Wonderful place and amazing views!

We stayed for 5 weeks in this wonderful cabin! The cabin was very spacious for 2 adults and our 2 dogs. I honestly could not tell that dogs had stayed there before. It was super clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked, had everything to make your own meals, and a nice grill on the patio. It had cable and wifi, so we could work remotely from the cabin. The views from the back patio are amazing. Lots of roads to walk the dogs, we did find some trails around the area to walk. Closest town is Buena Vista, which is where we went to get groceries and check out some restaurants/bars. There were also some nice trails in BV to walk the dogs. Takes about 25-30 minutes to BV and Breckenridge is about an hour away. We explored some of the surrounding areas too, Leadville, Salida, Guffey, and Red Cliff. Did a few snow mobile trips while we were there, had a really great time. Cabin is on a dirt road, which is noted in the listing so that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, it also snowed while we were there. Once the snow stopped they plowed the roads, so it was pretty easy to get in and out with no issues. Lots to do if you are willing to venture out. If you get a chance to stay here, don't pass it up, it is a great place and Terence is a super great host!

Very secluded

If you’re looking for a secluded location then this is it. Nearest grocery store is 35 minutes away. Cabin is a 10 minute drive down a gravel road off the main road. While relaxing on the couch one night I was visited by a mouse, handyman came the next day to put traps.

Hartsel Week

We came to Ranch of the Rockies (where the home is located) to look at land and possibly purchase a few acres. The home is very nice and and the cabin was excellent for our purposes. Owner is very nice and accommodating. We would stay at his home in the future.

Amazing Location, Amazing Views

Wow, this small cabin was perfect for my wife and I. We were blown away by the views and location of this log cabin. We enjoyed walking around the property and playing horseshoes just below the deck where they have built horseshoe pits in the woods. We also enjoyed taking walks along the dirt roads around the property. It took us a few days to acclimate to the elevation which is 9400 feet. We did a 6 mile hike in the San Isabel National Forrest on the Browns Creek Trail. It is just under an hour drive to trailhead. We also enjoyed the town of BV. It’s about a 20 minute drive into town and they have shopping and restaurants along Main Street. At the end of Main Street is a recreational area that has something for everyone. You can go for a walk by the Ark River, go kayaking, rafting, biking or just hike the trails just across the walking bridge . We ate lunch at Simple Eatery and Eddyline Restaurant. Very good ! The weather changes every few hours. Sun in mornings and rain in afternoons, then sun again before nightfall. You will see amazing sunsets over the snow-packed mountain tops . The dry, cool, crisp mountain air is great! The stars are so bright at night, feels like your close to Heaven at 9400 feet. We loved the cabin and location , very peaceful and quite.

The cabin felt very remote and private.

We booked this cabin the week of July fourth to get away from the city to relax. So glad we did. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We took day trips to Salida and Buena Vista. The cabin was just the right size and the deck had amazing views. We could watch the deer walk through the property. Hopefully will be able to get back there in early winter. Beautiful country to explore. Thank you for sharing your getaway.

Very much enjoyed our time at this sweet cabin. Close enough to Buena Vista to go in for dinner and a hike along the Arkansas, but far enough away to feel peaceful!

Great getaway cabin for all

Great little cabin away from Denver. Gorgeous fews. We arrived before the snow arrived the next day Just a beautiful place. Loved the secludness but also visited Salida, Buena Vista and Mt Prince hot springs only 30 min away. The drive in from the main paved road isn't too bad( gravel road) as we got to see wildlife ....deer and elk as we enjoyed the views. Can't wait to visit in summer or fall. Great for just about anyone. Families, singles or a romantic get away.

Great property, secluded location

My Dad and I really enjoyed our stay at Terence's cabin in the woods. Everything is as described in the property details. The cabin was warm, functional and homey. Terence was attentive and responsive during our stay - anything we needed was a phone call away. Wifi works great. 5 stars all around.

Amazing place and location

The cabin was clean and comfortable. I stayed in this cabin for almost 3 weeks in August 2015. Great views, very private and good location. Manager made it very easy to access and was extremely responsive to questions. Couldn't have asked for a more. Will definitely come back.

Quiet cabin with a great view!

We really enjoyed our stay at Terence's cabin! It is so amazingly quiet and peaceful, which is just what we were looking for. The deck was our favorite feature! There is a picnic table a hammock and a grill (which we used every night) on the deck. The first evening we were eating on the picnic table and a doe came walking through! Our daughter was super excited to see it so close. There must be a family of deer that live right in the area because we would see them every time we came back to the cabin. While we were there we went to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, drove up to St. Elmo to feed chipmunks, went horse back riding, hiking, etc. It was a very fun filled yet, relaxing vacation. Colorado Springs is a little over an hour drive, Buena Vista is about 20 min. It was nice to be secluded, yet not too far away from any kind of activity you would want to do. Terence was a very nice host, communication was quick and pleasant. We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic! it was everything they said it was and more!

We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room. It had everything we needed from laundry to Wifi! Beautiful surroundings and wildlife. It was exactly what we were looking for, it was far enough away to get that "get away from it all" feeling while still being not too far from the other activities we wanted to do. Owner was awesome to work with as well!

Quiet and relaxing

The cabin was exactly as described. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. I loved sitting on the back deck eating and reading. It was amazing how quiet it is there! No sounds from the city: cars, people, planes - nothing! It was wonderful! Terence was very helpful and always responded quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

We are a family that lives in Edwards, Colorado. My two boys grew up enjoying this awesome log cabin and exploring the wonders that abound in every direction. We love to spend time outdoors exploring Colorado and enjoying this amazing climate hiking, fishing, rafting, festivals, hot springs, skiing /snowboarding and so much more that this area has to offer. We love the comforts of the cabin combined with the incredible powers of nature that are always evident in this very special place. Perfect for a family or even an artist, author or anyone who wants to work / play / relax in a peaceful mountain setting with the comforts of a cozy, charming log cabin. It's like camping without the tent! We have many wonderful memories of our beloved cabin and we hope you will feel the same.

Why they chose this property

This is a wonderful getaway from the stresses of modern life. Wildlife abounds - yet you will sleep safely in the comfort of the cabin. The convenient location in the heart of Colorado provides access to numerous recreational opportunities and you will still feel as though you are camping in the remote mountains. The high speed internet is super convenient. The location is awesome - remote and peaceful yet close to town and amenities such as restaurants and grocery (20 minutes to BV - 10 minutes to the quaint little town of Hartsel). The cabin was custom built and boasts wood and stone floors, granite counters, stainless appliances, comfortable furnishings, washer dryer and jacuzzi bathtub!

What makes this property unique

This property is unique because the cabin feels rustic, warm and cozy yet it is light, bright and clean. There are spectacular views from every window - through the trees to the mountains all around. The cabin is perched on the knoll - one experiences the wonder of the majestic mountain ranges at the same time as the warmth of the cabin situated safely within the trees. Perfect for the person who wants nature, serenity along with the comforts of a custom built log cabin with high speed internet.
