My family of 4 squeaked in between others that had reserved the property - Betsy and Jim were very accommodating. In retrospect, I wish I'd reserved our time sooner so that we would've had at least one more day in this lovely, newer property. I'd definitely recommend it.
The house was comfortable and clean but felt almost too big for the 4 of us (because it's considerably larger than our house). That said, our 2 kids really enjoyed having such private spaces and distance from us adult-types. It might be ideal for 3 couples or a larger/extended family.
Access to the beach front was steep, though well constructed. However, it's not much of a beach, so for those looking to spend a lot of time on the beach or with kids wanting to play on the beach, you might look elsewhere. The water is very visible from the side of the house facing it, and you can even hear the water lapping at the shore at night when all is quiet. The trees do obscure some of the view, but they also lend a feeling of privacy. We didn't mind them at all.
When a remote control didn't seem to work during the brief orientation tour, Betsy took it and they replaced the batteries (even though we didn't need it as we never turned on the TV with so much to do and enjoy on Orcas), calling to ask permission to enter the house and try out the new batteries. That was very considerate and respectful.
If we could change some things about the house, we'd have wished it didn't have the electric range and had, instead, more counter space for prep work (for such a large kitchen it sometimes felt cramped when cooking). Also, there was an extensive number of individual electric heaters rather than central heating. The gas fireplace was a little... persnickety in terms of getting it to work consistently but, when it was on, put out considerable light and heat. My kids also wished for a small, outdoor gas fireplace (sparks from wood = bad), while my wife wished that the house would've had salt and pepper stocked. NONE of these would keep us from staying a second time!
Moran State Park was a very easy 10 or so minute drive and that we did regularly in order to visit Cascade Lake, Mountain Lake and Mount Constitution. Hiking, renting a row boat, laying by the lake or eating ice cream there was all great fun. Not really an area for family biking with young ones, however, due to the terrain and 2-lane roads. Also, watch for small deer - they were everywhere, especially near dawn and dusk.
