My husband and I spend the weekend here for my birthday. Cabin was spotless, comfortable and so quiet. The sound of the river was just what I needed to relax. Make sure to visit downtown Ellijay for great food and a variety of shops. Definitely want to return!
The cabin and property exceeded our expectations. It is well equipped and the furnishings were extremely nice and comfortable. The location was private but conveniently located. We would like to stay there again sometime.
Tranquil City escape. Peaceful property with the sound of rushing water at all times. The firepit was terrific next to the river. The kids collected rocks from the river, and we also enjoyed the indoor fireplace. We stayed over Christmas. Our local family came for dinner and presets. The games and foosball table were great entertainment. The hot tub was relaxing, we have stressful jobs in major cities, and appreciate the restful activities. I'm going to rent this property again in the summer months. and foosball
It was as an amazing 3-day stay. Relaxing, rejuvenating, and restorative! From the babbling creek to the red-head woodpecker, sitting on the porch in a rocking chair with a cup of coffee was my ideal vacay. Thank you!
The property was easy to find, spotless, beautifully furnished. We found everything we needed. The owner was very helpful & nice. We especially enjoyed the rushing water sounds and roasting hot dogs & marshmallows on the fire pit. Best place we have ever stayed!
We loved the location of this wonderful log cabin. ‘‘Twas so easily accessible to the main highway and both Blue Ridge and Ellijay. What great little towns! The living room was comfortable and well appointed. The screened porch was wonderful, and the hot tub quite relaxing. We did wish the path to the hot tub was a bit safer. Just some flat concrete stones would work nicely. I am a nurse and I’m always thinking ‘ safety’. We loved the lay out of the cabin and its privacy, but I will say that the king size mattress was one of the hardest we’ve ever slept on.
I think we would come back again if we could have the issues resolved that disappointed us . The first one was the dock. This cabin is advertised with a picture of a useable dock by the river, and the only one there is is a dilapidated structure cordoned off with yellow caution tape. We were looking forward to sitting there and couldn’t , nor could we climb on the steps to the river because the only place to hold onto was the questionable dock. Just remove it and that will eliminate further disappointments. Or at least don’t advertise it. Also, instructions to use the TV don’t match with the remote. Numerous calls were placed for help, but those went unanswered. Thank goodness we subscribe to a streaming service so we had TV, just not ‘live’. I know we would have loved the fire pit, but the yellow jackets got first dibs, and one sting was enough. Disappointments aside. We still loved the cabin and will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Great Waters Cabin. Everything about it--the style of the cabin, the easy process of check-in and check-out, the furnishings--was inviting and welcoming. A genuine jewel vacation spot!
Great cabin! I immediately relaxed when I stepped out of the truck and heard the water rushing over the rocks.
Every morning was coffee by the river and every evening was a cocktail by the river, very relaxing. nice kitchen comfortable bed wonderful view of the river.
Positive:
Right on the creek, perfect for kids.
Good size yard.
Easy access to everything the Aska adventure area offers.
Clean.
Plenty of blankets and pillows and extras in the kitchen.
Negatives:
Hard beds.
Lack of hot water and not so great shower heads.
"Screened" porch has lots of holes and rips and the wood plank deck allows mosquitoes in. They ate us up on the screened porch.
Deck on the creek is falling into the creek and had caution tape up.
Hot tub had so much chlorine, we couldn't use it. The fumes were too strong.
We decided quickly that this was our favorite place we had stayed in using Vrbo. The river and view from the porch were both peaceful and like listening to a recording of water over the rocks. Coffee on the porch was enjoyed each morning. The cabin was very comfortable and clean. We do plan to come back for fall and Christmas in the future. This was a wonderful get away with good roads and easy access.
We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at the cabin. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, dinners on the back porch listening to the river and doing absolutely nothing! (except what we wanted to do).
This was our fourth year here and we have no desire to look elsewhere. House is clean, all the amenities you need, and very peaceful. Already looking forward to next year. Five stars!
