About this property

Meursault, Burgundy - luxury renovated barn overlooking vines - ‘Le Clos’

A luxury renovation in a stone vigneron's barn, with secure extensive parking, amazing views and stunning outside space to sip a glass (or two) of wine, cook great meals, and relax in the hot tub gazing at the vines, and only two minutes from the village square.

Le Clos: this is the middle property, slightly smaller than Les Vignes (property reference 436391), and perfect for 4 people. The living area is upstairs, with an open plan living and kitchen benefiting from a huge a frame window that looks directly onto the hills.

Living: very large l-shaped sofa to sit 4/5, window seat to perch on, hd television and all you need to relax.

Kitchen: down a small level from the living room, the kitchen is fully equipt with all you could need, including a smeg fridge and range cooker, plus dining table for 4.

Washing machine, tumble dryer etc are stored in the cupboards in the entry hall, which has plenty of space for coats, shoes and shopping baskets.

Sleeping and bathing: upstairs there is a large bedroom with 6ft bed that can be unzipped to make two singles, with a large en suite bathroom benefiting from a super large shower.

The main bedroom is on the ground floor and is something really special. It has a fitted wardrobes tucked under a beam, a beautiful traditional wooden and upholstered 6ft bed, and an amazing bathroom through an open oak frame with two basins, separate toilet, large walk in shower and free standing bath. Quite the honeymoon suite!

Both rooms have plenty of space for a baby travel cot.

Outside: the garden area is shared by the two houses but is extremely large, especially for the heart of wine village! A top of the range hot tub is on a decking area, there is a luxury rattan sofa/table combination, sunbeds, parasols, and separate large areas with their own large dining tables and bbqs. The views over the vineyards and hills are beautiful day or night - the garden is gently lit at night.

Access to the garden is down a very short flight of steps accessible to both properties - please be aware therefore that this is not a suitable property for disabled guests.

Parking: The large enclosed courtyard has easy access and plenty of parking for several vehicles.

Both houses have the following facilities:
Pumped showers
High quality linen, towels and spa towels
Slippers provided

Wonderful Time in the French Countryside
My wife, two daughters, and I had a lovely stay. The house offered picturesque views at morning and at night, and an excellent hub to explore Beaune, Pommard, Dijon, and of course Meursault. Having on premises parking was a definite plus. The house itself was thoughtfully arranged, anticipating both our needs and wants. Laundry and a kitchen were great for traveling as a family. The garden and jacuzzi were wonderful for relaxing after a long day. We loved our time in Meursault and highly recommend this home for other itinerant wine tasters!

Incredible Experience
My wife and I agree this was the best rental we've experienced. Susan and Andy, the hosts, are wonderful and helpful. The property is just a few minutes walk from the middle of Mersault, and it's interior is comfortable and tasteful (with incredible views). We will definitely be back!

Magical stay in Meursault
Kind, gracious, and communicative hosts – check! A living space that far exceeds the quality portrayed in the pictures – check! A quiet space to use as your home base for Burgundian adventures – check! We highly recommend this property. It is lovely and was perfect for us as a couple. It was quiet, luxurious, warm, and inviting. Outstanding communication from our host which we did via WhatsApp. Susan was always available to answer a question or assist us – better than a five-star hotel! Fantastic directions for everything and a wonderful guide is provided, including dinner recommendations, shopping, and things to do. Susan and her husband have created a space that thinks of everything – from whatever type of coffee you can imagine (French Press, Drip, or Espresso), to a Bluetooth speaker for music, and luxurious linens. In addition, there was wine and some snacks, along with juice and milk. Susan was remarkably thoughtful and reached out to me prior to our arrival to let me know the first day of our stay was a holiday and most things would be shut. When I asked her if there was a service I could hire to pick us up a bit of food, she offered to do it for us. We would not hesitate to return.

A beautiful stay in Meursault
Susan’s place was wonderfully located, clean, comfortable, well-equipped and quite perfect for our group of four adults (two couples) staying in Burgundy for four nights. Everything was exactly as promised and expected, and Susan and Andy were even kind enough to greet us personally when we arrived and to make sure we were well-informed about nearby dining, supplies and activity options. We had one small issue with the downstairs bath’s hot water cutting off mid-stay, but a quick note to Susan and she reset it so everything was back to normal in a jiffy. All the way around, Meursault as a village and Susan’s place for lodging are not to be missed!

Beautiful House in Center of Meursault
Really lovely, renovated, 2-story loft-like house. Really nice well-equipped kitchen (we cooked in several nights). Our host Susan was extremely resposive, and really went the extra distance to make our stay special. Definitely recommended!

Lovely stay at Village of Meursault
Lovely and comfortable gite, on walking distance of the townsquare of Meursault. Very complete kitchen and two big rooms an bathrooms. Nice terrace with lovely view over winefields. Everything available at walking distance, bakery, supermarket, butcher, coffee, bar and a lot of restaurants to choose from. One tiny comment: I would love to have a terrace direct near the house, for that quick coffee in the morningsun.

A fabulously well equipped beautifully converted stone and old timber barn - wonderfully comfortable beds with high thread-count bed linen on super-king size bed. Huge and luxurious bathrooms. Kitchen kitted our with SMEG appliances and perfectly sharp cooks knives and all the other essentials such as oyster knives!. Great location. Great hosts, nothing too much trouble - many thanks for the treat of a local white that we couldn’t source ourselves!

Utterly wonderful
What a fabulous spot! Everything is better than the photos on the website, spotlessly clean with top quality kitchen equipment and appliances. The owners are lovely, helpful and available to assist with anything. Proximity to the centre of Meursault with it’s restaurants and shops could not be better, just a three minute walk. We want to return.

5 Minutes to Fall in Love
It takes 5 minutes to fall in love with Meursault. It takes 2 minutes to fall in love with Le Clos. It takes 15 seconds to fall in love with what Susan and Andy, the hosts of Le Clos have created. Whatever your expectations are for a property rental), multiply them by tenfold and you’ll be close to the accommodations at Le Clos. The property is stunning. The house is immaculate and spacious; the gardens are beautiful and the surrounding village and the setting are gorgeous. My wife booked this stay — telling me that the house was “steps from the village”. I assumed that “steps from” was jargon for “within walking distance”. I was wrong. Le Clos is literally IN THE VILLAGE OF MEURSAULT. So, the setting at Le Clos and the house are 5-star (as the other reviews attest). But there’s more…the accommodations INSIDE the home are just as amazing. Everything has been considered — and provided. Even with no preparation, our stay was perfect by simply following the host’s recommendations for where to visit and eat. So, my summary review? Book Le Clos for your next getaway. You won’t be sorry. I have only one ask: wait a few minutes before you book — I’m already booking our next stay and don’t want to find that it’s unavailable!

Another wonderful stay!
This was our second visit to Susan and Andy’s beautiful apartment. They are the consummate hosts. The property is comfortable, totally equipped and the washer and dryer wonderful additions. The two bathrooms have super showers and lots of hot water, a must with 4 people staying! Meursault has really grown since we visited 6 years ago and it is an easy walk to the restaurants in the evening. We look forward to another visit, hopefully sooner than 6 years! Thank you both again for a happy visit.

Sssh! Don't tell anyone else...
This is between you and me. O boy! This property lived up to its billing and then some. If you want quaint and up to date then this is the place for you. It is a converted wine barn made of limestone blocks with interior finishings of stone, wood and glass. It is traditional and contemporary with oodles of style. There is also stacks of room for two couples to share this house, which makes it super economical given the high value finish of the accommodation. I shall return, just to have the place all to myself.

Following years of studying, working and traveling in France, we are complete Francophiles hoping to retire to Burgundy in the future. Our daughters both love France too, and although still at school and university, spend as much time as possible working with us to ensure that the rentals at Rue Montmeix are everything you could want. Sometimes we will be there to welcome guests, but on the occasions we are not, we have a wonderful local manager to look after you. The most enjoyable thing is sharing recommendations of wine and food between our guests and recommending local attractions.

Why they chose this property

After years of wanting to buy a second home in France, we had decided on the wine villages of Burgundy as our favorite location. We wanted to be in one of the prime villages of the area, with easy access to beautiful Beaune. Unable to find property to rent of the quality we required over the years, we were thrilled to find the house through a local firm of property designers and builders - although needing total renovation we fell in love with the charm and peace of numéro 6 immediately, totally won over by the stone, woodwork and fabulously peaceful views.

What makes this property unique

Rue Montmeix is truly our piece of paradise, which we love sharing! Uniquely positioned only 150 metres from the village square and all its amenities (Baker, great butcher, small supermarket, deli, florist, Tabac, 9 restaurants and 50+ vignerons!), the two houses that we rent out have been newly renovated from the beautiful stone winemaker's barn that our house is part of. The houses are calm and quiet, light and cool in summer, and warm and cosy in the winter, with some amazing stone walls and a beautiful oak frame, all carefully renovated by local master craftsmen. They face south, with a small vineyard in front, a recently reclaimed one planted to the right, and views up to the vine-covered hills.

The outside space is huge, especially for a wine village - each house has its own parking space, lots of privacy and its own outside bbq and eating area. In addition, the two rentals share a luxurious decked area and top of the range hot tub.
