestled in a private spot but the beach area was perfect for kids and adults alike with plenty of water toys to keep everyone happy. Our Thanks to the hosts for a memorable stay. We’ll definitely do it again😉

Great spot and spacious accommodation. The best equiped rental I have ever been in!

Cottage had everything! Lots of Kitchen utensils, all those little things that you hate to buy for a short stay like, sugar, spices, condiments, coffee filters, 3 different coffee makers etc. Very comfortable and great location right on the beach! We were a family of 4 and the place sleeps 12, so tons of room and we never really used the basementmwith the Ping Pong table etc.

Great for an extended family vacation

We stayed at this property for a multigenerational vacation (9-11 guests on any given day). The house layout was great for our three families as each group could have their own floor for sleeping and bathrooms, and plenty of space in the communal areas. The house was clean, and in great condition and the kitchen was well stocked with any equipment you'd need to cook almost any dish (even a waffle maker and slow cooker) and plenty of spices available. Mattresses and pillows were in good shape and comfy. The only thing was that you are expected to bring all linens. Sheets for seven beds plus bath, beach, and hand towels, as well as all kitchen cloths and tea towels for 11 people for a week is a lot to pack. I would have preferred to see at least some linens included and maybe have multiple sets to be laundered off site between groups and paid a higher cleaning fee. The beach is a little rocky on the walk down from the house and in the shallow area but sandy as you go out a bit further. Those with tender tootsies may want to bring water shoes. But so amazing to have the beach and dock available right outside the door.

Amazing Vacation Property!

My whole family just stayed at Doug’s lakefront property at Celista and it was an unforgettable trip! There was 8 adults and my 10 month old niece and no shortage of room, we couldn’t have found a better place to stay for our week vacation to the Shuswaps. Doug was very easy to communicate with and has thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. He was extremely accommodating and easy to reach if needed. The photos do not do this house justice for the size of it and views.. they are amazing!! A nice private beach and a dock and buoys made it easy when we had a pontoon boat rented. I would highly recommend this rental to any family and we can’t wait to come back!

Amazing vacation!!

Wow!! This place had everything you could imagine. The beach, water toys, air conditioned house, fire pit and plenty of room! We had 6 adults and 6 children sharing the accommodations. Each of us had our own floor. Tons of space, beautiful house and don't stress if you forgot something cause it's most likely there. We loved it so much that we're considering booking for next year. Amazing location and home

From the moment the door opened and the view of the lake was spotted on entry to final breakfast on the deck the four nights spent here could not have been better. 5 couples were able to enjoy group laughs and if anyone needed quite time there are lots of spots to grab a book or enjoy the view. One of the best stocked homes for water toys and kitchenware our group has rented. Tryingto find a date for next year before we leave

AMAZING HOME for a FAMILY VACAY!!

Myself, my husband , our 3 young kids (ages 5, 2.5 and 1.5 yo) and our dog just got back from a week long visit to Doug and Claudia's place in Celista. Our stay was absolutely fantastic. The moment we walked in to the house and saw the view of the lake through the full wall of windows at the back of the house, we were instantly in love. The location on the lake and views are simply stunning. We spent most evenings sitting down on the beach by the fire and when the weather was not as nice (a couple of rainy evenings) we sat up on the deck and were still able to enjoy the fresh air and view comfortably under the covered part of the deck. Our kids and dog had an absolute blast down at the beach/waterfront. Despite the freezing temperature of the lake at this time of year, our kids were in the water 2 or 3 times everyday. They loved being able to wade in the gradual entry and they also loved jumping off the dock. The only thing I would add is that the rocky/pebbly beach can be tough on little feet so be sure to bring water shoes! The house itself is clean, well organized and very well maintained. Doug and Claudia have done a great job thinking out every detail of what guests will need. We had everything we needed to be comfortable in the house - the only thing we were asked to bring was sheets for the queen size beds, which was no problem. We also brought our own spices to augment what was provided, but we could have easily just used what was at the house. There was way more than enough space for our family - 2 bedrooms upstairs, master bed on the main floor and 2 more bedrooms in the basement. We could have easily shared the house with another family with kids and still not felt crowded at all. Would also be suitable for several (4 or 5) couples. Tons of space to spread out as there is a living room area on each floor of the house. The one and only thing that we thought could be improved were the mattresses as they felt older/ worn-in. However this really didn't impact our enjoyment of the place, we still got a great sleep every night. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to be back again in the future.

A great place for a family vacation

This lake front property is well-maintained, well-equipped, and well laid out. Access to Lake Shuswap is just out the lower level of the house and down the stairs from the deck on the main level. The lake is lovely. We used the dock, swimming area, and kayaks during our stay. The kitchen was excellent as were the laundry facilities. The owner had the house more than adequately stocked with necessities like toilet paper, laundry and dishwasher detergent. The only minor negative was that the dining table could squeeze no more than 8 and even with the 3 bar stools only 11 could be seated. At our height of family members, that wasn’t quite enough. Overall, it’s a great property for a large group.

WONDERFUL VACATION

I would highly recommend Celista Gardens for a quiet and relaxing indoor and outdoor experience. The property was awesome. The house was beautifully furnished and the landscaping was lovely. The house was perfect for our group of 9 ladies, with its comfortable beds and amazingly well stocked kitchen. We all love cooking. The lake front with private beach was perfect for swimming, paddling and casting/ jigging for rainbow trout off the dock...never could catch one even though they were frolicking all around the dock! Thank you, Doug & Claudia. We hope to come back again.

Owners are retired and reside in Calgary, Alberta. Doug was a Professional Geologist who worked in the Canadian Oil Industry for 40 years. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia and graduated from Dalhousie University. Claudia worked for legal firms in Calgary and orignally came from Ottawa, Ontario.

A wonderful get away to one of the most beautiful and accessible large lakes in British Columbia. The property is heavily treed and is very private making it a great retreat from the rest of the world. The pebble beach and the water clarity make it a great place for all the water sports like swimming, snorkeling, boating, fishing, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing, etc.

What makes this property unique

You will be staying at one of the best locations on Shuswap Lake close to many amenities and great natural scenery. If you like water sports, this is the place for you. Thousands of people visit our area of the lake in the summer. Watersking, wake boarding, tubing, paddle boarding, swimming, sailing and fishing all take place right off our beach.
If you are a golfer Talking Rock Golf course (18 Holes ) is 20 minutes away. Anglemont Golf Course (9 holes) is 15 minutes down the road.
We are close to the Adams River which is famous for its Fall Sockeye salmon run and Crowfoot Mountain is revered as a quality snowmobile destination in winter and offroad area in the summer for motorcycles and ATVs.
