Very nice cottage, good contact with the owner
We had a wonderfull time in this cottage, which is a good base camp for visiting de Beacon Hills and Gower. The bed were very good, the kitchen is provided with a lot of usefull things. Realy nothing is missing! We had - by email - good contact with the owner, which makes it a pleasant stay. Thank you so much.

Lothlorien Cottage
Lovely cottage but on a noisy road. Beautiful garden. Everything we needed including food essentials on arrival. Bonus to be able to park off road at the end of the garden. What puts us off staying again however was the bedding. Did not smell clean and fresh, pillows old, flat and stained, duvets the same. No smell of fresh laundry. We bought some pillows at Tesco on the first day as we didn't want to use those supplied.

Beautiful cottage but needs renewals
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Well equipped, close to supermarkets, nice neighbours and a big garden. Bring slippers, otherwise the floor in the kitchen is pretty cold. Housekeeper Caron arranged a lovely welcome basket with Welsh products. But the house needs some renewals in future. Anyway, thanks Beverley for the stay.

We had a lovely stay, central to a number of places we visited from Barry Island to Burry Port, Cardiff to Rhossili. Everything was clean and tidy and surprisingly quiet and despite going in March had mostly dry days.

Good Location
Good location, but the cottage was far too cluttered for our liking, so this make it hard for the cottage to be really clean. Time for an update I think - double bed frame very creaky. Bedding & towels clean and kitchen had everything we needed. We had a nice stay visiting lots of places including our friends.

Cosy cottage
The experience of renting the cottage was easy. The cottage itself was warm, cosy with everything you needed. The garden was a good size but not secure so your dogs could get out, also the edges needed cutting back to allow you to walk on the path. Apart from these couple of things we really enjoyed out stay and would certainly return.

Cosy cottage!
This was a great location for our holiday. Lots of places to see. Cottage was ‘oldie worldie’ and had character. All facilities were good. Bath is lovely. Double bed had a soft mattress so didn’t sleep great. I’m used to a firm mattress. Personal preference really. Welcome pack was great. There is a long garden at the back which was our little doggy loved running around in. Only thing missing is a dishwasher.

Excellent location to access the Welsh countryside and coastline. Really nice, long garden. Suitable for families, though the living room is very compact. Ideal for a family of 5, a bit over crowded for 6. Fully stocked for self catering, though missing a few utensils/dishes here and there. A larger fridge-freezer, more updated games and DVDs would have helped. Overall, we enjoyed our stay though a few minor tweaks would have made it 10/10.

A Perfect Oasis, Perfect Cottage, Lovely Garden and Brilliant Caretaker to help with everything!
I was so very blessed with this lovely property. I needed a two week stay and am a cook and an avid lover of the garden so all my needs were met in Lothlorien cottage. The cottage is beautifully appointed with everything anyone could possibly need. I was very comfortable here and was given so much help and support by Caron, the property caretaker as well as brilliant communication from Beverley the owner. The bed I slept in was so comfy with gorgeous linens and a variety of pillows which I loved. I love to cook and the kitchen was equipped as well as my own, everything I could possibly have needed, great internet, TV, a garden with a barbeque, wonderfully cozy with great heat and the bath! Oh I loved that bath. On demand hot water, lovely towels, so many special extras like sweets and info on the local area...did I mention that Caron, the caretaker was an absolute angel? I so enjoyed the cottage garden and the fact that wonderful local walks are available from out the back garden. I can't believe I found such a perfect place. I am already looking forward to my next visit back to the charming Lothlorien Cottage. I felt like I was home and it was one of my favourite VRBO or Airbnb stays ever. Thank you so very much for providing this gem of a place.

Cottage stay
Both Caron and Beverly was lovely. Beverly kept in contact throughout our stay. Caron was very thoughtful and and bought a few things in like bread, cheese, wine and toilet rolls encase we hadn't had a chance to go to the shops, the cupboards was also stocked with essentials, kitchen roll and cleaning products was available. The garden is beautiful and my dog thoroughly enjoyed running around in it. The beds was really comfortable and soft my mother had a little problem with the bed but that's cause she's used to sleeping in an adjustable bed as She can't sleep flat. My son and his friend enjoyed playing hide and seek and using the WiFi and going to the nearby shop. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you Beverly and Caron.

Knus en gezellig huisje op een centrale lokatie
Fijn verblijf gehad. Vanaf deze plek hebben we een groot deel van Wales gezien. Zowel Cardiff als de westkust zijn binnen een uurtje te berijden. Plaatselijke bar/grill the Mount is een aanrader!

Nice base for a stay in southern Wales
We really enjoyed our stay at Lothlorien Cottage. It is a small house, suited for up to five persons. Everyting was clean and we found everyting we needed. The house and especially the kitchen was good equipped. We stayed with a toddler and were offered a cot and a high chair. The stairs are quite steep, but our two-year-old loved climbing them up and down. The cottage is situated nicely at the foot of Brecon Beacon Nationalpark. You need a car for getting anywhere, but you can easily reach the beach, hiking trails or Swansea. We only missed a public playground nearby, which is not a fault of the house and the big backgarden compensated somewhat. Special thanks go to Caron and Beverley who welcomed us warmly and were always caring.

Delightful. Well equipped and lots of extra thoughtful touches. Comfortable, warm, welcoming, clean. Great welcome pack. Delightful garden. Convenient location. Helpful owners. The only slight drawback is a fairly busy road at the front of the property. However the front is secured by a wall and a gate so is dog and child safe.

My name is Beverley and I am the owner of Lothlorien Cottage.
I am very happy to answer any questions you may have about my cottage and
the local area.
I was born in Scotland but my Grandfather was Welsh and so Wales has always
held warm associations for me.
I chose this house in this location because I wanted somewhere serene and peaceful
with huge skies and a feeling of space.
I work in London and so I treasure the simple pleasures amongst the wild birds and plants and the rugged beauty of Wales.
I adore the natural world and so it is a delight to watch the wild life in the garden and the changing face of the hillsides.
I have a very good friend Caron who lives in the village and she takes care of my cottage and my guests. Her son Callum takes care of my garden and my windowboxes and also my guests.
It is very important to me that my guests fully enjoy my home as their home.
A house can never have too many happy memories

Why they chose this property

I bought this cottage because my beloved grandfather was from this region and I wanted to gaze at the hills and mountains from my window and be amongst them. There is an old world charm about the way people interract here and I like to be not too far from the sea.I always wanted a house with walls which were so deep i could have window seats

What makes this property unique

It lies on the crossroads of four areas of outstanding natural beauty,The Brecon Beacons,The Gower,The Vale of Neath and Camarthenshire.
Guests can expect to spend their holiday in a luxuriously comfortable home with
everything they need, an ideal base from which to explore the spectacular scenery

history of the past.

Whilst the Vale of Neath offers the glorious Afan Forest and its Waterfalls.
There is so much to see that , as we say in Wales, we keep a welcome in the hills
awaiting your return.
