About this property

Spacious Multi Family Mountain Home.

There is SNOW in the area!
This house sits on a hill in Pierpoint, one hour East of Porterville, California U.S.A. on highway 190. The road is winding for about 30 minutes past Springville. The elevation is 4,500 feet therefore it is recommended you drive in daylight if it's your first time visiting. The home is surrounded by redwoods and a spectacular view of Slate Mountain, elevation at 9,302 ft. Slate Mountain is part of the Great Divide in the Sequoia Narional Forest, great area for serious hikers.

You can find walking trails going East on highway 190. There are trails in Quaking Aspen Campground, and Ponderosa. Past Ponderosa there is a trail that takes you to Dome Rock which offers a beautiful sight of Needles Rock and the Western Divide. The Trail of the 100 Giants is about 46 minutes east of Ponderosa, there you find the amazing Giant Redwood Sequoias trees.

This mountain home also offers total relaxation. Sit, visit, play board games and relax in the large living room, dinning room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms ( 2-King, 1-Q, 5-Single), loft, 3 1/2 baths, propane barbecue, WiFi and Dish TV of this home.

This home is ideal for retreats, meetings, family gatherings, celebrations and romantic, quiet getaways. Great way to enjoy each other and what nature has to offer.

Fully furnished with accommodations for 12. Beds, sheets, pillows, bath and hand towels, dishes, clothes washer and dryer. We have a Keurig coffee maker and a regular coffee maker, blender, dishwasher, toilet paper and paper towels. It is like walking into your own home.

It is recommended that you visit Giant Sequoia Mercantile-Springville Visitor's Center in Springville for maps and information. Also fill up your gas tank and buy any food or supplies that you need before you leave Springville. Across the street from this home you will find the Pierpoint Lodge Restaurant. They have a bar and music on the weekend. Two miles East on highway 190 you can dine at Camp Nelson Lodge and find a small store.

Welcome to our home and we hope you and your family will relax and enjoy each other, gaze upon the thousand stars, and be amazed at the wonder of the mountains :)

Awesome house! Getting there was a little rough.

This house was perfect. Very open and plenty of sleeping spots. The views were beautiful. The only downside is the crazy curvy road you must take to get there. We had a few people in our party get car-sick. But once we arrived, we had a great time.

Great cabin home in the woods!

My extended family and I had a great stay in this cabin home! Loved eating out on the balcony and taking short walks down to the general store. And relaxing out in the balconies (plural!) at night and watching the many stars pop out! Beautiful area, close to Trail of 100 Giants (amazing!) and sweet swimming hole/river pools down at Lower Coffee Camp! So glad we found this place!

Excellent Sequoia vacation

We had such a great time! 2 families..4 kids ages 6-10 and 4 adults. The house is spacious and comfortable and we all slept comfortably. Kitchen is large and equipped with everything you need. There is a little market and restaurant right down the road that you can walk to as well. The views are amazing. We had breakfast and dinner on the balcony. We went to trail of 100 giants....about a 45 min drive. A bunch of fun watering holes to swim in are close by. We did a day trip to sequoia park which is about 2 hours drive. It was nice to come back to the quiet peaceful house though! The roads are slow with lots of turns so if anyone gets car sick bring medicine! We would definitely come stay here again!

Best location in the mountains

We had an amazing experience, and were so fortunate to have stayed during the snow fall. It became a perfect winter wonderland for the kids and adults. No need to drive out anywhere as the land surrounding the cabin was huge with plenty of areas for sleighing. Everything in the home was cozy, and orderly. Will definitely book again.

Cozy cabin in beautiful setting

We have rented this home for several years for an annual family gathering. It's a cozy cabin and a great place to stay whether it's warm or cold outside. The house provides ample space for 3 couples with an upstair loft area for kids to play in. The kitchen is well stocked and the owners are very responsive.

A quiet hideaway in the mountains!

The home is clean and stocked with the essentials. Everything in the house is handy to get to. There was plenty of space for a large group. The road to the house is scenic. The only negative thing would be the curvy road with no guardrails. Night time driving is not recommended. Dennis B.

Roomy, well-stocked cabin with mountain views

We had 10 guys stay here and almost everyone got their own bed. Kitchen is well-stocked with all the utensils, dishes, and pots you could need, plus a few basic necessities like oil and salt and pepper. There is both a charcoal and a gas grill, and there is also a TV with satellite as well as basic quality internet. All of the rooms have their own balconies overlooking the Tule River canyon with a relatively large main deck on the lower level. Reasonably close to high Sierra hikes including the Trail of 100 Giants. Fixtures and finishes are a bit dated (I'm guessing 1970s or 1980s) but who cares when you are up there to enjoy the Sierra. No cell service and no nearby stores so make sure you come prepared. 5/5 would recommend.

Great get away

We've been coming to this area for about 25 years now and have camped in tents, campers, and cabins and by far this was the best one. This time we were up there for my husbands 65th birthday. Very clean, open, and all the ammenenties of home. Loved the balconies at every door and the air conditioner kept us nice and cool. Loved, loved loved it. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We had a total of 18 family members staying all over the mountain from ponderosa to springville. So there was plenty of room for all the kids&grandkids to come over for dinner. Thanks again Ps also had an issue with the a/c unit emailed the owners and they had someone ASAP very impressed, it had just froze over

Fantastic place

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Robert and Arlina's cabin. The house was spacious and clean and met all of our needs. When we arrived the AC unit was not working, I called Robert and he had someone out to fix it the next day, even though it was 4th of July weekend. His prompt response was such a relief as the temperatures were in the 90's and 100's during our stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you could need, including a few spices. They had many games for adults as well as toys for children. The locations was great, we spent a couple days playing in the river, just a short way down the mountain. The only downside was how far up the mountain the cabin was. Which is normally not a problem, but with children that got carsick almost every time we had to come back up I'm not sure we would book here again. But the cabin itself and the owners were great. All in all, a fantastic vacation in a fantastic place!

Great family home near Pierpoint

When our family gathering over Memorial Day required more sleeping space than our parents' house could provide, we rented this house across the road from Pierpoint. It was comfortable and clean and exactly as described. The process for renting, checking in and checking out was straightforward and easy. Lots of thought and care has gone into furnishing the house; the kitchen was well appointed. The dollhouse upstairs, much to my granddaughter's delight, was such a fun surprise. I highly recommend this great mountain home.

This cabin has strengthen the family unit and has brought them closer to nature. They have also hosted school, Rotary, and church retreats. The Pierpoint Lodge has been useful with meals, dancing with live music, and information on events and sight seeing locations.

Why they chose this property

The beauty of this well built cabin is the large raised lot with 5 balconies. The unrestricted Slate Mountain view can be seen from any room of the house.
