Our overall experience was unique and fostered family time in a fantastic, spacious home. The cottage was a unique private getaway on the property alongside the house, providing additional private space for a family or couple during the reunion. We were most excited to see a young bobcat family cross the backyard into the woods with three babies and their mother. The best part was that the bobcat family was herded away from home by a couple of domestic cats. We watched this from the living room together as a family. The views were amazing from all angles, and the home was immaculate upon arrival. We would return or recommend it to other families.
We really enjoyed our experience at the Lazy Bear Lodge and cottage. Perfect for our multi age family- from age 7 months to 85! Good jumping off point for Yosemite and Bass Lake. Accurate description online.
Clean inside, and spacious. It had everything we needed. We look forward to returning. My only minor complaint is that the next-door neighbors were a little nosy.
This property was perfect for 2 families. Location was quiet with no neighbors to the back of the property and sweeping views of the mountains. The main house and guest house being next to each other with double the refrigerator space and cooking areas was very helpful. 5-10 minute drive to Bass Lake and the boat rental areas made it so easy to do day outings. Beds were very comfy. My only suggestion is better lighting in the living rooms of the houses.

Great Family Reunion
We’ve been traveling up to bass lake for many years, and stay at a new house each year. I think we found our forever house this year! We loved Lazy Bear Lodge! It fit our family from infant to senior. Can’t wait for our trip next spring!

Clean, cozy, convenient, perfect Yosemite getaway
We had a lovely time in this beautiful home away from home! It comfortably fit our group, was perfectly clean and cozy and well equipped with all the necessities. And cleanup was a breeze, which meant we had the extra few hours to enjoy each other's company on the last day.

An awesome place for a big group
We've spent there two night - 3 families (4,5,6) - there was a place for everyone, the place was clean and inviting. the kitchen was well stocked - it has everything you need , and enough for a big group of people.
Grocery store is 15 min drive. Bass lake is 5 min drive, and the Yosemite entrance is 45 min drive - perfect location.
We did BBQ at evening and the kids enjoyed playing with the sand bags outside.
We would love to come back again - we really enjoyed it!

Nice place
Our family of 14 stayed here for a week, driving into Yosemite most days. The furniture and linens were like-new. The kitchens were well-appointed. We were especially pleased to find storage containers, beverage pitchers, blenders, and cookie sheets. We brought some of our kitchen items from home that are suited to a very large family, and didn't really use them, except the knife sharpener and crock pot. We brought all of our food in, and found two refridgerators quite helpful. We ate our dinners on the patio with plenty of seating. Having two units turned out nicely because most of the activity happened in the lodge while the cottage was more of a retreat. We spent hours playing the Corn Hole game in the back yard, and played all the board games. Deer meandered around the property on the first day like stray cats, but we didn't see them after that. The views were peaceful and relaxing, especially at sunset. A hot tub and a hammock would be welcome additions, as would clocks in the bedrooms. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed the place. Great value.
If you expect a Taj Mahal, you probably won’t get it. But if you want to have a nice, clean, comfortable and newly remodeled large house, you’ve got it. It’s a bit hard to tell from the posted pictures that the house actually turned out to be rather well maintained and was quite a pleasant surprise. The bedrooms are comfy with good linens, the furnishings are decently newer, the bathrooms are clean, the dining and family rooms are cozy, the kitchen is very much operable and well stocked with various kitchen utensils. Tea and coffee with sugar and cream are a pleasant bonus. The property is actually a two dwelling unit, with a 3br/2ba main structure plus a large full size 1br/1ba separate unit which could easily accommodate 6-8 adults. The backyard is quite large with view of the mountain range. It has 2 large wood tables, benches and BBQ facilities, good for the winter and summer alike.
We enjoyed the place which is also not too far from Yosemite Park where we visited daily. Communication with the manager/owner was effective and pleasant. We would very much likely come back and stay here the next time. Great value. D&H Ho

Engagement Celebration
Had a great time at the Lazy Bear Lodge. Our son proposed at Tuolumne Meadows at sunrise and the surprise dinner back at the Lodge with family was perfect. Wonderful home and amenities. Well equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ for dining in. The beds were very comfortable (out kids took pictures of the pillow tags to buy them). Everyone commented on the homey mountain cabin feel. Three deer visited on our last morning. The owners are very responsive to questions and concerns. We recommend the Southgate Brewing Company in Oakhurst for dining. Highly recommended and we plan on staying again.
