About this property

Amazing Views 3 Br 2.5 Bath Home Overlooking The 18th Hole

Maggie Valley Country Club home featuring 3 Br 2.5 baths. Magnificent views. Overlooking the 18th hole of the beautiful Maggie Valley Country Club. Modern granite kitchen with all the amenities. Wrap around deck with wood rocking chairs. Central A/C and Heat and wood burning fireplace. Full high speed internet throughout the home. Enjoy the scenic mountains, the changing of the leaves, winter skiing, and summer white water rafting just to name a few of the great activities available close by. Only 2 miles away from the entrance to the Cataloochie Ski area and resort. Adjacent (Independent) Country club has full health and fitness facilities, Swimming Pool, Tennis and Hot Tub and Golf Course activities available at additional daily charge. If you would like to use the country club amenities during your stay, they are available at a rate of $19.95 extra per day for your entire family. Includes use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, 25 percent discounted green fees, and a 15 percent discount in the Clubhouse restaurants. Reservation rates quoted here do not include this fee, so if you would like to use the Country Club facilities, you can book and pay for those after booking the rental. Note as with all the other homes in this area, our home is nestled in the smokey mountains surrounded by mountainous terrain and gravel road switchbacks. When visiting this area, you should be a person who is comfortable driving in such environments. The home, as you can see from the pictures, is not on flat lands and has a long steep narrow imperfect mixed gravel and paved driveway down to the home which of course, adds to its charm. There is parking at the top of the drive as well. The home is properly maintained, and we allow pets. While we do our best to keep the home in good condition and have a maintenance company that cleans the home, we also live at the home from time to time so expect the interior areas, including carpeted areas, to look and be like any other home where the owners live and from time to time also choose to rent out to others so expect there will be normal wear and tear. Our home is NOT a 5 star hotel. But it is a wonderful and very affordable place to spend a relaxing week or weekend with wonderful views and peaceful and relaxing sounds of nature. It is mostly wood floors throughout the house and in all the common areas. Berber carpeting in the bedrooms and stairwells. The photos of the property accurately reflect how the home interior looks. So please review the photos. Thank you.

Birthday bust
Pros: Owner was very pleasant and responsive to questions. View was pretty. Property was in quiet location. Fridge was clean. Cons: 3 of 5 beds were unusable. Film of ick over everything inside. Had to wash all dishes, pots, and utensils before using. Potholes in driveway so bad it popped the tire on my SUV.

This was a great trip. The house was super nice and the garage was a definite plus. We had motorcycles and cars to secure so loved it! The driveway IS a challenge but we are in the mountains after all and you will have the views to prove it.

Beautiful View
This place is nice. I had my elderly parents with me and the steep stairs were an issue for them. Like the other reviews state, the driveway is very steep and is in need of repair in some spots. The roads are steep and narrow; I had to do a two-point turn in my truck to get to the connecting road to the driveway. It rained a lot during our stay and it made it more difficult to get out of the driveway (and the leaves didn't help). The owner was very responsive to my questions. It has an amazing view of the mountains.

Beautiful house with a lot of stairs!
We had a great weekend and worked some muscles we didn't know we had. House was beautiful. Very tastefully decorated. Homeowner was great about communicating with us when the power went out the first night of our visit. The driveway was steep but we knew that going in. Would rent again!

Very clean however the amenities we wanted were not available.
Over all it was a nice location and very clean house. We booked this property because of the amenities and they were not available! We were disappointed because we would have stayed closer to Cherokee, NC had we known otherwise. It was a very cozy nice home otherwise.

Great place for family Thanksgiving
There was a nicely stocked kitchen and a large dining table to host my brother and his roommate for a Thanksgiving dinner and a game of monopoly. He lives in the area but didn’t have room for our family of 6 . The place is very nice and comfortable inside. The driveway is tough, I won’t lie. We were ok with my husband’s 4 wheel drive SUV but we left my daughters’ car at my brother’s place since it’s a little Ford Focus with just front wheel drive We left a lot of paper towel and a package of trash bags for the next guests . Happy Thanksgiving!

Pretty Area
It was a nice property. The only thing I would suggest is to make travelers aware of the road leading to the property. It is listed in the information once the reservation is made but I think it needs to be disclosed when travelers are first looking at the property. It is very steep and winding road to the driveway. And then the driveway is straight down. I grew up in Gatlinburg, so I am use to these type roads. But, for example, if we had hauled our small trailer to the property, we may have ended up in a "pickle". We would rent this place again. But, I just feel they need to let people know about the road and driveway before a reservation is made.

Vacation review
The house was very nice. There is only a couple things I would say negative about it. First is the drive way description should be listed in the rental site. It is sketchy at best and you will need a 4wd to use it or you will park up top and walk down. It's a hard walk back and forth. My mother could barely make it. Had I known this up front I would have booked another place. We also had trouble out of the lady above our place about Parking up top. First she said no way then she let us then she made us move again. So long story short. Great house. Terrible drive way. The only other thing was the outside seating. The only 3 chairs outside were all Broken. Owner said he had some shipped to the home but they never did arrive while we were there. Overall a very nice place.

No Fireworks or 18th Here
You cannot see the 18th or any part of the golf course..Very bad driveway, car slid off driveway, scared the whole family, almost went off ledge, had to call tow truck to get us out.. NOT because the driveway is just steep, but it has been eroded away and is grass, gravel, and mud. Lost power one of our days, terrible.. House is OK, but needs updating and a DEEP clean, there was black dog hair all over the carpets. I hate to give a review like this, but I am being more than fair. Wish I could post actual pictures.

We enjoyed our stay although the property was not clean . The floors had trash, leaves, etc . Clearly needed vacuuming. The beds looked like sheets had not been changed . Dry was full of laundry . Smoke detector was missing from ceiling, wires hanging from ceiling where smoke detector should be .

Needs some work
Pros: open family living space. Nice kitchen dining area. Cons: very scary driveway which causes tense & anxious moments, Despite the reviews in which owner said work would be done. Many many leaves, cobwebs & dirty siding. My husband swept as many of leaves as he could to enjoy balcony. Needs a little pressure washing & cleaning on exterior. Also, bring your own pillows. Would be nice to have basic cable TV to watch sports or news esp during Thanksgiving. Without these corrections, will not rent this prop again, although we enjoy the area.

Great location, great cabin
Had a great time staying here and really enjoyed the location. Loved the cabin! Overall this was a great cabin and location to stay. Only minor issue was that there were still a lot of weeds on the property and leafs in the carport and downstairs entry door Also there were a lot cob webs and debris on the balcony but nothing a broom couldn't handle. =) Thanks for letting us stay here.

Lovely house, but wrecked driveway
The house itself was lovely, but the private grounds could use some cleanup in terms of weeds, etc. But, WRECKED is the private driveway leading down to the house entrance. It's in extreme disrepair (and not because it is steep). There are big gaping holes, missing gravel, and it is totally uneven (as compared to other private driveways there). Our car's bottom scraped against the driveway (with only one person in it) due to the driveway's condition. I've love to stay here again, but would do so only if the driveway has been replaced/repaired.

Lovely, quiet, and comfy
The view is fantastic. Took our family of 4 here for a few days in June of 2017. The weather was perfect. We visited the Cherokee Indian reservation and the trip there was breathtaking. We saw waterfalls tucked into the mountains. We got out to see Lake Junalaska for swimming - for just $25 a family. The home does not have a pool or a hot tub. We did not opt for it, but for $650 for a family of 5 we could have purchased day passes to use the very nice resort close by. We enjoyed the board games and various books throughout the home. The master bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We cooked in he kitchen and had all of the necessities. The Keurig was a site for sore eyes after our long trek to get here. It was nice to be able to keep up with our laundry while away from home. The driveway might be scary for some with sport cars, etc. but according to the pizza delivery guy our driveway was a piece of cake. The owners were great communicators and the stay here was stress free. Thank you!

We wouldn't stay here again
The driveway is long, incredibly steep and in desparate need of repair. We ultimately needed to park at the top of the driveway and walk down because we didn't want to damage our car. The house itself is very nice with a great view. Unfortunately the outside furniture was limited, old, and filthy. The inside of the house is spacious and accommodated our family well.

Good location in Maggie Valley
We rented this property for extra space needed for a family reunion in Maggie Valley. Property is centrally located just off of Soco Rd at the Maggie Valley Country Club. Home is spacious, laid out well with plenty of room for a crowd (we only slept 5 adults but 8 or more could sleep here). The kitchen/dining area is ideal for cooking/feeding a crowd. Includes washer/dryer, internet access, and two flatscreen tvs hooked up to Direct TV Basic package. Steep driveway is a challenge and typical of access in the Smokies. 2 Staircases inside may limit access to main level and bedrooms at top level. We dined nearby at Frankies, where we've dined on several occassions since they opened 2+ years ago. Recommend Maggie Valley CC still serving famous Prime Rib, but we did not visit this trip. The owner was very helpful ironing out an online payment snafu and providing accurate directions/instructions.
