Modern Lakefront Home w/optional Pontoon

This is a custom built home on the northeast side of Burt Lake. Located near the tip of Greenman's Point, you will have some of the most spectacular sunsets the lake has to offer. The 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home has an open floor plan featuring a large gourmet kitchen, perfect for family gatherings and entertaining. The windows surrounding the home make it feel as though you are sleeping on top of the water. Views of the lake can be seen from almost every room in the home.

Just 15 minutes from Burt Lake State Park, 30 minutes from Petoskey and 20 minutes from Mackinaw City. The house is located a few minutes from the North Central State Trail (“rail trail”), which is an excellent biking/hiking trail. Area ski hills are just a half an hour away.

The house sleeps sixteen in beds (However we only allow a max of 10 adults!) Both main floor bedrooms have privacy bathrooms. Upstairs bath is a three room bath, separating the toilet, shower, and main sink so all can be used at once. A fully equipped kitchen comes complete with all of the amenities needed for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner: gas range and oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and bean grinder, toaster oven, and an assortment of pots and pans. A gas grill is also available for your outdoor grilling. Utility room has front loading washer and dryer. Fire pit for your evening, lakeside fires. Satellite DIRECTV and WiFi. Water toys, life jackets (limited sizes), and water shoes available for guest use.

Personal watercraft of any kind may NOT be moored in the water or tied to the dock. All boats and PWC must be trailered in and out as needed. If you plan to bring your own boat, please be aware of this rule.

We have a 23’ PONTOON available for rent during your stay. Why rent a boat from someone else when you can have it waiting at your dock when you check into the house? No need to worry about the weather for rental dates because you'll have it all week! *The boat rental is only available for for the duration of your stay.

Perfect Summer Vacation
This house is great! Very clean and adequately stocked. It is spacious and set up perfectly for multiple families. My family enjoyed the pontoon, the kayaks, paddle boards and relaxing outside on the patio.

Great Time - Beautiful Location
This is a great place to stay! Our family had a wonderful time. It had plenty of room to accommodate our family and during meal times we could all be together. The only thing we missed was the dock still being in the water though I understand it is about to winter! I would definitely stay here again. Both the arrival and departure were extremely easy. Enjoyable Property
This property is well situated for a large gathering. Large kitchen, large dining room table, large couch, and multiple mattress types ensure every member of your party will likely sleep on a mattress that suits them best. The lake is beautiful, the property is quiet, and the location is optimal for exploring northern Michigan. We enjoyed our week long vacation very much.

A true gem in northern Michigan
We had a wonderful stay here. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and made sure everything was well stocked and ready to enjoy. It is comfortable and lovely. The boat is an amazing xtra that we would highly recommend. It is such a fun area with so much to do and the boating options are endless. Our week flew by! Our favorite Vrbo by far.

We had a great time at this spacious lake house. The lay-out worked perfectly for 4 families. We appreciated the large kitchen, ample counter space, and extra-long dining table. Kitchen was well-stocked. We enjoyed the dock, pontoon, kayaks, and fire pit. Neighborhood was nice for walks and quiet overall. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall excellent accommodations. There were eight adults and one two year old and no one ever felt crowded. Great fully stocked kitchen which is the most spacious we have ever seen. Great place to kick back and relax or take day trips to Mackinac or Petoskey. A definite repeat location!

Wonderful stay on Lake Burt
Great location! We had five adult couples enjoying the house, yard and dock for a long weekend. Everything we needed was available. Loved the card and board games indoors, as well as the paddle board out on the water. Fire pit was perfect and the patio/grill area makes a nice space to hang outdoors in nice weather. The beds were SO comfy. Checkin and communication were quick and easy.

Beautiful, well equipped and clean home - perfect for families!
This home is just perfect for families. It's spacious, beautifully appointed and has lots of supplies available (extra water shoes, 3 person water raft, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc.). It was exceptionally clean. We rented the pontoon which was so much fun! We all highly recommend!

Our annual fall family getaway at Burt’s Hideaway was awesome. Perfect size for our combined families. It can get noisy with our crew but the spacious house and yard allowed us to spread out. The house was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend this location. My only sadness is it seems to be totally booked for summer 2024. Thank you!

Perfection! Perfect location and home! Well stocked. Great furnishings. Even nicer than the pictures. Made day trips to Petoskey, Charlevoix, Mackinaw and Pictured Rock National Park. Chose to stay home one day just to enjoy the beautiful view of Burt Lake. Dining table so big we were able to play cards with seven people and still had room at the other end to keep a huge puzzle going. Made our trip!

Burt Lake - Incredible Week
Burts Hideaway was just awesome. Absolutely awesome home with all the appointments we needed for our group of 10. The pontoon boat, amazing dock and grassy area with picnic tables gave us space to play and spread out. And the huge dinner table allowed all TEN of us to eat together every night—That doesn’t happen often at home. Thanks to Jenna and Matt who are absolutely amazing hosts. Very responsive when contacted. Huge thank you to you both for letting us enjoy a week at your lake home. We are so excited to come again next year!

Simply Amazing! Dream home Cabin, Dream Home Setting.
The owners of this cabin really thought this out. The cabin is perfect for large families, and is nested deep inside some Cheboygan Forrest. Burt Lake (4 largest inland lake in Michigan) is beautiful. We were able to stargaze right from the backyard. The cabin is fully equipped (no joke) with everything you need. Kitchen (10/10) Bathrooms (10/10) Backyard (10/10) Rooms (10/10) I rarely give 5 stars, but this cabin deserves it.

Our best VRBO rental EVER!
Wow! This property and location were perfect! A spacious home located right on the shore of beautiful Burt Lake in Cheboygan, Michigan. The owners were generous with their time, guidance, and water sport equipment (paddle boards, kayaks, etc). We opted to rent their pontoon boat for the week, and it was the absolute highlight of our stay. Even without the boat, there is plenty to do and enjoy, or simply hang out in the hammock and read. We really enjoyed our evenings around the fire pit roasting smores . The home was spotlessly clean and very well stocked. It is perfect for an extended family gathering or several couples/friends vacationing together. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

We both grew up in Northern Michigan. Jenna was raised in Charlevoix, and Matt spent his summers in Lewiston. We currently live in the Ann Arbor area, but we knew we needed a place Up North to bring us back to our roots. We found the perfect setting on beautiful Burt Lake and we were able to build this house to accommodate all of the family and friends that we wanted to share it with. We love being a part of peoples life long memories!
